ORGANIZATION ONE SPACE AT A TIME!

Hi good morning!

Welcome back or Welcome if your knew!

I am Kandis! I am a Saskatchewan mom of 4 kiddos! I am married for 13 years now and I am in love with my coffee, planner, organizing and routines! I am totally into making shelves look pretty and categorizing stuff!

It is funny because I love organizing this is something that I have started so many chapters in my life with and I still learn new stuff every time I join in any organizing things! There was a organizing session not that long ago that re-motivated me!

The start to ME!

There is always little key sayings that’ll pop out and stick with you as you were watching real learning or just learning something new expecially when you’re passionate about it you’ll always pick up on something else that sticks out to you as you form habits with the older stuff that you learned!

Couple things that really stuck with me this last organizing seminar is to not get frustrated if you don’t have time to do all whole project that once! This is something that as really stuck with me for a years and I tried to encourage everyone that I help organizing with two know you don’t have to do it all in one day! One of the biggest organizing things that I do is that I work or try to work shelf by shelf! Corner by corner, just little bits at of time.

Another thing that absolutely stuck with me and this is a new one and I will probably always remember it now is that it’s okay to know when you were busy being busy! Let’s think about this let’s reread this:

Try to figure out or putting your planner or in your schedules:

what time are you busy being busy!

This phrase literally changed my life right now! We all know that we’re busy as for the day we all know that we have crazy hectic lives! But, to be able to run a really nice strong schedule I’ve realized she’s right and I need to start realizing and actually scheduling around my busy being busy times!

The same comes with organizing there was always something that will need to be organized. To be reorganized to be cleaned out, purged all of these things are a constant thing to be doing.

How I try to keep my organizing continuously kind of rolling is that every week I have a different room that I work on for my room zone, and so it then everyday or even just wants a week I will think about what space in that room needs to be organized or purged and then what needs to be cleaned or deep clean disinfected whatever the case maybe for that room.

To organize one shelf I know I usually only will need between five and 15 minutes depending on where I am working. And so I will try to figure out what the best time is me to take this Five to fifteen minutes to get the organizing done and then I know that it is done for that month. I say month because every week I go into a different room and so once a month I usually get into almost every room.

When it comes to work and I think you do not need to spend hours upon hours and days and days getting the stuff done. This is not how typical working people would get their house organized. Start small start with whatever time for a new half it takes me literally 2 minutes to clean out my cutlery door, or so organized our hair brushes. 2 minutes! If I tell myself I can not do something for 2 minutes I need to read look at my times and my priorities LOL.

Throughout November I am going to be breaking down a lot more of my organizing strategies and Deborah tips and tricks that I have learned throughout the years.

Is organizing something that you thrive on or is it something that you struggle with?

What is something that you struggle with when it comes to organizing a space in your house?

I hope you will follow along through the organizing sessions of November it is truly a passion of mine and I look forward to organizing my spaces with all of you!

Finding My Cleaning Rythem!

Hi good morning! Have you ever noticed that you can make a list you can even do everything on your list and then even blank or turn around and it’s like nothing ever got done! This is my situation lately at least what it seems like and honestly started me a little bonkers!

Hi I’m Kandis and welcome to classy classics by Kandis! I am a stay-at-home mother of four children from the ages of almost 13 down to almost three! I love them all but holy man do they make a mess. My children all have zones well my older kids have zones but they are required to help clean up everyday! A pretty good that’s definitely not Mama clean but, they are kids and not a mom so there will be a difference I guess!

We live in our house that we are in right now for 3 years and, it is a much bigger house than the one that we came from! Like much bigger than my little house yes, that was the point that’s why we moved we out grew our house and, I I love my house I love the space but I am definitely trying to figure out how to keep it all looking like a house and not a zoo!

I have tried a couple different routines. I have tried daily tasks for trying to cover all floors for example, to do the floors well then I’m vacuuming upstairs sweeping and mopping the main floor and trying to vacuum or clean the cement floors downstairs!

I have tried and being using zone cleaning where each week I am in a certain zone of my house and I pretty much try to totally take care of that one’s own room through the week then just tidy the others!

I have also been trying out combining both, I did this a couple years ago and it was working pretty good, and then life happened I lost my rhythm!

I have debated about just doing weekly running list where I have a list of a bunch of stuff that I want to get down that week and depending on how much time and what motivation I have depending on what task I do that day off the list! However that one is hard for me because I will only do my basics and just roll matter tasks over literally forever!

Do you have a system or do tasks as the need to be done?

I have decided that I think I’m going to try to order an hourly planner for the new year and see if I can organize my stuff that way! I’m actually very excited about trying to do a hourly planner!

Do you have a planner or just do lists!

I think with just the overload of changes in different schedules and trying to find my whole group again has kind of thrown me for a loop! It’s hard for me to shake out of it this round and I look forward to getting everything resituated and hopefully on a smoother train again! Choo choo

I am the type of person that does do better when I have schedules and routines I know this. But, too get out of my thoughts of how I had everything going and to try to re crop it but, still knowing what it’s going to work the best for me I think is what being is being tricky!

I do look forward to this new task of making a smoother system!

I hope this gave you a little motivation to get a cleaning rythem happening! There is something about having a clean kitchen in the morning that is addicting lol!

If you don’t follow me on Facebook and Instagram I will have links below!

I post more daily to dos there! Come get some mom motivation or give me some motivation lol!

Remember:

Mothers can do anything but, together we are unstoppable!

Until next week

Have a great day, a wonderful weekend and a productive week!

HALLOWEEN FUN!

Halloween is always such a fun holiday I fine! Between all the ghosts and witches costumes and all the yummy candy that yes I take from my kids oh, there is just so much excitement about Halloween!

Halloween has always been one of my favourite holidays it’s not my only favourite holiday because I love all holidays lol, but there is something super fun about being able to be anything you want for one day of the year!

Hi I’m Kandis welcome if you are new and welcome back if you are a follower of classy classic by Kandis. I am a stay-at-home mom of four kids ages from almost 13 down to almost three! It is never a dull moment in my house it’s always a zoo oh, I tried to convince my husband that we should just go as a zoo because I would be so comfortable with this because it’s literally how my house rolls!

This year I didn’t go as all out as what I sometimes do for Halloween oh, it’s still a very crazy time with all the pandemic stuff and, for the fact that I couldn’t send baked goods to the school we actually didn’t send anything this year because I wasn’t going to the store to buy anything! Not the best mom moved but I have never thought goodies to take for the school so I figured why this year I guess I don’t know! The big kids did dress up for class though so that’s fun at least and, we of course are going trick or treating! My daughter actually tried not going trick-or-treating this year and I laughed at her and I told her how am I supposed to eat all your candy if you don’t go and get me any LOL true story!

For this Halloween blog I thought I would just give you a little tour of some of the decorations that we set up this year they are really fine, my pumpkins did wonderful this year and I forgot to post to sell online again Story of My Life… So, this year the big kids get to carve their own pumpkins the, littles will do some with all of us! Then if I don’t want to cut the carved ones down for the freezer I can just do some for jut the freezer! Yes, I actually did good on my pumpkins in the garden this year!

The big pumkins we did as a family and the middle one is my second oldest! He did fantastic!
My daughter did hers at a Friend’s house this year! They did so good!

As far as goodies and treats and the house this year I kept it pretty basic! We had some cupcakes that I colored orange and tossed some green icing in it! We also just did some goodies and movie nights over the weekend! We also went and checked out a corn maze and kid activities!

All the kids had fun on this bouncy house!
Fun in the maze!
What was left of them lol! How awesome is that plate I found this year! 😍

That was our Halloween it was a slower Halloween, but it was definitely a good one!

How was your Halloween? 🎃

I will have some decoration pictures below of some that I did in the house!

EVENING ROUTINE! So Close To Bed Time!

Hi!

Good morning! Happy Monday! How was your weekend!

That time of year is here again where it getting chilly and it sure gets dark so early!

The other week I had shown my morning routine… I will have a link below for that blog!

My evening routine has shown to be just as important in this house! For everyone here!

My evening routine usually starts shortly after supper! If everything went fairly smooth then we are eating at 6:00 ish and start our routine round 6:45 ish… lol!

The importance of my evening routine!

When it comes too this routine it shares a big part in this house! We have all learned here that this routine has to be a part of our night! This helps everyone out in the house, whether they like to think it or not! Everyone has a part in the house, more then others but that is due to the age difference between them!

I have also noticed that my littles do not have to do as much as the bigger kids did when they were little! This is something I am working on too involve them more and more into the routines and pitching in with the house work!

The routine is important here I feel so that everyone know what to expect for the night! When it comes to needing to continuously tell everybody what they should be doing it can get really hard and chaotic around here and then nothing actually gets done other than I’m annoyed. This way I can simply tell the big kids it is time for evening routine oh, they didn’t know that they have to go and do their zones, get on pyjamas oh, and just get ready for bed and, then they can have whatever free time until bed as long as they have their chores done. I also have the routines located on the fridge I also have a more detailed part in my home binder.

I find the night routine can really help set the next day!

I don’t like going to bed with a messy kitchen or an over messy house. I want to get up and enjoy my coffee without having to see all extra stuff I have to do before I start my stuff for that day.

I’m not saying that every single night all of this gets done not even close! There are some names that I throw in the towel and just head to bed but, for the most part these are tasks that I try to have done every night before I go and watch my Netflix!

Right now I am watching the show Mom on Netflix and I love it!

What are you watching right now in your downtime?

WHAT IS ON MY NIGHT ROUTINE!

My night routine includes:

  • supper away
  • clean table and wipe it down
  • clean and wipe counters
  • load the dishwasher and wash any extra dishes
  • garbage out if need
  • tidy living room
  • tidy and quick wipe down of the bathroom
  • vaccume or sweep
  • spot mop the floors (some nights are just to mop)
  • pickup bootroom
  • kids showers and/or baths
  • kids bedtime routine

That is a quick glimpse of what my night routine consists of!

There is a bit on here yes! And this is where my kids zones come in to help me out. Each night the kids are to help with their zones usually between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. is when they do their chores.

HOW TO START A NIGHT ROUTINE!

The biggest thing when it comes to starting a routine no matter what time of the day it is is to start small!

A lot of the time I would go to start my routine and I would put so much on it that there was no way I could find the time and motivation to do it in the time frames that I gave myself.

When starting a routine, start with no more than three tasks! Usually the ones that will get added to an evening routine first will be chores that you’re already doing or want to do!

Chores like getting the dishes washed and possibly even put away, tidy up the kitchen who was the dirty kitchen cleaning up and maybe clean off the kitchen table or shine your sink.

Having just these three main chores we’ll make it so that when you wake up your house is just a little more inviting. As these chores become more and more of a habit then you can start adding more chores onto your evening routine.

Something that you will have to consider when cropping in your routine is whether you were going to do it when your kids are up or when they’re sleeping! Are they going to have chores to do with you or you doing it by yourself?

STICK TO IT!

Habits take time! We all know this and making a routine a “hibit” takes time!

They say it takes 21 days to form a habit!

When you’re starting a new routine I would start with one or two tasks that you really want done and that you want to make have it on you routine!

Then every week as your one or two tasks become easier and easier then that’s when you can add on another task! Keep adding tasks little by little for one month and that will give you four weeks to add tasks!

By the end of the month you should know what chores will work the best For What routine and you can just add and move your tasks as you see fit from how we or seasons change kids activities change all of that routines are meant to make your days better not to make you frustrated LOL.

Like routine? Let me know leave a comment or like the blog I would love to continue to do more of these it is truly something that is helped us a if my house and my sanity!

You can follow me on Facebook is where I post the most stuff I do have Instagram I don’t use it too much anymore, but I will definitely leave those links down below check them out. I tried to do a lot more day-to-day mom tasks, cleaning motivation organizing tips all of that stuff throughout the days. A nice way for moms to just know that they’re not alone and that all kids are kids and days can be hard but it’s okay mama it’s only a stage and we all need each other from time to time.

Until next week have a great day, a wonderful weekend and, a productive week!

Bye for now

There is stuff on the table all day lol its a dumping spot!
I use the kitchen for pictures as there is always something to do in it!
Always dishes right!
Warning ⚠️
a clean kitchen is highly addictive
Love a clean table for the next day!
