BEST PORK TENDERLOIN!
Hello and good morning! How did your week go? I hope everyone beat the crazy heat!! On my deck in the sun I will add but, still, my thermostat actually read +60 the one afternoon!! That is a crazy temperature for June in Saskatchewan!
It was definitely a non cooking week, my family was lucky if I put something I the slow cooker!!
It was a busy, hot, weekend here building a railing on our deck and playing in the sprinkler!
Now with the weather slowly cooling down, reality is coming back! There is really only a handful of days it seems like in the summer were I’m willing to cook in my oven! The nice thing about this recipe is it can be done in the oven, or on the barbecue if you want!
This recipe is a wonderful recipe it is delicious, it is easy to make, and all of my kids love it! I find it a really nice fall meal but, it is a really good crowd pleaser! With restrictions supposedly starting to get lifted I suspect people be getting antsy if they get together!
I find a great way to save is to buy whole tenderloin, so a good go to sauce is wonderful. This recipe calls for 2 lb tenderloin.
When are by my whole pork tenderloins, I can get two pork tenderloins for my family of six out of it, it’s can definitely help cut costs!
If your ready grab a paper and pen as you will want to write this one down, and give it a try!
What you will need is
- 2 lb tenderloin
- 1/4 cup soya sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of each cinnamon, cloves and garlic powder.
Mix together and marinate meat for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 425° cook for 15 minutes uncovered.
Reduce heat to 350° cover and cook for another 30 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes, slice diagonally.
This is paired with any side and is so good.
Give it a try let me know what you think of it in the comments down below.

GO TO SWEET & SOUR SAUCE!!!
Hello and good morning welcome to Classy Classics By Kandis!
It always seems like this time of the year suppers can be hard to figure out again! Who wants to be in the kitchen prepping and cooking when you need to be outside weeding and playing in water! Ok,well it’s not water season yet but it’s coming!
This is the time of year that I really like to either pre-plan summer suppers and/or get my freezer ready with some freezer meals.
There’s nothing better than being able to just pull something out that morning that night day before or whatever the prep time is, it’s nice to know that I have backup meals for when I get lazy!
One of my favorite things to do is the sweet and sour sauce, I use it on all sorts of stuff and it doesn’t take up much room in my freezer.
The sweet and sour sauce is super easy to make and I love making it with meatballs. Make some rice and you have a whole meal!
I tend to do all whole lot of Meatballs pre-cook them you can put them all into one bag and just pull out however many meatballs that you need!
With this recipe it calls for:
The meatballs are:
- Onion diced
- Warcheshire sauce
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 cups rolled oats or bread crumbs
- An egg
- 1/2 cup milk
Combine all ingredients and roll into balls line in bake dish cook 400° for 35 minutes or until done!
The sauce you will need:
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soya sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
Mix together in a sauce pan and stir, bring to a boil until thickened. Add meatballs or pour over! It is that simple and yes that yummy.
Need a supper plan give it a try, let me know what you think in the comments down below.

CLASSIC SHEPHERD’S PIE!

Hello, and good morning!
Happy Monday! How was your weekend I hope you had a great week!
There is so much that is changing at this time of year, the birds are making their homes, the sun is shining in between when we are getting snow here in Saskatchewan!
Where are you from? How is your weather are you having a normal spring? You having one like we are here in Saskatchewan where it is super nice one day and then it is super cold and snowing the next!
I should be used to it by now I have always lived in Saskatchewan but, it doesn’t make it any easier when you have cabin fever and you were just itching to get out.
It also doesn’t help that I don’t like the cold, and so on the cold days we stay inside and do extra laundry LOL!
So, with the week that we had there was definitely a couple cool days in there and on cool days why not make a good old shepherd’s pie!
Growing up I don’t really remember having Shepherds pie! I made it years ago when I was pulling us out of debt, and really really watching our grocery bill! We also only had two kids when I had started the budgeting, which makes a big difference but that’s not the point.
Shepherd’s pie I find to be one of the best budget friendly meals you can make I will make extra and freeze leftovers really easy! I find shepherd’s pie is really nice because you can pre cut the pieces and freeze them individually, you can do a pan and just freeze the pan and all you have to do is heat it up in the oven! It is a wonderful family and budget-friendly meal!
I thought I would take you a long and show you how I make shepherd’s pie in this house for on those colder days or on those tighter months!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- ground beef
- diced onions
- diced peppers
- garlic
- mixed vegetables
- potatoes (mashed)
- grated cheese
- spices…. salt, pepper, parsley…. what ever you want in it
You’re going to cook the ground beef, add the onions peppers and garlic and fry them together. Then add the mixed vegetables if you are using Frozen and let them simmer and unthaw with the meat.
Peel and boil the potatoes, strain add butter and milk and mash. Do you think you can put two aside until you were ready.
You are going to put the ground beef mixture into the bottom of a pan would ever say the pan when you’re making. Add mashed potatoes and spread them on top evenly top with as much cheese as you want as it does melt down quite a lot.
Preheat oven to 350 and bake for about 20 to 30 minutes until the cheese is brown and bubbly.
If you were making into a freezer meal simply at aluminum foil to the top but your label on.
If you do not have time to unthaw it before you go to cook it next time that is okay all I want you to do is keep the foil on, put the pan into the oven while it is preheating and add about 45 minutes to it.
This is one of the easiest freezer meals that I have done. You can make tons and stack them in your freezer they are good for up to six months in your freezer if properly covered and stored.
It’s the perfect time of year to start getting my freezer cleaned out and stocked up for summer with some summer meals! I’m going to try my hardest to blog as much of it for you guys as I can.
