Morning Again…Let’s Get Ready???

Good morning and welcome to Classy Classic’s By Kandis! I am I stay at home mom of 4 kids, two of them are in school, one is going to be starting play school in the fall, and one is still at home for a couple years.

With summer holidays slowly coming to an end already… I thought I’d better start setting my alarm and getting my morning routine going again. I always have a morning routine but I have been finding myself being a little more cranky would not getting up before the kids and getting my time in first.

I thought what a better blog post then a morning routine when I’m trying to get back into my morning routine. Now a morning routine doesn’t have to be a big thing, you don’t need to get up early or try to before the kids get up! However, I do! lol! I truly love morning coffee before the storm!

My morning routines I try to keep very basic, I try to keep it as me relaxed, prepping for the day as I can. I find I get a lot more antsy and my patience is not real great if I don’t take trying to wake up and start my own day before littles because, they’re the ones that need the most attention in the morning right, before they get up and start LOL!

A habit that I had started and am trying to keep every morning is to wash up and get myself ready-ish for the day! I try to have a coffee, get dressed and wash up!

With my morning routine I have a wonderful line from Monat! These products are amazing and with 3 kinds of skin care lines there is one for everyone! I use “BE BALANCED” which is targeted for normal and combined skin! There is also a line for oily and sensitive skin! There is hair, and skin care, junior line and a new men’s line!

I will leave a link for any monat products, there is something for all hair hair and skin types and this is a line that is used by all ages in my house lol.

Let’s talk getting ready and what I use and love in the morning! 🌄

Let’s start with coffee in the morning I guess! Where else does one start?

I had a tim Horton coffee pot it’s a Bunn type!?!? lol What I can tell you is that I pour water in and with the hot water tank on the back always ready it takes a LOT less time and will make my pot of coffee in roughly 5 minutes! We have been using tim hortons coffee grounds for a couple years and that is now my go to home coffee!

I then try to wash up and brush my teeth and possibly brush my hair!

The products that I use to wash up and hopefully wake up in the morning are:

be balanced face wash

normal and combined skin for skin that likes balanced moisture and oil for a large open pores and age control

be balanced lightweight moisturizer

normal combined skin for skin that lacks balanced hydration for loss of radiance, firmness and elasticity helps with softness and smoothness I use this one in the morning I have a different one that I use for bedtime. this can be used night and day tho.

skin revitalizing essence

A lightweight miracle water that quickly hydrates and replenishes, giving a smoother, brighter, more radiant complexion to all skin types

C. radiance illuminating serum

Helping with dull complexion environmentally damaged skin uneven skin tone including dark spots, blemishes and hyperpigmentation fine lines and wrinkles and loss of elasticity and texture

eye smooth

helps fine lines and wrinkles around eyes helps with dark circles, puffiness, under eye bags and crowd feet around the eye also helps with dryness! I use this morning and night.

This is how I get ready for the morning or the most mornings! I then have my chores with my morning routine. I will get dressed, make my bed, work in my planner, get breakfast ready for whatever kids are up then…. it is still summer break!

This is part of my me time for in the mornings! There is a new season coming with school coming back in, and the kids getting bigger!

I had thought I better get going on the basics of the mornings, my kids are back in school in less then 3 weeks!

I am hoping to get school supplies done and some school cupboards organized and cleaned!

What are you doing to prepare for back to school?

Do you prep or go with it?

I hope you liked this blog on my me time getting ready to tackle a day with the kids!

There will be links to monat and also to my other social media pages!

Head over and come say hi!

A new chapter is starting again, I had bounced back and forth on what to do with the page! I then remembered why I started and love the blog!

Make sure you follow along to see all the fun we are going to have this coming winter!

Until next week have a great day, a wonderful weekend and a productive week!

Bye for now!!!!

MONEY SAVING SUMMER TIPS!

Good morning!

Happy Monday! How was your week?

I have had a busy week! Trying to stay motivated to get stuff done! Trying to stay connected online with chores and summer play between, time get tight!

Summer time tends to fly by in an experience blurr! With having 4 kid’s I have learned that with the toys, snacks, food, entertainment and late nights they can NEED A LOT! Lol.

There is a couple tips and tricks I have learned and picked up the along to save some money for a less expensive summer!

These money savers are my most go to for summer savings!

Looking for a way to save some extra money this summer, here are 10 of my favorite summer savings hacks!

Designated Days For Take Out Or Fun Food Day!

When it comes to summer it’s all about BBQs, take out, lake days and quick store food. This can all really add up quickly. If this is what I am doing everyday or multiple times it can get hard to not overspend, slurg and end up wasting a lot of food I find in the end. One of my best tips for this is to have a designated day once a week or every once a month to go out and do something for supper or a fancier meal. I good themed lunch 9r supper can be just as fun if not funner then take out or a burger from a stand!

Dollar Tree Finds

When it comes to you keeping kids and even the adults entertained it can sure get tricky and it can all add up really fast. I final lot of things are the same quality sometimes even the same brands at the Dollar Tree vs a bigger retail store. With this my kids break toys so fast, I just watch this money go into the garbage bag. So with this I I have a lot of my stuff if not most of my stuff for summer entertainment from the Dollar Tree or dollar stores in general. There is something that I have learnt is a better deal that are quality products at say Walmart been at the dollar store. If you want a blog done about Dollar Tree vs Walmart products leave a comment down below I think it would be really fun!

Prep The Snacks and Meals

I find that because my children feel that they need to eat every 20 minutes it can be crazy to try to keep them content and full. If I take the time to prep snack foods and parts of meals even one day a week to do me for the week, it can make a huge difference. If I take this time to prep snacks for a road trip vs dealing with all of the take out or gas station food this also makes a huge difference.

Make A Plan Ahead Bag

This one is easy but very helpful tip. With having pre-pack bag this comes in handy in all situations. I like to keep an extra change of clothes, extra water and of course snacks. Also diapers with wipes maybe a couple toys and I usually try to carry a little bit of cash around with me.

Seek And Find Free Or Low Cost Activities!

It can be hard to not go to all the water parks or theme parks there’s whatever the summer is jiving. However, there is tons of free if not really small fee activities throughout the summer oh, you just sometimes have to really look for it. There is parks to play at, if you can find a small Lake that you don’t have to pay to get into or at least most lakes their daily fee is not much this is something that you can do maybe once a week and if you can’t find one that doesn’t have a fee.

Reusable Contains

This is one of the best things that I can usually use in the summer. The snack bags just end up being everywhere, and it can be hard to get them open and close or specially if you have sticky you with whatever gross hands. These you can usually get for a good deal at Walmart or when in doubt head up on your Dollar Trees. This way if they get or when they get lost or broke it’s not a biggie it was really a dollar or less.

Drink That water

Water, water, water! It’s really important that we keep up on your water as much as I just want to drink coffee all day, drinks in that expensive you can hit up the Bulk Barn to get some out of juice at a fairly good deal, against stuff like this is also sold at a dollar store up to you whether you feel comfortable with stuff like that from the dollar store but, water as long as you’re not buying bottled by bottle is a cheaper drink.

If It’s In A Wrapper It’s Not For Home

This is one that like kids don’t really care for but this rule however it does Save-A-Lot. Those special D snacks those really yummy goodies, the granola bars, the gushers, fruit snacks these are all fairly pricey when you break them down. Simple rule that we follow is that it’s in a wrapper then those expensive specialty candies it’s not to be eating at the house, these are for when we’re in the car and offer fun days. When you’re at home you can go and make something much easier and save those for on the road.

Everyone Gets Their Own

This one is an easy way to prep everything and a simpler way to stop song fighting. Everybody gets the same thing, everybody gets a drink the same amount of snacks depending on kid size lol, and it all goes into a backpack or usually a lunch kit. You want a smarf down all of your snacks in 20 minutes then you’re not going to have it, they want to save their snacks for the whole trip then you have them. But everybody has the same variety usually.

Routines And Pre-Plan

I will always have routines in place! If you have been following me for any length of time you have probably realized by now I enjoy being as organized as a mother of four can be. With this I like having routines and pre-planned game plans because it can really help stop all day boredom. I have a morning and an evening routine I try to stick with and I like to know about any bigger plans so I can have certain stuff packed or prepped ready to go also saving a ton of money when you head out somewhere if you are already prepped with some clothes, snacks, maybe toys Etc.

These are some of my go-to favourite summer money saving tips. I have used these for years but most of them I will always use now some of them I don’t use as strong or all the time depending on what else is happening in life at that time.

If you enjoyed this blog go ahead and like it leave a comment I would love to do more blogs like this I like talking about budgeting and different ways to save a couple bucks here and there.

Make sure you also follow me on my social media Pages there’s Instagram and Facebook. I tend to do more on Facebook than Instagram but again depends on what’s happening in life oh, I also tried to upload a new blog every Monday.

I will leave the links down below or my other pages there’s just a little more personal day today stop happening over there. Hope to see you over there make sure you stop to say hi.

Until next week have a wonderful day, a great weekend and a productive week.

SUMMER ROUTINE!

Hello, good morning!

Welcome back to another blog with me! Hi I’m Kandis with Classy Classics By Kandis!

I am a stay-at-home mom with 4 kids 2 are classed as big kids and 2 are classed as little kids! All in the aged of 12 down to 2 years year old!

Our summer routine tends to look a little different time to time however, usually works out pretty close to the same!

The kicker with the summer vacations is my big kids go to their grandparents for a bit to the summer holidays, and so we tend to do more routine for just me and the littles!

The littles dont have much chores I have found that with my last two kids I’m not near as stricked on the littles with helping as I was when the older ones were!

So, I thought I would share our summer routine with how I have it set up for the day!

This will be more of a quick outline and if you would like more of a details routine give me a thumbs up and leave a comment and I would love to do one more detailed routine!

Like I was saying this one is going to be more for my outline through the day and what I tried to have outlined and needing to be done!

My day tends to start early lately as my youngest still feels he needs to be up at 6:30 am. During this time I try to enjoy some coffee depending on how whinny he wakes up, I came to try to sit down and just relax in the morning playing part of my games and checking Facebook, Snapchat, working on my blog stuff like that!

I will then sit down and work on my planner figure out what I’m trying to do for cooking, cleaning, possibly baking and other just day-to-day tasks.

Not all of my kids get up at the same time like by no means so breakfast usually consist of whoever’s up for the most part what they would like. I don’t always do big breakfast but, pre prepped breakfast can be really convenient.

After some lovely coffee time I will then get going on our morning. Usually, around 7:30 I will try to get dressed, wash up I use monat and my skin, I love it I have done a routine on my skin care that I will leave linked, I will also leave my monat shopping link for you to check out!

mymonat.com/beyondhair

A GOOD DAY STARTS WITH A GOOD MORNING ROUTINE!

I started using monat over a year ago and I do not plan on going back to normal shampoo conditioner or skincare it is really wonderful products and it’s changed my days.

After all of that I will usually try to start organizing my day I get going on my morning chores. I tend to try to do more of my tasks in the morning so, that we can try to get outside before lunch and after naps without having a complete disaster of a house.

During nap time, I will aim to try to do either work in the yard, then some cleaning that didn’t get done and it just may be easier without the toddlers! There are some days where I might just need to lay down and take a nap, I don’t always do the best with that though and I tend to sometimes feel bad about it even when I’m not supposed to.

Then, after nap we will usually get up have snack and head outside or find some toys depending on what the weather is like.

I will start thinking about supper if not start prepping it, tidy up outside or just fill in those couple hour gap with sometimes. Something usually needs to be done LOL. Seems like a mother’s job is never done does it.

After supper I will clean up the kitchen get the dishwasher going any dishes that needed to be hand washed done just the kitchen whites and tidied up.

I try to sweep at night but that doesn’t always happen depending on how everything is shaping up that night.

Around 7:30 or so is the toddler’s bath or shower time we will then get on pyjamas and finish tidying up the toys and maybe watch a little bit of a movie before you get me ready for bed.

Around 8:15 8:30 is bedtime snack followed by teeth, find their bottles get them filled up and ready for bed. I try to have the littles in bed right around 9 my four-year-old will tend to just play in his room well in his bed until he falls asleep. The youngest you just go to bed because it he’s going to get up at 6:30 in the morning then he can just go to bed LOL.

Then from 9 to 10 I will usually do another task that can get done whether it be some sort of a cleaning task or back into my garden to get a little more done. Then I will come in wash up, get on pyjamas and watch my Netflix until I either put myself to sleep or just passed out sitting up in bed this does happen more than what I would plan.

That is my summer routine in a nut shell, it keeps me busy I am trying to learn how to take a step back sit down maybe I smell a flower now and then and not just weed them continuously but, you do what you got to do for the stuff that you want I guess right.

I hope you enjoyed this blog or my summer routine do you have a summer routine?

Doesn’t change every day?

I have kind of kept my morning afternoon and evening routines to a degree as my cleaning routines I have become a very big routine and so they just kind of stayed for the most part in place.

I hope you have a wonderful summer oh, I hope you make wonderful family memories oh, and I hope to see you when mask supposably left here in Saskatchewan. If you want some more fun little more personal details of what I am doing in my days make sure you head over to one of my other social media pages and either on Facebook or on Instagram.

I do tend to go on Facebook more right now than I do Instagram I turn to friend in and out of Instagram.

I will of course though we’ve both links down below, head over to either one of them or both don’t forget to check out my monat page if you have any questions about any products do not hesitate to ask away. I love them and I know you will fall in love.

Until next week have a great day, a wonderful weekend and a productive week.

BEST PORK TENDERLOIN!

Hello and good morning! How did your week go? I hope everyone beat the crazy heat!! On my deck in the sun I will add but, still, my thermostat actually read +60 the one afternoon!! That is a crazy temperature for June in Saskatchewan!

It was definitely a non cooking week, my family was lucky if I put something I the slow cooker!!

It was a busy, hot, weekend here building a railing on our deck and playing in the sprinkler!

Now with the weather slowly cooling down, reality is coming back! There is really only a handful of days it seems like in the summer were I’m willing to cook in my oven! The nice thing about this recipe is it can be done in the oven, or on the barbecue if you want!

This recipe is a wonderful recipe it is delicious, it is easy to make, and all of my kids love it! I find it a really nice fall meal but, it is a really good crowd pleaser! With restrictions supposedly starting to get lifted I suspect people be getting antsy if they get together!

I find a great way to save is to buy whole tenderloin, so a good go to sauce is wonderful. This recipe calls for 2 lb tenderloin.

When are by my whole pork tenderloins, I can get two pork tenderloins for my family of six out of it, it’s can definitely help cut costs!

If your ready grab a paper and pen as you will want to write this one down, and give it a try!

What you will need is

  • 2 lb tenderloin
  • 1/4 cup soya sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of each cinnamon, cloves and garlic powder.

Mix together and marinate meat for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 425° cook for 15 minutes uncovered.
Reduce heat to 350° cover and cook for another 30 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes, slice diagonally.
This is paired with any side and is so good.

Give it a try let me know what you think of it in the comments down below.

Got a good tenderloin recipe? I would love to hear it!

Like new recipes? Make sure hit that like button to follow the blog I try to post every Monday, if not Monday’s then I at least try as hard as I can to get it one up every week!

Looking for some long tip tips and tricks, make sure you head over and follow on the other social media pages! I try to post more on there just more personal day today tips tricks and fun! What I am cooking, cleaning and just trying to tackle for that day and of course some fun planning thrown in there.

PREPPING FOR SUMMER!

Hello and good morning! Summer is coming fast now! Kids are on their last day of school if not out now, garden is growing and the tan is coming along nice!

With summer here it seems to mean what seems like jamming as much as possible into like 2 months! Mine are done at the end of June heading back beginning of September!

With cleaning, garden, yard projects, trips and a family time it’s busy trying to do it all and with 4 kids home asking for a snack lol every minute.

I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 kids, 2 are in school, 1 starts playschool in the fall and 1 is still at home for a couple years!

There is a few things I have to realize that it is just easier to have some plans in place! A game plan set! Some lists created!

There is nothing I love more than sitting down and making some good summer lists!

This can be done on ANYTHING! A peice of paper, a fun summer book, make a fun chart on Canva or, just with the kids art stuff! What ever your time is or your passion is it can work any way you need it to!

I will usually start with just paper and a pen! If I find motivation or time I will then make them up different to just add some summer fun! It’s surprising to see the difference a fun pattern can do for a list! haha

I find that there is more categories that I crop then I thought just thinking quickly!

My summer lists this year include:

  • Cleaning
  • Meals and snack ideas
  • Meal prep and freezer meals
  • Vehicle cleaning and summer prep
  • Routines
  • Trips or any “vacation” planning
  • Projects
  • Outside chores for routines or not

This is why I say it can be easier to sit down and make that list, that hopes and dream lists! I would never of had the brain power or space to have all that floating around vs being on a good old peice of paper! lol

Squirrel brain at its finest here lol!!

Let’s break it down now into the lists in the categories you have down! REMEMBER YOUR SUMMER LIST WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AS SOMEONE ELSE’S!

CLEANING

This is a very big area and so, when I put cleaning it is going to be broken down to the deep cleaning! The daily cleaning will get put on the routines! I do my spring cleaning in the winter so, my “cleaning” this summer is for tasks that can only really be done in the summer like:

– shampooing rugs

– outside windows

– cleaning camper, shop

– vehicle cleaning and prep can go here too!

ect…

MEALS AND SNACKS!

Meals and snacks are a forever ongoing thing in my house! With how much the “snack” food costs I try to have snacks planned! We also follow Jordan Page and the “If it’s in a wrapper it’s not to be eaten at home!” They are the most expensive thing to go the fastest in the house! So, if we are in the car, at a park etc, then those are the snacks that I will pack for them more! If we are at home then the wrapped goodies don’t come out! So, having snacks planned can make it easier not to grab them on those lazy hot days, or the busy working day!

Meals I find I waste less, spend less and eat better when I can have a good meal plan in place! There is definitely a difference in the foods that are eaten in the winter vs summer! So, having a good list to choose from can make summer meal planning and freezer meals easier! I love freezer meals in the summer for the days I don’t want to be in the kitchen or, super busy days they come in so much help!

ROUTINES

My routines always get a new outline to them! Most of the things stay the same as what they do through the year but there is definitely some things I need to change as there is no school now. So, what the only things that really change is the afternoon and a little bit of our morning routine but, for the most part the only thing that’s kind of changes is the time frames. It’s, can be nice not needing to worry about getting up for school going to bed at a good time because of school, however if I don’t have some structure in place I find that’s a little will to get way too over tired and my big kids will just try to not sleep at all. I tried to keep up with reading through the summer and depending on how the kids are doing we will try to do math and spelling also. Not a lot I don’t ask a lot for them about 15 minutes per subject.

TRIPS AND/OR FAMILY TIME

This one is still kind of up in the air with what exactly might happen with how the summer might go! But, when it comes time to planning and trying to prep what might happen, this is in regards to things like:

Are the big kids going to the grandparents for the summer?

For how long?

Are we going to do anything with the littles while they are gone?

Are we trying to go somewhere this year with everyone since we might be able to actually do stuff like that this year LOL!

So, that is part of what I mean when I say trips and family time! Also are we planning any beach time we’re not big on public places so when we do we try for lakes, or go with a group of friends!

This is all things that I would like to have a game plan for not sketched in stone but, would like to have an idea of what I might need to maybe pick up from Walmart or Dollar Tree when I’m in the city next just little things to make it easier when the time comes!

PROJECTS AND OUTSIDE CHORES!

This is going to cover all outside projects and the garden! This is going to be for trees to be planted, we are trying to get a railing up maybe on our deck, any other building or maintenance work outside! I would like to have a game plan or an idea so we can start getting a budget and time and supplies figure it out LOL! Other things would be something like outside equipment or pools or toys that I’m trying to get for outside for the kids, getting the camper cleaned up we are getting ready to sell our camper so, that has to be cleaned out and ready! With that are we going to go camping with the camper one more time? This will also be are we making a sitting area outside what kind of play areas am I going to try to DIYs things like that so again I have an idea of what I might want to look for when I do get to the city now and then in the summer! This will also include a garden list of things to get done in the summer!

There you have it that is how I prep myself for the most part for summer break!

How do you get ready for your kids home for the summer?

If you like this by blog I hope you please do it a thumbs up so I know to do more like it. Also you can follow me on my other social media Pages for some a good day daily cleaning, cooking ideas extra cleaning motivation and just mom life stuff.

I’ll leave the links down below come along and follow me for some mom fun!

Have a great day I wonderful weekend a productive week I’ll talk to you next week.

Homemade Burgers For The Win! 😎

Summer time!

We tend to what seems like eat way more in the summer months!
Maybe it seems like it, maybe because I don’t want to cook, when it’s so nice out.
Who want to do the same thing everyday like cook supper when you can be out playing in the sun.
This is a reason why I love freezer meals, but if freezer meals is not your jive, or you don’t have any on hand.
Have no fear mama Kandis is here lol.
Hi I’m Kandis a stay at home mom and wife. I have 4 children ages from 12 down to 2 years! I tell you food can go fast here, I’m always thinking on what’s the next thing to make! What to do for supper again tonight Lol!🤣
So let’s talk burgers, easy, fast and will save you money!
Sounds magical to me lol, so let’s start!
There is always those go to summer meals. Those foods that seem ok to constantly eat over and over in the summer.
In this house one of our staple go to foods is good old burgers!
What is your staple summer foods, something that no matter what the family will eat and usually enjoy!
With burgers it’s just easy right!
Make a salad, or some fries or just have the burgers! Grill them, bake them fry them it does not matter!
Have them at home, bbq at a friend’s house or camping!
You can have them anywhere!
So here is how I make my burgers that take only minutes to get ready.
Pre cook some pop them into the freezer, or leave them uncooked and freeze them.
It does
Either way that works or just eat them all and save none because, well they are yummy haha.
I have been making my burgers this way for years, and I will not stop making my homemade burgers. Actually would you believe me when I say I have not had a premade burger in at least 8 years. 🤤
That is really how quick and easy and of coarse delicious they are!😉
If your ready then let’s go, and talk burger making!
This is a recipe that can be make small or big you will see how easy it is to make lots at once.

You will need for a batch is:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • Diced onion
  • Spices what ever spices you want I use parsley, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika

In a bowl mix all together
I use a measuring cup usually at least 1/4 cup
Scoop meat mix and flatten into a patty, place on cookie sheet and repeat!
Yap it’s that easy!

Grill, bake or fry about 10 min per side or until cooked all way through depending on the size of burgers you have made!

Then sit back and enjoy!

What are you waiting for you can be eating burgers any day of the week, with this easy go to yummy burger recipe!

I hope this helps get you through some of the summer days of the cooking cleaning, and repeat.
Go ahead and make a batch or 2 or 3 lol it will come in handy as the days get hot and the nights get long!

MY GARDEN SO FAR! ♥

Hi good morning, welcome to another blog with me! I’m Kandis with Classy Classics By Kandis! I am a stay-at-home mom a for kids ages 12, 10, 4, and 2 years old!

I definitely am on my feet and on my toes all the time. With so many kids especially with so many boys three of them are boys, the groceries that goes with this house is unbelievable!

This is the reason why I need my garden, it’s not even want anymore and so need because of how many mouths there are lol.

I am a Frugal Living, budget loving, planner addicted stay home mom lol!

I have always loved growing stuff in a garden I have done a garden for about 10 years now, this is my second year for a garden in the spot oh, and I tell you I am still learning all sorts of stuff!

I thought as my garden is coming along now, all planted and ready to make me food, I would take you through my garden steps!

The kicker with my garden is anything that is grown in a garden can usually be grown also in a container!

What ever your garden space is or your time frame for planting you can also grow something but, beware gardening can be addictive! 😉

I love my flowers and trees as much as my garden! It is like a snow ball effect lol!

With the family growing the size of my garden definitely has too! With all the daily tasks already the kicker with adding is just that, adding more tasks to that already growing list! Make sure you don’t bite more then you can chew!

There is definitely a couple things I have learned in how to make the garden life easier to enjoy!

My garden got extended this year however, this is the size it will be now! So, couple years of hard work and it should get easier and easier! If you have a spot that has been there for years already then it will be easier already then starting one from scratch!

The first thing that I start with is to get right ground worked out and rotor tell, that’s your I actually made sure to get it spray with round up because it was extended again and it is a new garden that I am trying to to work with.

The next thing I did was I had went in to the garden and literally counted how many my feet the garden was oh, I say my feet because I have smaller feet so it’s not going to be like a full foot or something right LOL.

Then I get going on my outline oh, I had already done a rough outline to know what I needed to fit into the garden and tell you how to maybe make my sections. I’ll tell you more about my sections when we get to it.

So then the next thing that I have to do is I design my garden all of this can be done on a piece of paper or in a gardening book if you have one depending on how detailed you are and how many years you have been gardening. I said I have a gardening book because they say every five years to rotate your garden oh, they also say to watch what you plant in what soil and by what oh, so I find it easier to know where and what went where in case something goes wrong or I’m just trying something or I need to swap my rows around.

With the garden this year again I have it in 3 sections if you will! I have a section that contains short these are rows that are going across my garden as some things like to grow in shorter rows, it says its better for the growing! This is like radishes and carrots!

Then I have a section that I call my long grows oh, this is because they are just that long rows! These are used what’s my peas, beans and cucumbers.

Then on my third section I call my patch, this is because it typically will have my pumpkins, squash, zucchini, and any melons that I can find or start. There’s one by using a patch because they are super viney plants and they tend to spread across a large section oh, they will also choke out other plants smaller plants if you didn’t know LOL.

With this being the biggest garden that I have ever had and bigger than what I ever dreamed I would have there is a couple things that I am trying to figure out to make it just a little easier to keep up with it all.

With this I have a rototiller and I am hoping that my rows are big enough to make it through at least once, and then I just have to weed around my plants or rows.

Another thing that I am going to try this year some homemade Roundup and that way I won’t be as potent on my plants but I do know that it does work on me it’s because I have used it for years! So with this I’m going to see if I can use some homemade Roundup just do not like a spray bottle, for my weeds in between the rows and my flower bed! I will give you an update on how it goes for me lol when the time comes!

For the homemade Roundup you would need:

  • vinegar
  • table salt
  • blue original Dawn dish soap

With June all of a sudden half gone and our weather still pretty crazy hitting + 5 the at night it’s still pretty chilly at night for June and, my watermelon, cantaloupe and homeydews! So, my melons haven’t gone out yet it is actually still too cold at night for them and I am not going down to my garden to cover them at night because that is too cold!

There ya have it! My garden update so far! It is not perfect but it sure didn’t help the weeding that I got the seeds planted and then we have had a week of on and off thunderstorms lol! I will not complain about that I love storms and we sure needed the rain! However, remember when your plants are doing good the weeds are doing great!

I will do another garden update when everything is up more and rocking and rolling!
