SELFCARE FRIDAY

Hello and good morning!

This week has sure been a blurr, the garden is coming out, organizing hq sessions is coming to an end and Thanksgiving is coming fast… in Canada!

We do Thanksgiving October here, not November! It can make the months definitely fly by!

Some fall decorations this year! I love this one I did up!

I thought with all the crazy times of the holidays coming up…. like the next 3 months is big holidays! Whoop whoop! I should really be trying to get ready to be back inside!

I don’t head outside near as much in the cooler days and winter days here in Saskatchewan! I’m not a big cold fan! Go figure I live where it can drop to -40°c and colder!!! 😱🥶

It is beautiful tho in the winter!❤

I find in between all the hustle and bustle of the big holidays, being inside not being active and in and out on the house in the garden and all the fresh air it really changes somebody’s mood.

It can be really hard to find ways to stay healthy are going to keep your energy up and to just stay motivated through the cold winter days. So, I’m really excited about what is now available to order in Canada through monat!

Monat is a company that specializes in Hair, Skin and Wellness! Their products are non-toxic and plant-based! I have been using it for just over a year and I will not go back to other brands I am truly so impressed and happy with these products that I do believe that it will change somebody’s way that they think of hair and skin products! I will leave my link for my monat site if you want to go and browse check things out read up on stuff you can always reach out to me on any products!

There was recently a launch for one of their wellness line and I’m so excited! I had to order it to try, another thing with monat is it is not sold in stores but, they always have a sale on! Every week there is an amazing sale! This makes it easy to get top products at a low cost!

Back to the product! This one is the collagen key! This is a all in one powdered formula to help maintain head to toe health! From teeth to skin it has the nutrients your body needs!

With the winter coming and life slowing down but getting busy at the same time! I find to get selfcare in can be tricky and with having limited time what do you pick for the self care time! This is a one scoop wonder that is going to save me time and money on my nutrition self care part!

I am too excited to try this I had to share it lol!

Have any questions about the types of products, what they target, what to use with what etc!

Ask away I am learning and loving it more each day!

Have a great day, a wonderful weekend and a productive week!

Bye for now!

FALL IS IN THE AIR!

Hi good morning!

It is crazy to think that fall is around the corner! 🍂 I’m pretty sure I has just did a blog about planting the garden lol. 👩‍🌾Now, the garden is dieing down and we are getting ready for leaves to fall time!

It is always a hard transition for me from summer to another season lol. I love fall, the smell of the crisp air the vibes, the fun decorations and pies! 🥧🍂

I am not a fan of the cold so, when it’s time to be getting fire wood and pickling or freezing goodies I know my tanning days are gone!

I shouldn’t say that is has been a very wonky summer/ fall. FUN FACT: Fall does not begin according to the calendar until September 22nd! 🗓Just saying! Hahaha

This summer it was a different year! There was so much on the go but, of coarse not all got done!

I tend to try to book my projects to the seasons I have some tasks that “overlap” this is so, when the weather changes I still have an idea of what I’m trying to get done before it too late and goes on next year’s list!

There is always tasks that need to get done at the end of summer, I guess these are coming up to my prioritize list soon. lol

When summer ends the chores get tight! With needing the garden out before its to cold! This year is extra important as I am doing extra steps in my garden this year to help me next year.

So my garden, is going to have to be pulled right away, let me know if you want to blog then about how the garden went?

This year I have plans on getting my garden cleaned out and rotatilled before the snow hits. This can be a hard sometimes because we don’t know when it’s going to start to freeze obviously but, especially here in Saskatchewan we have had some close to freezing and it’s already so it can be a tough call.

It is getting close the plants are getting lower every day! I have been pulling produce and every day check to see what is needing to come out! Cabbage is actually coming out next!

I got my fall decor box pulled to the front of my holiday crawlspace so, I can get some fall decorations up! I don’t have many but, there is not much time between “fall” decor Thanksgiving to Halloween so I never worried about it!

I thought I would do a good cleaning job around the house! Some dusting, wiping, sweeping and a good mop! Get everything tidied up then get what I have out and places too see if I want more! This is definitely not a need so, I try to make what I have work! The kids can always just make some decorations too if needed!

Do you decorate for fall?

Do you just wait till Halloween?

With this being still a “new” house since we just moved in about 3 years ago I am excited to make so many fun memories here!

I am trying to not make it crowded but, still look cute!

Want more personal day to day posts from to do list, cleaners, organizing just mom life?

BACK TO BASIC BED TIME!

Hi good morning welcome to classy classics by Kandis. I am a stay at home mom of 4 children ages 12 down to the age of two!

If this is the first time you’ve ever read one of my blogs hi, I am a basic, planner loving, routine needed mother. I love a good routine, great coffee and sitting down playing with planner trying to see if I can get my ducks in a row! Lol.

With school back in I needed to really get back into our night routine. This is actually an important factor I have been learning as I was trying to implement a nice bedtime routine for when my older kids went back to school and my daughter was still sleeping in until why I don’t even know when.

Do you have a night routine?

I try to be flexible with mine but I try to be consistent at the same time it’s a hard balance for me but I am trying.

I thought what better time then to sit down and write out a new routine or a evening routine then here then for a blog talk.

I found that summer was a different summer this year I’m not sure quite what it was or maybe it is just that I was busy and my brain had to be a little more flexible this year then some years but it definitely seemed to be a quick, dry go get it year.

My bedtime routine or my evening routine goes from the hours of somewhere between about 7 and 9 p.m. I have been trying to get the younger kids to bed a little earlier than 9:00 but they sure fight me on it they’ve always kind of gone to bed at 9 but, that’s just a little late for mommy sometimes. But, it might have to stay close to 9 depending on how smooth everything ends up going.

How to start!

The first thing I like to do when choosing a new routine is to figure out the top priorities of that time!

The top things that I know I had to have in the evening routine is:

  • Table cleared
  • dishes done and dishwasher started
  • kids cleaning or zone cleaning chores
  • snack
  • Teeth
  • Pajamas
  • bed time story

I will always but in even the most basic tasks as they do need to be done and they do take time!

This is the ideas that I had included in the 2 hours that is set out for the “evening routine”.

How do you set out a new routine?

This is something I will set out as a sample hourly set up, as the nights go on it will be easier to see what works when and, what might need to be moved or swapped with something else!

The nice thing about a routine is that you set it! You create it! You can change it to however works beat for your family!

The biggest mistake when trying to create a routine is to try to just do someone else’s. Now, it’s awesome to use the idea or outline but, don’t be scared to change it! It’s your routine make it yours! Not everybody’s lifestyle and hours are the same!

Find what outline works best for you and go from there!

Does a hourly work?

Maybe try a block system!

Maybe a schedule vs a routine!

The best way to start is to find the top 3-5 things that are top priority for you and build from there!

It’s just paper it’s all able to be edited or revamped!

I know that my routines will need to be worked on through the winter! There is definitely different chores as the seasons change!

I look forward to the new routines coming in with the new school year coming in!

If you would like to join me in the following weeks with the routines let me know! Like the blog, leave a comment, or just join the fun!

I hope this has encouraged you to try a new routine! I find it makes my days go a little smoother if I can get into a good realistic routine!

If this is your jive make sure to check out my other social media pages too!

Back To School Prep!

Hi good morning, happy Monday! How is your weekend? How is your week?

Can you believe not in about a week the kids are going back to school! In Saskatchewan in my division like the kids go back to school September 2nd. My toddler is starting play school but, he doesn’t start until the beginning of October.

When does school start where you are?

I have 4 kids, 12, 10, 4 and 2! It gets to be a bit full in the mornings here ok, let’s be honest it’s bananas here ALL THE TIME! lol!

I feel there is a couple things that definitely make back to school prepping easier, so why not get my butt in gear and get going on all the fun of back to school!

This year my oldest is going into grade 7, it is exciting for her as in our school we don’t have a different school for “Junior High” there is a different hallway, a different side of the school for these grades.

There was definitely a little bit of a difference this year in school supplies as one kid is still classed as elementary he is in grade 6 this year and then of course my daughter is going into junior high.

I find some of these back to school supplies to be quite a lengthy list, which is fine I get it you need stuff for school I remember those days of needing all sorts of stuff also trying to throw some really cool stuff into the cart. So, when my kids are wanting to get some really funky stuff depending on what it is we definitely try to compromise.

This year when we started thinking about back to school I asked the kids if we could reuse some stuff. Then the kids were going to start downstairs.

Now, they started downstairs because I ended up the de-clutter a bunch of my living room stuff and all of my back to school supplies went downstairs into a dresser.

This is where my children started we had their list and I shood them down stairs and just told them where to go look and what to look for.

I was thrilled when they agreed to start in our overflow area if you will because, my one kid needed seven binders let alone everything else. So, I will tell you we saved a big chunk of money just by sorting through what we could down stairs.

Those duatangs and notebooks that they need like how many of, I just get my kids, too rip off the front pages and use one of those because they never use a full one anyways.

This is how I try to cut is much pennies out of the list I could for at least the start of the year.

Do you have left over school supplies send that with the kids before you go and buy stuff?

Now I have stuff up here in the arts and craft section that is not the same as what I am passing off as my back-to-school section. Back-to-school time is also great time to stock up on arts and crafts supplies, maybe stuff for Christmas you can always throw a pack of crayons it was stocking or wrap it up with a colouring book and boom you have a great present for a little kid.

When it came to school clothes this year I had the kids come in and pick out their clothes but, they also were required to take the time to try them on!

My son is definitely needed more than my daughter for school clothes. It is hard because we don’t have much kid clothes stores around me anymore. I was ordering a lot of their clothes long time for that matter. However, they were in that size that I would buy them something and they would fit fine for by Christmas if it’s too small. But, with the prices of everything I was not about to do that this round. I also find that there is more options for girls than boys.

We got all the clothes almost part found fitted, washed and ready to go for school. My son was mad at me because I wouldn’t let him wear his new clothes before school lol. At least he likes them right!

School is back in here in about a week. I am really torn about when to start having the kids get up and get in the habit of their morning routines.

The next thing that I think I’m going to start getting prepped for is a school routine.

When do you start getting your kids back into the school routine swing?

My kids are on a bus, and so we really only have so much wiggle room before they actually have to just be ready to go versus when we lived in town it didn’t really matter it took him five minutes to get to school and that was all there was.

So, now they have to be able to get up make their beds, get ready and have some breakfast too fill up their tummy for the bus ride to school.

With the school supplies bought, sorted and labeled this is definitely a the starting point that I wanted to be at war was hoping to be at for the start of the week. I told my kids they would be getting up early in earlier everyday to start getting ready for school. They don’t have to do it right away or everyday but they will be getting up and everyday a little earlier and everyday that we do something else and preparation of what they would be for when they do for school.

This is the start to my back-to-school prep!

If you want to join in the back to school routine that I will be starting if you want to see and read a little bit about that let me know I would love to do that blog.

It would be a nice way to start setting up all of the routines that’ll need to be fixed up for winter.
