Hi and good morning! Happy Monday! I can’t believe how fast the week went by! Maybe it’s the time of year, maybe it’s the busy spring vibes! Whatever it is I’m hoping it slows down during the summer months!
With being a full time mom of 4 kids, a wife and home maker, days can tend to blur together, some days seem to last FOREVER!
I am trying to enjoy what life is throwing my way and enjoy the stage that’s I am in!
The stage where there is toys everywhere, followed with crumbs, clothes and something sticky!
I have been finding myself with blocking more and more time out for walks around the yard, kicking the ball and of coarse yard clean up! Always something to clean lol!
Something that I have recently started doing is blocking out more but shorter “tidy times”! As I’ve been learning more on how long certain chores take it makes it easier to set certain chores to certain times!
Let me explain what I mean! If I have a 20 minute window to do something before something else is set up then I will try to do either 4…5 minute tasks or I will do a bigger 20-30 minute task!
This has made it a little easier for me to break up whatever is zone that I am working in for that week into smaller bits throughout the week instead of trying to do more than what I need to do in the zone!
I can sometimes I actually get more done in a week in a certain area if I break it into smaller bits throughout the whole week! Instead of working for say an hour each day in the zone, where are some tasks that I’m trying to do that day won’t take an hour and I could actually be spending the rest of that time doing something else instead of being in that zone!
I have a couple blogs about zone cleaning I will leave linked down below! I love Zone cleaning I have done it for years now and it’s just a really nice way to break up your house and break up your chores to stay on top of everything just a little easier!
When I happen to have a chore or a zone that I cannot do with the littles or as easy, I will then try to do my other quicker tasks and easier tasks while they are up, then I take nap time for a bigger chores!
This is another reason why learning time frames for tasks was a little important for me!
With doing it this way, it really made me see how quick I could get some of the stuff actually done! To try to learn to break it up into bits and pieces this is when I can go from doing a quick 10-15 minute clean too quick 30 minute house clean!
When I mean with this is that say I am vacuuming the upstairs stairs, and everything is going okay kids are still playing good. I can then maybe vacuum Mason’s room that’s another five minutes if it’s picked up already oh, maybe I’ll try to vacuum my room that is one of the quickest rooms to vacuum it doesn’t have carpet but I like getting into whatever corners I can. Maybe everything keeps going good and then I can just keep on going well all of a sudden just like that all of the vacuuming is done in less time then telling myself to tackle “the whole house”.
This is were my routines also come in nice! I find this helps me not worrying about doubling the chore either!
Take the evening routine! I find this one probably the most important one too keep!
I find myself not as ancy about chores that I know will be part of the routine! If I need to clean the kitchen, I will take more time tackling other deeper cleaning tasks instead of do basic chores that I know will happen anyways later! Just a different way to help with times and chores!
There is so many things happening with summer coming but, with getting little bit done here and there is a good way for this house to learn to break up the day, and chores to make room for outside life!
I have routine blogs that I will link! I change my routines lots in the year! Depending on the time of year depends on the routine! For the most part they keep the same idea some chores change but the timeline is what can really change of course!
I am learning it doesn’t matter what time of the day the floors get done, or when the sinks get shined! These tasks will be there until I find that 5 minutes to get them in, or wait till the routine time!
“Little by little, task by task, it will a get done”
I hope this helps in finding time for those tasks!
Waiting for supper? Fold some laundry, clean out that junk drawer while your there! A little goes along way!
I will link my Instagram and Facebook! There is always fun there, with daily day to day mom life!
Until next week
Have a great day, a wonderful weekend and a productive week!
Bye for now!
