A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!

Hi and good morning! Happy Monday! I can’t believe how fast the week went by! Maybe it’s the time of year, maybe it’s the busy spring vibes! Whatever it is I’m hoping it slows down during the summer months!

With being a full time mom of 4 kids, a wife and home maker, days can tend to blur together, some days seem to last FOREVER!

I am trying to enjoy what life is throwing my way and enjoy the stage that’s I am in!

The stage where there is toys everywhere, followed with crumbs, clothes and something sticky!

I have been finding myself with blocking more and more time out for walks around the yard, kicking the ball and of coarse yard clean up! Always something to clean lol!

Something that I have recently started doing is blocking out more but shorter “tidy times”! As I’ve been learning more on how long certain chores take it makes it easier to set certain chores to certain times!

Let me explain what I mean! If I have a 20 minute window to do something before something else is set up then I will try to do either 4…5 minute tasks or I will do a bigger 20-30 minute task!

This has made it a little easier for me to break up whatever is zone that I am working in for that week into smaller bits throughout the week instead of trying to do more than what I need to do in the zone!

I can sometimes I actually get more done in a week in a certain area if I break it into smaller bits throughout the whole week! Instead of working for say an hour each day in the zone, where are some tasks that I’m trying to do that day won’t take an hour and I could actually be spending the rest of that time doing something else instead of being in that zone!

I have a couple blogs about zone cleaning I will leave linked down below! I love Zone cleaning I have done it for years now and it’s just a really nice way to break up your house and break up your chores to stay on top of everything just a little easier!

When I happen to have a chore or a zone that I cannot do with the littles or as easy, I will then try to do my other quicker tasks and easier tasks while they are up, then I take nap time for a bigger chores!

This is another reason why learning time frames for tasks was a little important for me!

With doing it this way, it really made me see how quick I could get some of the stuff actually done! To try to learn to break it up into bits and pieces this is when I can go from doing a quick 10-15 minute clean too quick 30 minute house clean!

When I mean with this is that say I am vacuuming the upstairs stairs, and everything is going okay kids are still playing good. I can then maybe vacuum Mason’s room that’s another five minutes if it’s picked up already oh, maybe I’ll try to vacuum my room that is one of the quickest rooms to vacuum it doesn’t have carpet but I like getting into whatever corners I can. Maybe everything keeps going good and then I can just keep on going well all of a sudden just like that all of the vacuuming is done in less time then telling myself to tackle “the whole house”.

This is were my routines also come in nice! I find this helps me not worrying about doubling the chore either!

Take the evening routine! I find this one probably the most important one too keep!

I find myself not as ancy about chores that I know will be part of the routine! If I need to clean the kitchen, I will take more time tackling other deeper cleaning tasks instead of do basic chores that I know will happen anyways later! Just a different way to help with times and chores!

There is so many things happening with summer coming but, with getting little bit done here and there is a good way for this house to learn to break up the day, and chores to make room for outside life!

I have routine blogs that I will link! I change my routines lots in the year! Depending on the time of year depends on the routine! For the most part they keep the same idea some chores change but the timeline is what can really change of course!

I am learning it doesn’t matter what time of the day the floors get done, or when the sinks get shined! These tasks will be there until I find that 5 minutes to get them in, or wait till the routine time!

“Little by little, task by task, it will a get done”

I hope this helps in finding time for those tasks!

Waiting for supper? Fold some laundry, clean out that junk drawer while your there! A little goes along way!

I will link my Instagram and Facebook! There is always fun there, with daily day to day mom life!

Until next week

Have a great day, a wonderful weekend and a productive week!

Bye for now!

FINDING MOTIVATION!

Hi good morning!

Happy Monday! How was your week last week?

It has been busy in the household, getting spring cleaning done I’m trying to get my seeds as big and strong as I can for the garden, it can be really hard not to burn out before I even get out of bed!

Do you ever have the problems with just not having motivation?

I find if I don’t do certain things in the day I definitely lose motivation quicker than other days!

I thought I would share some ways that I try to find some extra motivation on days that I don’t want motivation!

There are definitely a couple tips and tricks that I have found through the years that has helped me friend that motivation and get up off your butt and get something done.

One of the first things that I find is a nice motivation enhancer is getting up, making my bed, getting dressed and washed up!

This just helps me wake up and be able to enjoy my coffee a little more!

When I have lack of motivation and fine just doing some of my basic housework tends to wake me up a little more to try to get some bigger tasks done.

No matter what our daily tasks that need to be done, these are all put into routines of mine and are almost not even chores anymore.

Looking for extra motivation I will clear the counters, clean up the sink, sweep the floor don’t forget to wipe that table.

These are all little things that I find make a big difference and how the house looks, and so then when I am lacking energy to do a bigger task to see the end result of just these little daily tasks and how much it makes a difference definitely it will give me extra motivation to do a bigger task that I don’t want to do! Knowing that it’s going to just be done then and it’s going to be so satisfying when it is done!

I needed to realize that I didn’t need to be on my hands and knees or polishing everything all the time, and this is where I have found some of my quick clean tools to be a lifesaver!

With this I love my environment cloths from norex all it takes is water and it disinfects the surface! With a little swish swoop and is all clean!

I will run my Robo around the house to pick up some crumbs while I am sweeping some corner, and then I still have a task being done without feeling bad about spending extra time on a bigger task!

I love breaking my tasks up into smaller chores, this will make it seem that is not as big of a task and it’s okay if it’s not going to get done in one day! I break my cleaning up into zones and so my fuller focus is on that zone of the week!

This way I can do the ceilings in the living room one week and maybe do the dusting in windows, and then the next time that my living room zone comes into play I know I don’t have to be washing walls and deep cleaning corners because maybe that was already done the last round in the zone!

I have to tell myself that not every room needs to be completely top-to-bottom scrubbed all the time oh, that’s silly like who would think that!

Another thing to try to find motivation is to not look for it all the time, there is nothing wrong with sitting down having a cup of coffee putting your feet up oh, maybe just watching the show! I know for me that when I sit down I seem to think I sat a lot longer than what I did and then I find a little extra motivation to get up and going on that task!

Don’t over do it in one day, you don’t need to do a hundred tasks plus your daily tasks, there are some days where all I will do is my basics and then maybe the next day I will do twice as much deep cleaning as what I was going to!

The kicker with the dust and dirt is unfortunately it’ll be there when you get to it. I have been waiting for little fairies to come and clean my house at night for years I have looked in every corner of my house looking for the easy Button, I can’t find it!

My point to the blog is it’s not always easy to find motivation, but there are things that you can do to help find that motivation!

So, if you’re feeling a little slugging get up off that couch and go make your bed, throw a load of laundry in and get those dishes put away!

Right there you will feel so much better, you will look around and find your motivation to get that nagging tasks done that you didn’t want too.

However, remember most big gross tasks once you get it done it’s done!

I hope this is help you find a little motivation the other days, let’s get our houses ready for summer and get ready to bust out start cleaning our yards LOL!

Make sure you follow my social media Pages for more day- day fun and some tips and tricks!

I will have them linked down below. Until next week I hope you have a wonderful day, a fun weekend in the productive week.

LETS ORGANIZE TIME!

Hi, good morning, welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis!

How was your week ? I hope you had a wonderful week did you start any seeds yet? That was last week’s blog oh, it was fun all of my seeds that I started came up oh, so that’s my good, I am actually getting ready to transplant those ones and start some more!

Did you read last week’s blog about starting seeds I’ll leave that link down below!

STARTING SEEDS!

With spring coming and in the air there’s also a whole another thing to start taking care of along with everything that is already needs to be taken care of in the house!

So I thought this week I would try to organize my time, spring is coming and the time spent in the house is going to start coming less and less available! I realize that spring time frames are not the same as that what they were, and they never will stay the same season-to-season especially with having a little kids like what I do!

But, spring is a month away the seeds are sprouted and I am getting all of my cleaning done so I can get outside and start playing in the garden!

So, when it comes to you trying I want to know do you think you have too much time or not enough time? I asked this question is everybody’s going to laugh and probably obviously say I don’t have enough time!

But is that really what it is?

So, if you’re saying I don’t have enough time I’m going to schedule out different blocks! And if I say that I have too much time then I’m going to schedule of different blocks!

No matter what you’re going to look at your day as a block system! One of the best ways that I found and there are so many ways to manage your time but, the best way that I have found is from Jordan page! I have done other blogs on time management and block systems I will leave them link below!

BLOCK SYSTEM

I find that it really helps just sitting down and looking at your day and seeing where your time is! So I am going to show you what I mean!

I use a planner and used to use all sorts of stuff and I might go back into using a block system again but for right now my planner is doing great! We’re having two little kids at home into big kids at school my day is going to look different than anybody, please remember everybody schedule is going to look different than everybody else’s! I did not say this enough when I talk about managing your time!

In my planner I will typically pick a couple tasks to do a day, if only happens that I get it was done through the entire week that’s what happens, but no matter what your day will be a full day! Doesn’t matter if you were in school, at work, or if you work at home, your day is still a full day!

I find it the easiest to break my day into boxes to find out where everything sits!

My block system when I created, I always have to kind of go back through and re vamp it as kids get older routines change, school comes into play all of this everything changes!

My system is from 6 a.m.-9 a.m. Then 9 a.m -12 p.m there is my first 2 morning boxes! Then I break the next hours up into blocks! 12 p.m- 3 p.m See the idea, with my schedule and the kids schedule it was easiest from me to do a box system breaking it every 3 hours! This may not be your system you could maybe do just morning afternoon and evening, maybe you go hour by hour! The biggest thing is to sit down and break your day up into blocks, this way you can see where you are at the busiest and where you are the freeist!

You can then with your block system then start filling in your times! This is routine and non wiggle room! Kids up, school, morning routine, kids home, bed time ECT.

There you have it!

This is one the best, fastest and most productive way to sketch out your time! This system allows you to keep anytime aside but, also to be able to put any time frames into there are not able,to be moved around or compromised!

I have a couple examples of my own block system, routine and planner below that inuse as a way to help trck my time! I hope they help, I hope you enjoyed the blog!

What I Am Doing!

March 20 2020, this was a day that will be hard to forget!

This was the day I got got informed to prepped my kids to come home from school! Caronavirus is getting strong, it’s getting close! With worldwide shut downs, school boards saying take a education week off, and the government telling us to stay home!

I along with millions of others didn’t and still don’t know what is in store for the weeks, even months coming!

How as a mom of 4 and a wife supposed to just handle it all? I am a stay at home mom, so there is most definitely different factors for me as many others!

How did I prep for the craziness!

THE FIRST WEEK!

Tuesday we went to our local grocery store, which is now getting slimmer for the pickens, all already! I headed to the school, to get the kids binders from their classrooms. I actually grabbed all work books, as our school elementary keeps their workbooks together in the rooms. So heading in I talked to  teachers who are waiting and wondering just as much as the parents. “This week we disinfect, Monday we start classes at home” I stated. As we head home with with both kids with us, and had a discussion Monday night on some issues to expect, we get ready to bunker in!

Everyone in our house a house of 6 is good. Then the little ones get colds!

Wednesday through Saturday we set out and cleaned!

Extra cleaning time in the kitchen! Keeping it wiped down as much as I can!

When I say that I cleaned I mean I took on extra… like i always seem to do, I disinfected the house along with my spring cleaning and organizing. This seemed to be the hardest almost 4 days ever, but all I could tell myself is ” it’s ok it’s another task that will be done.”

Deep cleaning the pantry while doing an inventory!

WEEK 2 IN THE MAKING

As Monday came rolling in, home classes started! We are still working on how it will work the smoothest in our house, however for at least the first week of learning we have some stuff in place.. for now lol.

Here is what we do!

In the morning we start with making our bed, getting dressed, teeth, hair… haha normal stuff.

We are working thought some learning books that I got years ago, and love them! They are “EXPLORE AND LEARNING”, there is a set of 6, these can be taught together or individually and covers lots of topics. The first one we are using is Earth and Space! I thought it would be a fun way to start home classes! We are hoping to start a volcano as one of the pages studies all about volcano’s with a craft to do one!

Great Learning Books!

We then do some math! I have limited worksheets, so we are working with what was in their books, I made some multiplying flash cards, other then those the kids are using a program through their school called mathletics! This is a great site as it uses what they are learning in class for their grade!

Worksheets from their books with flashcards I made!

Then we have a snack, or lunch depending on when we start and finish!

The kids will usually take the toddler out for a bit after lunch or they hang out quietly as I get the baby down for a nap, or some cleaning done or both!

How are you fitting in the school work, house work, and everything between?

After play time, and some outside chores, we come in!

In the afternoon we keep it easy, we are doing a novel study together here. I am excited for this one…. we are reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This is helping with listening skills, as I found some chapter questions online for elementary. They enjoy listening to the story!

Great survival book!

We are trying to keep up with reading, this is neither one of my kid’s favorite thing to do. My daughter is more into it, as long as she can read her own book, in her head! Which is fine but boy is she a fast trader some days lol!🤣🤦‍♀️ My son has a program he used at school a bit which he enjoys, plus makes it easier on me until I find something else to mix in. He is using readingeggs.com, this was set up in the school, along with another site he has but we where not stated or looked into yet! I do hope next week we can try!

One more thing that the kids are working on is their writing! Not everyday however, a couple times a week we will pick a topic for them to write about! Example… they wrote about plans for summer, school at home, the caronavirus and what we know and want to know!

I’m am trying to not make it hard, or over boring haha!

This is the learning curve we are working on this week!

I am finding ways to balance the kids, learning, cleaning, laundry, meals! My planner is being changed up a bit, to help sort everything out lol. With everything happening I am grateful to have my family all under one roof!

Loving My Planner!

Waiting to hear something week to week, this was a interesting couple weeks!

A reason of why my blog is so incredibly late! I had to be here 100% for my family as we got sittled in!

How has your time went?

Are you home, working?

How are you balancing everything?

I hope you enjoyed the look into my house this last couple weeks, with everyone here, learning and playing! Make sure you like the blog so I can do more like this one!
