Hello and good morning!

Happy Monday, have we located our motivation? I find the mornings that I have no motivation are the days that dragged on so bad.

One of the things that I absolutely love about my routines is not whether I have motivation or not I know I can still get stuff done. And I know what I am trying to get done! I find that my morning routine will help me find my motivation to do other tasks around the house for like the rest of the day.

When it comes to a routine a lot of the time we think that this is the routine and we need to do it. That’s not the case! A routine can look so different depending on who the person is and what their situation is!

This is a reason why I always tell people it is your routine this is to help you and your family nobody else. It doesn’t matter what your girlfriend’s routine is, what your mother-in-law’s routine is or even what your neighbours routine is. Why does it not matter? Because it is their routine and not yours.

I will always tell someone when starting out a routine you think about what you want to achieve in that routine. The routine that you pick is for the time. Is the most chaotic in your house that time that you need the most help and the most prep. This is why it doesn’t matter who is routine it is it is up to them to cropped it.

When you start a routine I always start with roughly three to five things that I am already currently doing or a couple that I am trying to implement. Just because it is on your routine doesn’t mean that it is set in stone! Lots of routines get started on a piece of paper and a pen. And you don’t like getting a new piece of paper well then use a pencil and just erase it it is really that simple to just revamp your routine.

When starting out find what is working the best for you and what is not working the best for you. Then switch up your routines play around with it oh, maybe your not down what you were doing at certain times and you cropped your routine off of that. Maybe you have no routine and you’re trying to get one and you are starting with a morning routine but, you find that your evening would have been a better time to start a routine.

Whatever time of the day you want to start your routine start it. If you’re getting up at 8 p.m. to get ready for work you’re not going to have the same schedule or routine that somebody who is getting up 7 a.m. to get their kids ready for school.

I tend to sit down with my routines about every 4 to 6 months. This is because where I live here in Saskatchewan are weather changes like stupid we don’t actually have 4 seasons I don’t personally think I said we tend to have 2 seasons LOL but that’s just my Saskatchewan joke.

So when the seasons are changing and the days are getting longer and maybe the kids are getting ready for summer holidays maybe even for Christmas holidays things are going to need to change. However, a lot of your main chores you won’t notice will stay the same.

The longer that you do a routine and you stick to it pretty much start forming your habits versus having a routine you will find what times of the day or in between what chores you would maybe have a little extra time. Let me explain a little more! So in the winter here I will usually start a lot of my daily focus chores around 10 a.m. whereas in the summer at that time 10 a.m. we are usually getting ready to head outside for the rest of the morning.

When I say to not be scared of changing your routine switch it up change your chores renamed them that’s a big one! I don’t understand it either but sometimes just adding a cute name or a different definition to something can just change your thinking of it. Take tidying the bathroom! The fly lady system says to do a swish and wipe every day in one bathroom! Well that also means to do a quick wipe down of the bathroom! Sometimes just adding that title of “definition” can make it seem not as bad! Not as much of a chore!

Another thing you will notice is that some of the chores you will not want to give up those times that you do it because you are so used to it that it does not make sense to change it in your mind.

For an example on my morning routine every morning I make my bed, get dressed and empty the dishwasher. Now, when summer time comes maybe we’re all staying up later that dishwasher might also and get emptied at night before we are heading to bed versus getting done before the kids go to school.

This is just a very basic example of what I mean about changing up your routine.

Over the last how many years that I have been using a routine and balancing my routine I’m not even sure how many times I have sat down and looked over the routines by myself or with the kids and just that talked together about their chores and what they would like to do when if something is not working.

This is a way that I have learnt that packing lunches the night before doesn’t always work in this house versus having the big kids pack their lunches in the morning. For this I have learned on Sundays to add a little extra time on to my prep so I can sit down get a bunch of stuff chopped and ready for the week and so in the morning when they go to pack their lunch they just have to follow these containers of pre cut up stuff and add them to their big for container for in their lunch.

I have done LOTS of routine blogs! I will link some go check somemoutnor allmofnthem and you will see what I mean about always looking over my routines and revamping them!

Hi good morning and welcome back to Classy Classic’s By Kandis!

How was your week last week?

Did you have a good first week of the new year?

Did you read last week’s blog?

All about the new year coming in! I will leave it linked below in case you didn’t get a chance to see it!

This week is pretty big for me in the house, I’m not even sure really where to start this week and so we’re just going to get through the week okay!

I thought this week we could talk about routines, cleaning, getting back to reality! Needing to get back in the habit of my routines, all of my routines that is. I have three main routines that we use morning afternoon and evening!

With it being the beginning of a new year that is a time that I liked to look over my routine since there’s nothing that’s jiving really well, but also I need to go to my routines because my kids went back to school!

There will be more stuff like this on my other social media page’s! Make sure you come on over to Facebook or Instagram after I’ll have two links down below at the bottom please just have a little more day today personal aspects of my life!

So, with the kids going back they haven’t been in school since last March, we went with remote learning for the first half so we could see how it was like! I had asked my kids what they wanted to do for the last half of the school year, and they said they wanted to give it a try and see what it was like! So just like that they are getting ready to get on to the bus!

This is why I said I guess I’ll sit down and go through my routines, and get everything as smooth running as what we can too to get through the rest of the school year and to have a great start to the 2021 year.

This is something that I will just sit down one day this week and pull out all the routines and I have on hand, old ones and some newer ones plus the one from remote learning that I had set up!

This way I can sit down and I can see what was working before to see what was working now and try to get the best of both routines set for the best productive outcome that we can!

Do you do routines?

Do you have one big routine, smaller routines, do you have an hourly outlay?

How do you do your routines or your schedules for the day?

I have lots of other blog post on my older routines that I will go ahead and list here!

Routines have always being a strong impact in my house, and I look forward to getting back into a strong secure routine!

I also have zone cleaning that I used to keep up with some different tasks, I also have it daily tasks that I do along with my routines just to keep everything as controlled as I can!

So why go back through them, why deal with resetting them, re-cropping them?

It really is just because I always redoing my routine always looking at them!

They are always changes, needing to have a couple quick switches! Depending on the time of season literally as I live in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Also depending on the stage of the kids at the time, and all of that it really kind of changes. Not day by day, but definitely season-by-season and age by age!

I find if I can get back to my routines, especially now that the kids are back in school, that it can definitely help me have a more productive day, have more time for myself, but, also have more play time for the littles that are still at home.

I still have two kids that are at home. One that is four and one that is two. So I am still very busy. My schedules are only so flexible as I have toddlers that try to run my life. And so I find if they can have a nice routine. It kind of balances out their time too, and they know that Mommy will get play time, but mommy also needs her time, but mommy also needs some cleaning time.

How do you restart your routines when it comes to trying to get the chaos back under control?

Over the last week I thought I would start with one routine at at a time as that’s going to be the easiest way I think without getting overwhelmed!

So if you are into routines and trying just stay on track, while still trying to be a mom do the laundry get the supper on the table but, hopefully you will join me in the next couple weeks.

Getting routines back together kids back under somewhat control, and we’re going to get going on 2021.

Make sure you hit the like button down below so I know to keep going with my blogs. I’m not real sure what 2021 has in store. I just know that I am really enjoying blogging and having all of you with me through this year.

Hello and good morning!

Welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis!

How did your morning go?

This week has been just crazy in my house! The kids are all home, and we are trucking along on the remote learning! My house is still standing, I have not pulled out all my hair, plus my dishes are done!

Well at least for now they are haha.

Its funny how the afternoon was used for before whether it is when the older kids were smaller, or when they at school. I don’t know what the year will entail, all I know is that I still need a solid afternoon routine!

I have always been a routine girl, well since I became a full time at home mom, and my routines deffinlty got stronger as we had more kids. There is something about the afternoon that makes the day just go bye fast! I find that the afternoon is a very mixed time, between either getting the other chores done when the littles are napping, or maybe trying to put my feet up.

The afternoon is a time where if I blink my day is done and now im struggling. It is strange to know and see the effects of routines when I had slowed down on them.

I have been redoing my routines, these past weeks! I started with my morning routine, then afternoon, evening then the block system!

Did you catch the morning routine blog?

I will leave a link here if you did not catch it!

I find a morning routine is where I needed to start in trying to get my chaos under control! There was a big gap of summer break and the uncertanty of what was happening that made a lot of stress here!

Let me tell you a little bit about my house and why I am on board fully with routines, and why I love them and rely on them!

I am a stay at home mom of 4 kids! 11,9,3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old! We have decided to keep the older kids home, to do schooling here.

There is just always someone needing something, telling on someone, crumbs EVERYWHERE, and just so much happening. I decided to go full force on routines a couple years ago, it was before we were expecting the 3rd, and now…. I love my routines and I tend to get a little ancy, little stressed and a little stretched when I don’t have my routines happening!

I try not to have as much on my list for the afternoon!

Well not as many but maybe bigger tasks. My afternoon runs me roughly from 12 to 5 lets say. There isn’t really to much of a time on this because naps are in the afternoon. I LOVE NAP TIME! Thought I should point that out lol.

My routine will be more of:

-clean up

-wipe the kitchen

-kids down for nap

-zone cleaning or to finish a task (there is some stuff that is easier at nap)

-finish schooling

-kids have a afternoon (after school) routine

-prep supper

Then that will kinda be wrapping up the afternoon!

Like I said my afternoon does not include any new tasks. If I am looking to clean the van, or work downstairs ect. Thses are the tasks that can be easier at nap.

Just like in the morning routine, your routine might not look like anything of mine. You may not even have a afternoon routine. Maybe its just a afterschool routine, the routines are there if it is what YOUR house needs.

Do you have a afternoon routine?

What is your afternoon set for?

There is so many versions of a routine the sky is the limit! With a strong morning routine, I find that my afternoon is not as fast paste! With how the house is going with the schooling here I am finding it more important then ever to try to schedual my days to the fullest.

When I start sketching out my afternoon routine it can fall into place easier then the other routines I find as it is almost just the filler time.

I had made my morning routine, then when I did the afternoon, just as the others for about a week I do what I am doing and make a list of what was done in the afternoon. Then I would get a feel for what could or should be done.

With knowing what fits best into my afternoon routine then I could crop one out on paper! I find that a week is a good time frame for it, as a lot of stuff can come up in a week.

So if there is going to be a task that would work better another time, you will see it.

Make your schedual work with you, but be flexable enough to work with the schedual! Make sure you have your time frame out so you know what you are working with.

Don’t worry if your routine is not like other.

Maybe your afternoon routine is to tidy up, nap, shower and get ready to go! Just make sure when you are making the routine you know the time frame to be working in, this is so you don’t over book yourself but, you still are getting what you need done!

More on that statement coming with the block system!

Go ahead and make sure you are following the blog! Follow with your email and get notifications on new blogs! I aim to upload a new one Mondays!

No matter on the type of routine that you are creating, it is set for what you will need to keep what you need done! does, whether its one of five of them.

Make sure you give the blog a thumbs up if you liked it! There is more coming out soon! Don’t forget to follow the blog, and go ahead and sign up with an email!

This will give you notices on when I upload new ones!

I aim for a new blog every week!
