I have not shared a lot about why I budget! The story behind it! The struggle and downs of it! Last weeks was a little story time of why I started to budget when I had!
This weeks I wanted to bring out some brightness to budgeting! There is many reasons why budgeting is often thought of as a long draining task! There is always the bright outline to it but, I find that it is ofter repeated of those top benefits! There is so much good things that come out of a good budget and many will have you always have a type of budget!
The reason, the drive behind ones reason for budgeting will change! With that the outcome will change too!
Budgeting is a lot like our routines! It will not always look the same for everyone!
Yes, the outline, the basics will be there and usually close to the same for almost everyone! The deep part of it all will be different because it is your budgeting!
THE BRIGHT SIDE
When I had started thinking of budgeting it was not a positive inspiration! I knew it would pay off…… hopefully….. one day…. right?
I feel this is how many people start for feelings when they think of saving money! This is because you have made a life style that you like, or that maybe you striving for! If you live out side of your budgeting then it will add up, but we usually don’t notice this until we are in too deep!
This doesn’t have to be the case!
You don’t need to be in deep to start saving money, and it does not have to be a horrible time consuming no fun time!
The bright side to budgeting is that its your budget! Its your goals and your savings!
The bright side is you can be in control of your money and not have your money control your life! It won’t be forever however, I can tell you that when you actually start and you start seeing results and start having money again it can get to me fun almost addictive to see how much you can save!
It may turn into something that you will never stop budgeting or trying to save money, setting different money goals! Just like any goal when you get the hang of it it’s worth it all in the end!
When it comes to setting your budget and goals you can set your own speed! Reach the finish line when you wanted to!
When I was pulling us out of a flipping butt load of debt I did it as fast as I could! This was HARD! Everyone was on a spending limit on really everything!
You want to know something tho! When I had a talk with my family about the money changes that were goin to be happening everyone was ok with it! Yes, there was some days where it was not much fun, it was hard and sad! But, I explained what we were doing and why!
THE OUTCOME CAN BE AN AMAZING FEELING!
After a couple years! YES a couple years my husband said that he wasn’t sure how well it was working and maybe we should drop the “budget” and so you know what happened! I sat down with him and we re-looked at our debt! We checked in with ourselves if you will and you know what happened next? We kept going because looking at the debt that we had started with we were almost done already!
YES! You read that right we were almost out of our debt already! Now years sounds like a long time however remember we were in debt for THOUSANDS of dollars!
I remember opening our mail and looking at the statements and having such a overwhelming feeling of accomplishment! Like I said money is an addictive thing! I have never heard of someone who does not like money or who does not feel like they want more money!
The reality is the world revolves around money! This is a crappy aspect about being an adult but it is true!
When you find your budget and get comfy in it you will soon see just how much you may of been spending on well absolutely nothing!
These are things that I will be talking about throughout this money but, yes the reality is that probably half if not more of what you were spending your money on is nothing!

How did your week go? I hope you had a wonderful productive weak. Have you started cropping new routines for the new year yet?
I love my routines I actually rely on my routines probably more than what I think I do! Did you catch last week’s blog about why I have my routines. With what routines I will always keep and which ones I can move around more! I will leave a link for that blog make sure to go and have read if you have not already!
Do you have routines already or you getting ready to start one? Maybe you don’t do routines at all and I’m here to tell you you should they are a LIFE SAVER!
When it comes time to the new year is usually when someone is like I need a better routine! It doesn’t need to be at the beginning of the year or, even at the beginning of a week you can create or start a routine anytime you are ready!
When I sit down and look over my routines whether something’s not quite working, I feel a little too stressed at certain times of the day or life is just totally went wonky for a little bit and something needs change! I will always sit down and be ready to move some stuff around on my routines!
Now, with this said I also will say that I have been using routines for so many years now that I automatically know what chores will help me the most on what times of the day without needing to try to move those chores! For an example every morning I unload the dishwasher, start a load of laundry, get the kids with lunch ready, get them up get them going you know the normal stuff!
With that, I have done a bunch of different things and guess there are some things that I would like to put back into my evening routine that have been in my morning routine that I feel would help my morning go smoother however, when things have stayed the same for so long it can be hard to break that routine. This is because if you do a routine for so long it’s becomes a habit and not a routine! This is why I always say keep with your routines it will get better if it’s not helping you then change it. A routine is set to help you!
MAKING A ROUTINE!
When it comes to making your routine I always suggest to start small. This is because we tend to throw a whole bunch of stuff on to our list and wonder why we didn’t get it all done!
I suggest we start with 3 tasks that you have to do in the morning. This can be any three tasks it can even be tasks that you already do and don’t really realize it this will help you see the times and the different ways of making your routines!
I also I suggest you start with you’re basic routines at a time! This will allow you to see your time and your ability to do certain tasks at a certain block of the time! Let me explain this a little more!
Let’s start with a morning routine! And I tend to start with a morning routine because that is the time of day that everybody seems to be the most rushed most frazzled in the most stress.
The first thing you need to decide is how long is your routine going to take you from. Is your morning routine from when you get up to when say your kids go to school if that’s what they’re doing oh, maybe it’s when they’re going for their first nap maybe it’s when you were heading out the door to make it to work on time! No matter what your morning looks like everybody has a morning and that is why a morning routine is important for anyone!
When starting your morning routine start small! Start with between 3 and 5 tasks to get done in that certain time frame that you have! These tasks may just be to make your bed, get dressed and maybe unload the dishwasher. The chances are your mornings have more tasks already involved in it. There’s probably more tasks but you’re doing out of habit than what you realize you were doing.
I say that you are probably doing more than what you realize because when you are doing a habit you don’t think about doing it it is just that I have it now. Think about some of the habits that you do in the morning that would probably be on somebody else’s morning routine. For example when you get up a lot of the time you are probably on autopilot not realizing exactly how much you were doing when you were doing it. It is like that for I think literally everyone just because you don’t think about it doesn’t mean you’re not actually doing. Do you might not need to put some stuff on your morning routine but it could just across the the off wink wink 😉 😜.
Some of these tasks could include something like making your bed, getting dressed, brushing your teeth, making lunches, making your coffee Etc you get my point. Just because it isn’t a big cleaning task or organizing task doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be on the list! Not everything on your list needs to be a big task just because it’s not a big nagging task doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be done.
This is where I was saying but it doesn’t matter what is on your routine because it’s your routine. This is meant to make your time frame that you were working with more productive more calm and making more time for what you want to do.
So for this week’s blog I’m going to leave it at that. I have plans on doing routine talks, planning talks, organizing tips all of that fun! It’s going to be a fun, balance year here!

Happy Monday! How was your week? I hope you had a great New Years! It is wild that it is 2022, how crazy is it too think that another year has come and gone!
This year I had picked Balanced as my word of the year and, with that I am trying to balance my life more! I don’t aim to add a bunch of new tasks to my day rather then too try to balance it out nicer!

This week I wanted to talk about one of my favorite things to help keep my house running a little more smoothly! That is to have a good ROUTINE!
If you have been with me for a while you probally already know that I LOVE MY ROUTINES! I can really not tell you enough how much routines hep out with my family and myself!
To have a routine does not mean too have your day planned out to the T. You can sure but, you don’t need to!
A routine is good for any time and can be used as many times through a day as one needs!
I use routines multiple times a day however, if and or when I start feeling that my routines are starting to need adjusting because of the seasons or just different life occurances then I will ususally only keep my moring and night routine! I feel my afternoon routine is the one that can be held off for a bit vs the other ones!
When it comes to the morning routine and night routine I feel these go hand in hand and will run a smoother house during the day and help set up for a smoother day for the next day!
If you have a strong morning routine your day and night will probally go smoother if, you have a strong night routine your morning should be smoother and then its a big cycle from one day to the next. These routines will eventually turn into habits. Without thinking about it you will be doing certain tasks without really thinking about needing too!
I have tryed to do many different lists and to do ideas! However, I have learned that I work the best but, also like my planner and routines the best!
I have always been a list kinda girl but, when it comes to my lists I will take routines over most because, I find I am very scattered in my thoughts and I will loose track of what I was doing and work in a space that was not a priority and that’s how it happens! I would work hard all day bouncing from here to there for the end of the day to come and all that I have seems to be a bigger mess.
I have my routines and I rearrange them LOTS, this is becuase there is always something changing in the house! Whether it is a change in the season which yes, here is Saskatchewan has a big impact in the days or, someone has joined something and times need to be rearranged!

With the year just starting I always feel my routines can be a little stronger! As I sit down and make my routines I realize that a lot of what on there is what is needing to be there! It can be easy to fill in the blanks to make a better routine but a nice blank sheet and a morning is really where you need to start it!
I thought it would be a good idea to start the new year blogs on routines!

Whoop whoop it’s almost Christmas! It is hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner now! It doesn’t seem like a year a ago that I was cleaning and and checking out all the goodies from last year!
I remember telling the kids that Christmas was over and it was only a year away! Then boom here we are again with very little that has changed I find! I am trying not to be to ancy or grouchy this year! There is nothing to be granky about I think really it’s freaking Christmas time!
I always find it kind of funny how it is “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” but, it is probably one of the most stressful time of the year! I should say that I don’t know if it’s the stress after the holidays that make it seem so crazy or if it’s that I put so much stress into it that makes it crazy! Does that make sense?
I find another thing that part is all of my kids birthdays are in the winter and kind of been slipping with birthday parties lately. I think some of it has to do with covid in the back then there’s just rules everywhere now. It makes it hard to plan a birthday party! My next birthday party is my two little ones they actually are born 2 years and 5 days apart LOL oh yeah lots of cake. Winter is not the diet time in this house I tell you.
This year it wasn’t really stressful I’m not close to being done and I should be stressed out oh, I think it’s okay though all you know I got most of the gifts bought most of them all oh, it’s just mostly my Christmas baking that I have to do which I don’t know why it’s making me feel stressed because it’s not like it’s hard to make Christmas cookies!
This year I’m really excited about just trying to enjoy Christmas with all the kids. I think it’s hard to that true that year kids are good but they still drive me bonkers through the year and so when Christmas time comes around seems like it’s being such a short year but such a busy year.
I think that’s the reason why I’m a little more and see this year is just that 2021 is almost over bad and there’s still a bit to do before I’m ready to do 2022. Now don’t get me wrong I’m excited about 2022, bring on the new year out the old in with the new but it’s still the end of a whole year. I sit here and I’m like what did I do that whole year and it seems like there’s not a whole lot on my list but I know that there is. It was just one of those years I think. Did you notice that as you got older the days just blur together months just blend in together.
This year there was definitely some emotional roller coasters happening but,. Tends to happen at this time of the year for a lot of people. This year for Christmas I just want to be can’t be around my children drinking my coffee and enjoying them opening their stockings and presents.
I am trying to leave 2021 and I cannot be plays hoping that I can bring in 2022 and a happy place! I have been racking my head around my different sayings or my word for 2022 as I do love doing I don’t always stick to my word on my phrase depending on what it is but just like New Year’s resolutions I try!
There’s a lot of stuff like I said to finish up for 2021 but I am set to try to make the end of this year as great as I can to make the beginning of next year as absolutely great as I can!
