PERKS OF BUDGETING! (it’s not all bad)

Hello and good morning!

How was our week last week? Did you get a chance to catch last weeks blog! I will leave it linked down below!

PERKS OF BUDGETING! (it’s not all bad)

Hello and good morning! How was our week last week? Did you get a chance to catch last weeks blog! I will leave it linked down below! I have not shared a lot about why I budget! The story behind it! The struggle and downs of it! Last weeks was a little story time of…

I have not shared a lot about why I budget! The story behind it! The struggle and downs of it! Last weeks was a little story time of why I started to budget when I had!

This weeks I wanted to bring out some brightness to budgeting! There is many reasons why budgeting is often thought of as a long draining task! There is always the bright outline to it but, I find that it is ofter repeated of those top benefits! There is so much good things that come out of a good budget and many will have you always have a type of budget!

The reason, the drive behind ones reason for budgeting will change! With that the outcome will change too!

Budgeting is a lot like our routines! It will not always look the same for everyone!

Yes, the outline, the basics will be there and usually close to the same for almost everyone! The deep part of it all will be different because it is your budgeting!

THE BRIGHT SIDE

When I had started thinking of budgeting it was not a positive inspiration! I knew it would pay off…… hopefully….. one day…. right?

I feel this is how many people start for feelings when they think of saving money! This is because you have made a life style that you like, or that maybe you striving for! If you live out side of your budgeting then it will add up, but we usually don’t notice this until we are in too deep!

This doesn’t have to be the case!

You don’t need to be in deep to start saving money, and it does not have to be a horrible time consuming no fun time!

The bright side to budgeting is that its your budget! Its your goals and your savings!

The bright side is you can be in control of your money and not have your money control your life! It won’t be forever however, I can tell you that when you actually start and you start seeing results and start having money again it can get to me fun almost addictive to see how much you can save!

It may turn into something that you will never stop budgeting or trying to save money, setting different money goals! Just like any goal when you get the hang of it it’s worth it all in the end!

When it comes to setting your budget and goals you can set your own speed! Reach the finish line when you wanted to!

When I was pulling us out of a flipping butt load of debt I did it as fast as I could! This was HARD! Everyone was on a spending limit on really everything!

You want to know something tho! When I had a talk with my family about the money changes that were goin to be happening everyone was ok with it! Yes, there was some days where it was not much fun, it was hard and sad! But, I explained what we were doing and why!

THE OUTCOME CAN BE AN AMAZING FEELING!

After a couple years! YES a couple years my husband said that he wasn’t sure how well it was working and maybe we should drop the “budget” and so you know what happened! I sat down with him and we re-looked at our debt! We checked in with ourselves if you will and you know what happened next? We kept going because looking at the debt that we had started with we were almost done already!

YES! You read that right we were almost out of our debt already! Now years sounds like a long time however remember we were in debt for THOUSANDS of dollars!

I remember opening our mail and looking at the statements and having such a overwhelming feeling of accomplishment! Like I said money is an addictive thing! I have never heard of someone who does not like money or who does not feel like they want more money!

The reality is the world revolves around money! This is a crappy aspect about being an adult but it is true!

When you find your budget and get comfy in it you will soon see just how much you may of been spending on well absolutely nothing!

These are things that I will be talking about throughout this money but, yes the reality is that probably half if not more of what you were spending your money on is nothing!

I hope you are getting excited about saving money this month!

I sure am!

If you are looking to save some money, maybe try to track your spending maybe, you are wanting to save for something new and exciting! I am here to say:

YES YOU CAN! YES YOU CAN DO IT!

Lets get our money and budget under control!

Happy 2022

Hello, good morning!

Happy Monday! How was your holidays?

This year was a good christmas! It was filled with great memories, great gifts, way to much food and some good drinks! This year was also a little different! The way that is was different was that I had my christmas decorations down before New years eve! This is almost unheard of for in my house!

Last year I had kept my tree up and made it into a Valentine’s tree! It was the cutest thing I think! I will leave a link for the blog… go check it out it was a cute and fun idea!

Valentine’s Fun!

So why the rush this year?

There wasn’t really a reason or a big rush however, this year like I said it was a great christmas. I has woke up tho one morning just after christmas. We has had christmas here with my husbands parents and brother, then boxing day we had spent with my dad! He is unable to come out to my house due to a knee injury he is still recovering from!

So, we did our christmas’s then for some reason I was good to end christmas there! I think I was conent I had said ” It was a great christmas and lets leave it there! Let’s let those memories be the end of the year!” Really I did!

With my hubby saying I could start with taking down the tree decorations I just kept on going! It really was just what I needed!

Now, that the new year is here I am still so happy that I took the time when I did and got the decorations but away and a clean start to the new year!

The last ocuple years have been a blur, as I am sure it has been like that for many people! These years have been a wonky one and I am ready to MOVE ON!

With the New year here I am ready to start 2022 with a wonderful start!

Do you make new year resolutions?

Do you ever pick a word for the year?

I had started thinking of word of the year a couple years ago and I liked it enough to keep doing it lol! I find it’s a nive way to sprinkle some possitivity and motvation on the start of the year! I also make new year resolutions however, I do that one a little different! I don’t do big lists of things that I might or might not do! I have been trying to take a couple spots in my life that I would like to work on and every month I will try to do something with that goal or try to incorporate it into my days instead of junping in and feeling like it will not work and just stop a couple weeks into it!

I aim to improve myself or my life vs changing big almost impossible tasks!

This year I had thought about it and, different words had popped into my head for the new year but, one word made my head and my heart agree on!

That word is:

BALANCED

This word I think is a good fit for me expecially for in 2022!

I had ended up going with this for a couple reasons. When I had thought of this one it had stuck with me in the back of my head even while I was thinking of other ones! With the last couple years we defentily had a couple twists and turns along the way! As i’m sure everyone had some unexpeced turns occur in 2021!

This year I know that I needed to be able to handle my days a little better! I do defentily have anxeity and tend to overthink and just struggle with my own thoughts throughout some days! This was doing no good for anyone!

This is why I am hoping and planning to simply just tyr to BALANCE my days! I tend to think that there is really only one way to do something! Everything should be done and done right! This is not the way I need to be thinking!

There is more and more reason when I think about it of why my word of the 2022 year is BALANCED!

As a stay home mom, a wife, trying to keep the kids fed and for the most part contect. With everything that we do as a mom and a wife we are then also ALWAYS reminded that we need to make sure to take time for A,B anc C! This was not a strong suit of mine, in the aspect that I will not stop until its ALL done! Which some and probally most days is not possible to do everything that we are told we need or should be doing!

I picked the work BALANCED to remind my self and to try too become more BALANCED!

If you try to do to much at once it will be too hard!

If you try to put to much on one side without a balancer on the other side then you tip!

The one thing that I have been telling myself is “It’s not about how much I can do, it’s about being happy when I do it!” I can’t be scared to fall when I know that I might fly! If I can learn to balance my wings then who knows how far they will take me!

How about you? Do you use a word of the year to help with any resolutions that you may of made for the year?

I am planning on having a wonderful year with more fun with the blogs and more content on my social pages! If you are ready I would love for you to join me in the 2022 year!

Follow along on the blog I have a goal to get my life more organized and our house running as smooth as we can with so many people and so many different age catagories! I will also leave a link for my facebook and instagram! I have set goals to be more BALANCED with the pages and to have more talks with ALL OF YOU!

Until next week!

Have a wonderful day, a productive week and a smooth weekend!

Bye for now!

MY FAVORITE DIY PRODUCTS!

I always heard, if you can make it DO IT. When I sat down and seen what I was spending on some products it seemed really silly. Why am I paying so much for something I don’t even know whats in it. To know that there is so much of a cost price just due to the time of year, where it was coming out of, and what was supposed to be awesome about it. It really made me sit down and think “how can I do this better.”

Hi and good morning and welcome to CLASSY CLASSICS BY KANIDS!

I will start by saying a little bit about myself! A few years ago I was trying to have a little more, I was budgeting and trying to have a clean house at the same time, while keeping kiddos content lol!

Times have not changed this alot, I love making my DIY products, I am a mother of 4 kids ages 11,9,3,and 1 1/2! I have been married for 12 years now!

When I sat down, I had quickly learned how much I was spending on cleaners. I knew they added up, but until I had sat down and looked close I hadn’t realized how much! I had then hoped onto trusty pintrest created a board and went to work.

MONEY TIPS

5 MONEY SAVING TIPS

These are all little tips and tricks that I have learned while we were pulling ourselves out of debt. Go have a read, on how you can start a debt free life!

There is many ways of why you may want to start making your own products. There is so many things that one can make to either save money, or even just have a healthier enviroment! There is really no limit to what you can make yourself!

I am one to make more home products, I don’t do a lot of house decor (which I would love to start), I do more homemade cleaning and meal prep products.

Some of my favorite DIY’s that I have kept making and plan on to keep making are ones I found easy to make and will make a difference in your shopping trips!

I’ll let you know them and then we will talk about them with how you can make this in your home too!

Do you have some go to DIY products that you LOVE?

Leave it in the comment below!

First up is one I have in my life forever, its a staple in most grandmothers houses!

1) VINEGAR AND WATER…. AND ESSETIAL OILS

This mixture I have been using for SO LONG! This makes the perfect all purpose cleaner! You can spray this top to bottom of where ever you are cleaning, and simply wipe it down with a dry rag! This can be used on counters, cuboards, windows, fridge… I mean ANYWHERE!

All you need here is:

– a empty spray bottle

-white vinegar

-water

– essential oil for scent

Simply fill rougly 1/4 – 1/2 of the spray bottle with vinegar, fill with warm water and add as much the essential oils for scent. This cleaner will only run you pennies per bottle! Yes, you will get used to the smell of vinegar lol!

2) LAUNDRY DETERGENT

This one can save LOTS of money, as if you are like me it seems as tho there is ALWAYS laundry! It doesn’t seem to matter what laundry schedual I put myself on.. or try too there is always something that can be washed. Ecpecially with 4 kids.

To make this one you will need:

– 3-4 sunlight laundry bars grated

– 1 box borax

-1 containers oxi clean

-1 container arm n hammer laundry soap

– 1 large box baking soda

– 1 container unstoppable jar

Grate the sunlight bars into a large container, simply pour the other boxes together. Use roughly one scoop per load.

3) FABRIC SOFTENER

This one I have been using for just as long as the other ones! I was always so horrified on how much a jug of fabric softener was! So I just never used it. Then I found this and now I don’t like washing towels unless I have some made, because it is just wonderful.

This one is very easy to make, and only takes about 5 minutes to make!

– 2 cups conditioner (any kind)

– 3 cups of white vinegar

– 6 cups of warm water

Mix all together in on old fabric jug, shake it up and use a cap full as you would the store brand.

4) BABY WIPES

It is no secret that baby wipes are not only pricey and deffintly adds up, but they are not actually that good for babies tooshies. I have been making these since at least my third kid lol. These are so easy to make, and so unexpensive too.

– paper towel cut in half to make 2 rolls of squares

– 4 tablesoons of coconut oil

-2 tablespoons of baby shampoo

– roughly 2 cups of hot water per half roll of squared                                                                ( 1 full roll of paper towel cut in 2 = 4 cups water)

Mix the water and oil with shampoo, and wet the paper towel. Sqeeze water out, and if you want you can unravel it to make it an accoridian style for easier access when using. Store in a ziplock bag, or a air tight container!

5) MAKE UP REMOVER

Make up is always expensive, then you add face wash, moisturizer and what ever else. Then to add at least $10.00 on for something that will make taking all the stuff off easier. I have been making my own wipes for years. These work great…. as long as you aren’t lazy while making them I have noticed. This has close to the same recipie as the baby wipes just less water!

– Paper towel cut in half

– 1 cup of water roughly

– 1 tablespoon baby wash

With these I need to point out that you should take the time to seperate the squares and not leave it rolled up in the roll, like you can when making baby wipes. These is the squares are not unravelled then they ALL don’t work as well, the ones in the middle just don’t have much oil on them!

These are some of my go to DIY products, there is so much more that can be made, from homemade pie crust or tortilla shells, all the way to homemade hummingbird food, to getting you’re own seeds from the garden for next year.

Let me know in the comments down below, what is one of your favorite DIY’s to make?

BUDGETING ENVELOPE TO KEEP YOU ON TRACK!

It doesn’t seem to matter, where I go or how I get there money is involved. 💵

When you are trying to save money whether its just a little bit or to budgeting extreme, it seems like there is more that one wants to buy when you know you can’t, or like me and everything in my house seems to break down at once!

Hi and WELCOME to Classy Classics By Kandis! ☕

If you are new to the blog go ahead and follow, sign up with your email to get notifacations on new blog posts! 📰

I hope you will enjoy this blog about budgeting with some idea’s and tips that I find can really helps.😁

I started budgeting many moons ago, my hubby and myself had found ourselfves in way over our head in debt, when I had decided to change the ways we spent our money trying to get us out of debt these little tips and tricks of tracking and following were what had helped! 🐾

When it comes to money, tecnology is not everyones friend. I am a straight up work better with pen and paper kind of girl! I just recently started being able to do e-transfers and check my account on line lol. 👩‍💻

When it comes to spending money, do you track it?

Do you know in advance what you will be spending and where?

When it comes to budgeting big or little you must know WHERE YOUR MONEY IS GOING!

Did you read the budgeting blog? ⏪

Start there and come back to this… So you are looking to save money!

Have your budget all set out for the month? 📆

I say a month in the beginning as most (expecially with 2020) are getting paid once a month. This is how I get paid, and most payment and bi-weely or monthly! 📅

RIGHT!

Ok still with me? 🤣

Great! 👍

Lets start the actual blog then before I loss you haha.

For the budgeting envelope that is all you need an old envelpe and a marker! 🖍

GOT THEM?

What you are going to do is with your envelope make a line down the middle, and then make 3 across to that you have 4 sqaures down on each side of the line!

MARK YOUR MONTH ON TOP! ✏

Each sqaure is a week, so go ahead and mark the weeks in the corner of each box. This is how you will break down your month for spending as week to week is less intimidaing then a whole month.

With the other blog, it showed you how to find your budget for the month! With your set budget for “spending” you will use this with the envelope! 📩

You can use cash or still use your debit either was KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS!📬

On the first row that is representing the first week, put your gorcery/house budget here, then on the other side of the line put your budget for “other” here.

Now as the week happens as you are using your budget as you put your reciept into the envelope, go ahead and subtract your cost of what you spent on the amount you have on your budget.📈

With this you can take money from your “other” square to your “grocery” and other way but DO NOT TAKE FROM THE FOLLOWING WEEKS! You are trying to save money not borrow week to week! 💰

Lets do a little example:

Let’s say you did your budget ok and it’s:

💲400 grocery 💲200 other 💲600 bills

JUST SAY

So breaking it down there is $100 per week for groceries and $50 for other per week!

There was a sale so you took $125 for the first week, so now you would have $25 for others for the rest of the week.

But, maybe with that sale you know will only spend $50 for groceries the next week. Now there would be $100 for others on the next week if you roll over the weelly budget. OR You can take any money you did not spend that week if you can and put it in for EXTRA debt payments! ⛵

The point is NEVER “borrow” from the following weeks, it will keep you in the snow ball effect, this is not how to get ahead! ☃️

If you are being diligent and keep your reciepts in the envelope when you spend the money, at the end of the week, or the month… however works better for you, this is how you can track ALL YOUR MONEY!💰

This will allow you to see where you over spend. If you go and get a treat everyday even att only $4.00, do that for a whole week and you spent $30.00 on that ONE TREAT! 🍦

STAY TUNED NEXT BLOG IS ABOUT MONEY SAVING TIPS! 🙄

Now that we have talked about the envelope it’s time to put it into action! 🎬

Take it with you, EVERYWHERE!

Put it in your car, purse, put your cash or card in it and take it with you! This is a easy way to track all your money!

When you purchace something determine what side it would belong to, and when your reciept goes in subract the amount and DON’T OVER SPEND! 🚫

No one wants to put things back at the till, or throw it out when you didn’t use it. ♻️

I hope you enjoyed this budgeting blog, give it a like so I know to make more blogs like this one. 👍

SUMMER DRINKS!

Hello, good morning and happy summer!

Can you believe it’s finally summer, actually the season too! Since summer wasn’t actually till June 20th it was happily accepted here in Saskatchewan!

It was a pretty wonky start to June! With the wheather finally starting to get nice out, it’s time to get some summer drinks happening.

Summer is short in my neck of the woods, so when it’s time to open the windows and doors we are getting pretty ancy to get outside here!

Let me start with a little but about myself for those who don’t know me! I am a stay at home mom with 4 kids ages from 11 down to almost 18 months. Married and just trying to keep people happy and some food on the table lol.

When I say we are busting to get out, it’s not a stretch! In Saskatchewan we have what seems like 8 months or more of winter! That’s a long time to be cooped up in the house, so when the snow melts and the birds start singing it’s not crazy for me to say we are out side ALL day!

As my routines change for summer months ( routine blog coming), we are out side from morning to night!

Breaking up the day with still chores whether it’s inside or out, break time is always appreciated!

When its hot and muggy out a cold drink can be even more appreciated!I thought it would be a fun way to kick off summer holidays with some of my favorite drinks!

Mamma drinks that is! When I’m not sipping my coffee, as I always will have coffee, some days you need or want just a little something else.

EXPECIALLY ON A LITTLE HARDER DAY WITH THE KIDDOS! lol

These can be handy as you can make a pitcher and have it ready or just make a cup as fast as a pitcher.

Depending on your day, depends on what you need…Yes?

I am not into sweet drinks and so I have tweaked the drinks to fit me and what I like!

What’s your go to summer DRINKS?

Beer drinker?

Coolers?

Wine?

Cocktails?

Are you like me and it all depends on your mood, the wheather, and the chores of the day?

Let me know in comments what do you drink in the heat of the summer!

Also let me know if you liked the blog so I know to do more like this one!

MOJITOS

Classic summer drink, let me know how you make yours!

– white rum

– lemons

Fill with water ENJOY!

Don’t want to make anything?

What’s your go to cooler, or beer?

Growing A Garden!

Love making flower arrangments in pots for around the steps and deck!

Hello and good morning!

The birds have been singing, the sun is getting warmer, most importantly the snow is gone, for the most part! This is a wonderful thing, I live in Saskatchewan, Canada and winters last FOREVER here! This all means it’s time to gtebplanning and preparing the garden!

This year will prove to be more as I am starting a new garden! A new area, new spot, means new work! I also didn’t have the same set up and my 2 youngest sure didn’t help the plants tarting! There is still time and needing to purpases this year more then normal may be a good thing in a couple ways! This will not be my last garden but it will be my first for the new one!

I have been gardening for over 10 years now, and I tell ya it’s not quite like just putting a seed into the ground, then coming around and eating and harvesting. Well for most garden plants that is not the case! That is the short vission, I have learned there is deffently more to it.

When I get ready to start some plants I start in February and March! It takes months of prepping for some, but all worth in the end… I think anyways!

Let me start with me! Hi and welcome to Classy Classic’s By Kandis I’m Kandis! I am a mom of 4 kid’s age from 11 to 1 year old. I have been married for almost 14 years, I have been a stay at home mom since our daughter came into our world in 2009. I had tempted my first garden in 2008 and it was a massive flop. Like I don’t even count that year as having a garden lol.

Do you garden?

What do you grow?

Do you prestart your seeds, or use nurseries?

Where to start?

What to start first?

How to get them started?

Let’s get some answers to some questions, let’s save time and so much money!

Where to start!

The first thing you actually need to figure out is where and/or what kind of garden you are going to have?

Is it going to be a in ground Garden? Is it done, by this is it worked up, does it have good sun coverage one it?

Is a raised garden what you into? Have spots picked out? How many beds are you doing? How are they being built and/or delivered?

NEXT

What are you planting? Make a list and figure out what you are wanting to grow! This step is when you need to also figure out if you are starting all your own seeds or are you buying for a green house or maybe both!

Start the ones you need! When it comes to growing, not everything takes the same time. Depending on where you live also depends on how much extra growing time you need. Saskatchewan gardening will be much different then if you live in B.C lol. Some plants will take almost months longer then some others. When I start cantaloupe it is so much earlier then say lettuce that is seeded right into the ground! So get your list and seeds of what you are going to pre start.

STARTING YOUR SEEDS

There is all sorts of ways to start seeds! There is so many products out there but they do add up fast. Thought out the winter I will save my plastic fruit containers, some egg cartons and some milk jugs and cartons. These are all things I reuse when starting my garden seasons.

HOW TO PRE START YOUR SEEDS

Seeds are little and finicky, as I feel I need to do better, as my plants come and go as I try to start them! When it comes to space for light, with an area that little a ones can’t get at, it can be hard to do as a tell lol. So back to starting seeds! I like to start mine in cut divided egg cartons. Simply cut out each egg square, place them in the container you are choosing. Like I said I like using plastic fruit containers they make mini green houses! What ever you are using simply add dirt wet slightly, put seed on top and lightly cover with dirt! Water again and place them in a sunny warm spot! Over the next couple weeks, keep them watered and warm and watch them grow!

TRANSPLANTING

When you start your seedlings in a mini green house, or any starter, you will need to transplant them into a bigger pot till time to go into the ground. This step is why I like to use cut egg cartons, as the little roots and streams are very weak, using the method keeps them protected. Simply take the whole plant and egg carton out, with dirt in the bottom of your bigger pot place the carton and plant and place it in the pot. Add dirt to cover most of the stem. Then conitue on watering and keeping warm. You may need to transplant one more time if the pot is not of size to support the plant depending on your gardening time. Here in Saskatchewan we are now more accustomed to not having out gardens in till the first week of June!

PLANTING IN THR GROUND

When the frost is gone, and your ground is worked up and ready it’s time to plant and transplant into the ground. I like to have my rows marked and drenched. This just makes placing easier and quicker.

When plants need to be transplanted into the ground, simply make a hole, about the size of the pot, making it a little, deeper to make sure the stem can be covered. Not all the stem, however most plants the stem as it grows becomes the root base!

When it comes to sowing directly into the ground. Simply trench your row, spread your seeds into the row and cover! Lightly water the garden after, you do you meant to drench it as the seeds can actually get moved or washed out. In some cases the seeds may get to wet and crush.

OVER LOOK

Gardening can be such a fun time, with some hard work and love it can be an addicting hobby. Let’s quickly overlook the steps

1: get your garden space picked and prepared. Whether you are doing in ground or raised beds, get them ready.

2: make a list of paints you would like to grow

3: get your seeds and material if you are prestarting

4: start any seeds that require extra grow time

5: transplant, purchase, your almost ready to plant plants

6: make and trench your rows

7: plant your garden

8: keep weeds down, water regularly, pick as ready

This is my steps when it comes to preparing for a garden. I hope you enjoyed the garden blog, I look forward to planting my garden every year. Whether it’s because it means we are busting out of the house from the long Saskatchewan winter, or because I truly love growing my own food. Make sure you like the post, so I can do more on gardens.

What I Am Doing!

March 20 2020, this was a day that will be hard to forget!

This was the day I got got informed to prepped my kids to come home from school! Caronavirus is getting strong, it’s getting close! With worldwide shut downs, school boards saying take a education week off, and the government telling us to stay home!

I along with millions of others didn’t and still don’t know what is in store for the weeks, even months coming!

How as a mom of 4 and a wife supposed to just handle it all? I am a stay at home mom, so there is most definitely different factors for me as many others!

How did I prep for the craziness!

THE FIRST WEEK!

Tuesday we went to our local grocery store, which is now getting slimmer for the pickens, all already! I headed to the school, to get the kids binders from their classrooms. I actually grabbed all work books, as our school elementary keeps their workbooks together in the rooms. So heading in I talked to  teachers who are waiting and wondering just as much as the parents. “This week we disinfect, Monday we start classes at home” I stated. As we head home with with both kids with us, and had a discussion Monday night on some issues to expect, we get ready to bunker in!

Everyone in our house a house of 6 is good. Then the little ones get colds!

Wednesday through Saturday we set out and cleaned!

Extra cleaning time in the kitchen! Keeping it wiped down as much as I can!

When I say that I cleaned I mean I took on extra… like i always seem to do, I disinfected the house along with my spring cleaning and organizing. This seemed to be the hardest almost 4 days ever, but all I could tell myself is ” it’s ok it’s another task that will be done.”

Deep cleaning the pantry while doing an inventory!

WEEK 2 IN THE MAKING

As Monday came rolling in, home classes started! We are still working on how it will work the smoothest in our house, however for at least the first week of learning we have some stuff in place.. for now lol.

Here is what we do!

In the morning we start with making our bed, getting dressed, teeth, hair… haha normal stuff.

We are working thought some learning books that I got years ago, and love them! They are “EXPLORE AND LEARNING”, there is a set of 6, these can be taught together or individually and covers lots of topics. The first one we are using is Earth and Space! I thought it would be a fun way to start home classes! We are hoping to start a volcano as one of the pages studies all about volcano’s with a craft to do one!

Great Learning Books!

We then do some math! I have limited worksheets, so we are working with what was in their books, I made some multiplying flash cards, other then those the kids are using a program through their school called mathletics! This is a great site as it uses what they are learning in class for their grade!

Worksheets from their books with flashcards I made!

Then we have a snack, or lunch depending on when we start and finish!

The kids will usually take the toddler out for a bit after lunch or they hang out quietly as I get the baby down for a nap, or some cleaning done or both!

How are you fitting in the school work, house work, and everything between?

After play time, and some outside chores, we come in!

In the afternoon we keep it easy, we are doing a novel study together here. I am excited for this one…. we are reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This is helping with listening skills, as I found some chapter questions online for elementary. They enjoy listening to the story!

Great survival book!

We are trying to keep up with reading, this is neither one of my kid’s favorite thing to do. My daughter is more into it, as long as she can read her own book, in her head! Which is fine but boy is she a fast trader some days lol!🤣🤦‍♀️ My son has a program he used at school a bit which he enjoys, plus makes it easier on me until I find something else to mix in. He is using readingeggs.com, this was set up in the school, along with another site he has but we where not stated or looked into yet! I do hope next week we can try!

One more thing that the kids are working on is their writing! Not everyday however, a couple times a week we will pick a topic for them to write about! Example… they wrote about plans for summer, school at home, the caronavirus and what we know and want to know!

I’m am trying to not make it hard, or over boring haha!

This is the learning curve we are working on this week!

I am finding ways to balance the kids, learning, cleaning, laundry, meals! My planner is being changed up a bit, to help sort everything out lol. With everything happening I am grateful to have my family all under one roof!

Loving My Planner!

Waiting to hear something week to week, this was a interesting couple weeks!

A reason of why my blog is so incredibly late! I had to be here 100% for my family as we got sittled in!

How has your time went?

Are you home, working?

How are you balancing everything?

I hope you enjoyed the look into my house this last couple weeks, with everyone here, learning and playing! Make sure you like the blog so I can do more like this one! Weekly prep

Prep some now to save time later!

Sunday!

That’s the day I use! The day of rest is my day to set up! One day out of the week, I use to see how much in can prep to make a smooth week!

There is always so much going on in the week!

Kids have school, hubby is on the road, kids have activities! 😥

Then there is still meals, laundry, homework, and never ending cleaning!

How as a mom, are we too do it all! 24 hours 7 days a week, there is always something to do.

“Take time for yourself, do what makes you happy”!

How?

There is so much on the go, with no finish line.

How to get that 5 minutes let alone 30 minutes for a rest?

This is where my weekly reset or prep day come in very nice. One day, I will just try! Hit the ground running and do it.

What do I do in that one day that makes a difference for at least Monday to Friday?

I will let you in on some task that I find really help set me up for a smoother week.

Sundays roll around and it’s becoming a habit, which is nice! It didn’t come over night, and I fell out of it fast, with a hard climb back up to it, with lots of room for improvement. However progress not protection I guess, right?

Sundays are always a nice chill at day anyways so why not set up the week. With this I mean tasks that will just give me those couple minutes through the week.

So let’s go through this day, shall we!

I always try to get the kids snacks ready for the week. Fruit and vegetables washed, and chopped, in a container to the fridge for easy access. Bread gets sliced as I make our bread! Sandwich stuff gets prepped like cheese sliced, lettuse washed and bag ect.

Carrot sticks, tossed salad and peppers this week!

Treats being made this day for the week, if there is time to make one. Not every week this one gets done!

I will get the floors done if they didn’t get done Saturday (which they usually don’t). This will be sweeping or vaccuming the main floor, and mopping with the mop and pail. I do this so throught out the week I can use my spray push mop.

Being able to use the speay mop throughout the week is great!

Kids backpacks get ready making sure all papers are looked over and back in.

Sundays are dump day, so all garbage gets gathered and out the door.

Everyone has a shower or bath to get ready for school, I am working on bathing the little ones on Mondays now tho.

Meal planning for the weeks gets at least started if not all figured and written out.

Getting back into meal planning one week at a time!

I will try to pull some of the meat out and onto a cookie sheet into the fridge so it can be unthawing at a slow speed.

As I am trying to get back into my workouts Sundays use to be and hopefully back to stretch day!

I try to get the kid’s to bed a little earlier as Mondays are hard lol. I will also try to make sure my evening routine is done that night, there is something about waking up to a fairly tidy house, and clean kitchen that is addicting! Especially on a monday morning!

Not perfect but still nice!

I aim to have this my night if not done already to sit down and set up my planner for the following week! A well planned and prepped week can make a big difference for myself!

I am loving the Febuary love, fun pretty look! 😍

What about you?

How do you set your week up?

One day?

Each night?

Do you prep for days, or day to day?

Let me know how you aim to make your week smoother?

I always try to do something the night before, that I will thank myself for the next day!

Sundays keep staying busy, with all 4 kiddos need to stuff prepped and gathered! This can eat up most of the evening, especially if mama is planning a shower as there needs enough time for me too have hot water, but not be at midnight lol!

Well, that about sums up how my Sunday’s go.

Do you prep form the week?

What day works for you?

Let’s get the ideas going, if we can safe 5 minutes, it’s worth it all!

Till next week have a great day, productive week and an amazing set up!

Declutter By Being G.R.E.A.T

Its coming along!

Have you ever got so excited about something, you don’t know how to exactly go with it!

How to present it!

How to bring it together!

This is a goal I had for a bit! I am excited to share this blog it’s to do with organizing!

where there is a dream there is a way!

As I am slowly gathering all sorts of different topics, ideas and goals for being a organizer and so I started with creating a organizing word!

This word is to help set the stages when it come to organizing and decluttering. To help keep it that way, make it seem less!

The word is G.R.E.A.T!

I picked this word because organizing can do great thing’s for one!

So just remeber “declutter by being great”! So what does this mean?

Well let’s go through it shall we!

I will start with what each letter stands for, then I will go into greater detail!

Start at G for garbage R for remove E is for eliminating A assign T is for together!

Now, let’s talk about each.

  • G for garbage this is what it sounds like, get ride of the garbage that is right there. Most of the procrastination is being over whelmed, but over 50% of the clutter is usually garbage! Grab a garbage bag and go around the room, I bet you will get more then you thought!
  • R remove, you need to remove every thing from the space you are working with. Gather it together, and out to see what’s actually there.
  • E eliminate the clutter, purge what you are not using or not loving any more. If it’s not for you anymore it’s ok, time to let go and make room!
  • A assign, the items that you are keeping need a home, so take this time to get a home for the stuff, or put it into the room it’s needing to be in.
  • Then T is for together, get your box or bins, add a label and keep the things together, this will help keeping items together and prevent the area from getting out of hand.

That is how you can become organized by being “G.R.E.A.T”!

I hope this will help motivate you and help you in getting started!

What do you think, can you remember the steps outlined.

I bet you can organize more then you would think with this simple word!

When there is a home, you can see what there is, you can know what there is!

Give it a try, let me know in the comments down below how it worked for you?

There is always more over on Facebook or over on Instagram! Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button to follow and notification on upcoming blogs.

Until next blog I hope you have a wonderful day and a great organizing week!

Prepping is planning and planning is prepping
( Don’t mind the older pic… planner gives it away 🤷‍♀️)

Morning Routine with 4 Kids And Coffee!

Good Morning! Birds are chirping, sun is coming up, and kids are waking up! Coffee is brewed and mamma is enjoying a cup! Mornings can be hard, whether you have kids in school, or little ones at home. In my case I have both, and I tell you my morning routine is proving to be very important here for a smoother morning!

Hi I’m Kandis and welcome to Classy Classic’s By Kandis. As I said I am a mother of 4 kids, a daughter who is 10, and 3 boys ages 8, 2 1/2 and 8 month old! Things can go from 0 to wow in no time! I have learned that we need a strong morning routine here. Do you have a morning routine? Let me know, how does it work for you?

I hope whether you have a routine or not you enjoy this blog on our morning routine and how we try to get the older kid’s ready and out the door for school, and mamma gets a couple things done. Let me know in the comments if you liked it, and I will be getting ready to post the afternoon blog here next!

Here we go my morning consists of the hours from 6:00 am to roughly 12:00 pm. This is “my morning” I get up at 5:30 but other the coffee and my planner nothing is happening as far as I hope in the morning. I have a “block system” I have wrote about, go have a read on how I break up my hours. I will also be doing an updated version soon.

Ok so…. 6 am oh my so early, this is because my hubby needs to get up and ready for road bound, as he is still dealing with his accident from March! So 6:00-7:00 is getting him up, having coffee and a quick chit chat, before he leaves usually before 7 am if he is running late then it’s by 7 he must be out.

7 am comes fast, if the stars have lined up then all 4 kids are hopefully still asleep. The younger ones tend to get up way to early some days. At roughly 7:15 it’s time to get the big kids up for school. If I have not made my bed and gotten dresses yet I will do this as I wait for them to get downstairs.
They are to make their beds, and get dressed before coming down to get ready for breakfast.

Breakfast depending on the day depends on what the choices are. We aim to be eating by about 7:30 as my children feel the need to take forever eating breakfast.
They then get ready for school with their morning list it can help, as they can go threw the list themselves. Hahaha they “should” be able too!
They are supposed to: make bed, get dressed, breakfast, vitamins, brush teeth, wash up, brush hair, pack backpack, and out the door! Yap that’s what they need over an hour to do!

After the kids are off to school, I get the little ones settled and content.
Then it’s kitchen clean up, nothing to big, unless its kitchen zone. Then I would have more there! Just a tidy to get ready for the next round. Then the baby is ready for a nap, usually he will take a nap in the morning. He will usually nap till about 10:30-11:00 depending!

Masyn my toddler will watch some tv, and have play time. This is also when I get my zone cleaning or specific tasks done, that can be with him awake. We will look over me zone cleaning soon. This is breaking the house into “zones” to help with outlines.

We then will try to get outside if weather is good.

Then just like it’s time to start lunch!

There you have it!
My morning in a nut shell, this is how my first 6 hours go!

There will be more on my tasks when the block system is updated and out, or go on over and have a read on it while you wait for an updated one.

How does your morning go?
How did you like the routine on our morning?
Think you might create one or change yours up?
