What An Afternoon!

Hi and good morning welcome back, it’s a great day here on Classy Classic’s By Kandis.
This week’s blog is for afternoon routine. This can be split up between many hours or a couple, it depends on how your afternoons works for you!
When it comes to the afternoon in my house I split it up, my first block is from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm then from 4pm-8pm.
So let’s look at the first from 1:00-4:00 shall we!
My afternoon routine is set up this way because at 1pm is the latest that Masyn my toddler is up, by 1 it’s nap time. If my stars line up then both little ones will nap at this time. So if both kids are napping at the same time I have a couple options here, depending on what season It is and what is on the to do list I will then try to do either my workout or specific cleaning that can only really be done with no children. Example for the month of May is a complete camper clean out.
So my workouts then tend to not happen as I try to work there instead, and if or when I can. Depending also how long the little ones sleep, will depend on what happens.
As you can see my afternoon has little room, I will try to prep or start what I might need to for supper, or get stuff lined up, packed and situated for any after school activities there might be!
Kids get home and they have their routine, not much unpack school bag, snack, homework and get ready to go if there is activities. I try to get them to pack their lunches for the next day also if there is time.
I find these afternoon routines more easy to keep and maintain to help the day out more in the winter months, as we are confined to inside.
So let’s recap and smooth this out, Yes? Little one or if lucky both go for naps. Work out or cleaning project as there is very little chances to do both in this season of life. Supper prep, activities prepped and packed for, kids home from school, and their stuff done.
This will run to the 4:00 If not past depending on what is happening that day. I should point out I am constantly swapping laundry, as I only try to use the clothes line in the summer my last load needs to be out on the line by between 3 and 4pm.
So any time in between I will fold laundry if it’s ready. Those little tasks that are always there are my spare minute fillers. It takes only a short time to fold laundry, pick up a little, wipe the table etc.
With these short hours what I have left to try to accomplish is a fast past if I’m trying to be productive haha.
There you have it what I try to have my early afternoon look like, I need to work on remembering if this does not line up it is ok.
Summer is short and I need to enjoy what I can when I can, because soon we will be inside again and can do what I need to in the house.
This is hard for me as I tend to feel disappointed if everything does not get done. Which yes I realize is possible, I can’t do everything in the house and outside all in one day.
How does your afternoon go? Chill and relax, certain goals, or balls to the wall?
Let me know how you do early afternoon! I would love to hear some ideas to smooth out the afternoon as summer is coming, and we will be outside instead.
Lets help each other to be able to enjoy summer to the fullest this year.
Till next blog have a great afternoon, know matter what your afternoon may entail!
Afternoon routine

Cleaning time… always

If I’m lucky to be in the right season for workouts lol hopefully more in the winter

House Is Ready!💪👌👏

Hello and hoppy soon Easter! Welcome to this in the week life blog. I am excited to share my week, it was productive this round. Hopefully it will give you some motivation for some spring break cleaning! Make sure to follow for updates on more motivating cleaning coming as spring is here!

After a great Sunday Prep Day, everything was set up for a great week, and it really was.

Monday was filled with house work. Getting laundry done… yet again! House wiped down and floors cleaned, I was ready to move on.
Monday is when I started tacking the van! With four kids it’s always full of crumbs and grossness. I set out to at least get it vacuumed, and I did, it didn’t get wiped out, but a good vacuum. That task that takes forever is a little easier with our van I can fold down all the seats, making it easier to vacuum.
However it makes it longer as there is so much room under the seats when they are put up. So easier yes but more corners.
But, it got done 👌💪I got it out of the way as for the house it will get completely cleaned at the end of the week when two kid’s are leaving!

Tuesday consisted of sorting baby toys and more kid clothes that are being gathered from all corners, washed and sorted as the boys as they keep growing.
Poor kids with having an older brother then two boys, they will never need new clothes! 😂🤣 with going back on track I have more motivation to get the little bit finished in the shed and garage.
Then to finish strong in organizing the basement. This is a task for the break when I have a couple less kids here lol.
Getting Easter stuff ready look for my Easter blog to see what the kid’s got this year! The two oldest ones are going for the week 😁 so getting them packed was done.

Wednesday… hump day! I find my motivation to be more slow if I don’t push myself a little extra. However if I can push through it tends to be a good day. With kids having activities and the hubby at a physio appointment, supper would be late as it always was Wednesday’s, it can help some nights tho.
Deciding on pulling stuff from the freezer I made a Shepards pie, as I had a bag of frozen mashed potatoes that needed to be used up!
There is usually left overs so supper Thursday was covered then.
As far as tasks went Wednesday it was more finishing up my tasks as the ending to them was to close to stop.

Thursday we ended up heading to an appointment for masyn’s fluoride treatment just in the town over from us.
Got bills paid 😣 always a love hate task there.
Then just cleaned the house up and finished packing the kids bags.

Friday rolling in, it was a great morning! The baby who is now 3 months old slept almost 11 hours straight 😇 the 2 older kid’s got up and didn’t start to instantly fight, and masyn the toddler slept in and woke up sooooo freaking content. Yap picture perfect morning I tell ya!
So I made a double batch of pancake batter I had a plan. This plan did not work out for me!
I was going to use cookie cutters to make Easter pancakes however it just sticks in the cutters so plan B it was.
I just wrote out hoppy Easter in pancakes and called it good enough!🙄 Tooth brushes packed and vitamins, hair brush the last of it.
Grandparents come, we had a awesome visit, masyn loved playing outside with grandpa, and Dawson the baby got to hang out and nap in a rocker I pulled from the shed.
With there only being 2 little ones here it’s quiet and different.
I hope everyone had a great week.
Did you get lots done?
Ready for Easter?
Watch for some fun little kid Easter posts, there will be more on Instagram under @kandisblask and on Facebook Kandis Blask. Hope everyone has a great Easter. Till next blog have a good day!😁

Now That’s A Good Day! 🤗

Do you have a prep day? A day to just reset, gather and prepare for your next week! Get some tasks out of the way, so its ready for the week.
Do you catch up on laundry, do the house cleaning, get you clothes out for the week, maybe make lunches for work, or kids school?
The list goes on for what one might prep for the upcoming week.
What do you aim for? What day is you reset or prep day?

Hi I’m Kandis and welcome to Its A Mom.
If your new go ahead and hit that follow button to join the fun and conversations here, for ways to make it through that shift or season of life that you are in.
If your a follower welcome back.

I always find dredded Mondays to be a little easier when I got my prep done. My day to reset and prepare is Sundays, we have no activities usually and this can make so much more time in the week.
Between activities and school, lunches to pack, reading and little ones, who has time in this season of life to get it done eveynight.
When is your prep day? Weekend or a say off?

When we prep for the week it’s usually the same routine. Get all the laundry gathered and taken down, and sorted. If there is any extra laundry that has to be done for Monday it goes in.
Sundays I also sit down and work in my planner, not only do I set up and design my planner, I look over that activities are when and what time for the week. This helps as we are now starting new after school activities. I write out my to do list for the week sometimes half the week with how my planner is set up but not always.
Kids get their clothes picked out for the week, and homework is caught up and school papers are signed, looked over and packed.
I take this day to prep all their snacks for their lunches. This way its ready to pack into containers each day. This guarantee’s healthy snacks.
They just need to make their sandwich each night!

Needless to say Sundays are a important day for this house!
What does your prep day or reset day look like, when do you do it?
Let me know in the comments down below.
Until next blog happy prepping, remember a little can go a long way!❤

Love my planner time good for the mind and soul lol

Different Spot Different Use!

Well good morning happy Sunday, and welcome to Its A Mom Life, if your new make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button to never miss out on all the fun here on the blog!
It’s a good day for a blog as it is one of my favorite topics! PLANNING AND ORGANIZING! I just get a thrill out of trying new ways to stay organized, with summer on it’s way…. I hope to get what I can done in the house as I am outside as much as I can be in the short summer months here in Saskatchewan.
As part of the March challenge it was to organize the house room to room or category by category. Since for years things got shifted so much from here to there, I am doing a little of both ways.
Something I wanted to share is how just by relocating something it can be a new thing! What do I mean? Let me tell you!
I lack storage in my house, and as you mammas know storage is a must with a growing family, with all the hand me downs that get saved for the next kid it’s easy to run out of space! My solution for this at this point of life anyways was to add some, with what I have to work with.
There is a closet in my daughter’s room, she also had 2 dressers, one which was not the best as the drawers tended to fall out when it was opened. Not the best for a kid and daily use. So what did I do? I slid the dresser into the closet.
As there is only 2 closets in the house the one in her room is a storage one instead of her things.
Now in the closet I have just in the dresser, the top 2 drawers are for extra sheets for the kid’s beds more for summer as they are the thinner sheets. Then I now have a art and craft drawer that helps with all the stuff kept here and There! Then the bottom drawer I have paper, folders, dividers etc. This makes it so handy to either put the stuff in one spot as I come across more going through the house, but also to know exactly where it is located!
This is what I mean when I say moving something can make it have a whole new purpose!
Give it a try, have something that’s just not cutting it anymore? Try looking at it in a new way! Move it, flip it, add organizers into it! There is always more then one way to use something, sometimes you just need to think outside of the box!
Try seeing what you can reuse to make something work better for you, let me know how it worked out in the comments down below I would love to hear about it!
Till next week have fun organizing, you have more handy things then you think if you want to see them, so have fun and don’t forget to think outside the box.

Hello In There!

Hello and good morning welcome to Its A Mom Life, it’s Sunday fun day! What better day to talk about organizing and what better thing to start organizing before spring then the freezer! 😨
Do you know what is in the back,or the very bottom of that ice box? How often do you get into it? Do you make it to the bottom, or the back? It can be a scary thing in that dark space!
There is a lot of time I have no clue what, or how much I have in there. It can get frustrating when it comes to the months that I am trying to stretch my groceries. The months like this is when on love my freezer inventory, however you must keep up on it, which can be hard when you are in and out of it daily.
With that it can be nice to have it organized to be able to see everything and/or have it categorized so you can find stuff easier! With that said for this organizing blog I would like to share some easy inexpensive ways to keep it a little more organized! The bins used are all from the dollar tree!
So if your ready grab a sweater and some gloves and let’s dive into the freezer!
I have a stand up freezer and a little apartment size. I will show you how I organize the bigger one… the standing freezer! I will show this one and organizing, as my little one is organized by categories, so it has bags of peeled sliced apples, and peaches from the summer. Some extra baking snacks for the kid’s and just a couple baged veggies from the garden that can’t be flattened as well!
So back to the big one. On each shelf I try to have the same category items to a degree, as other stuff will get where it fits but can be recognized by the outside packaging. You will see what I mean.
The top shelf I have for some meat the bigger meats, and any other meats that are not steaks and ground beef. They have bins they go in. This is pork, chicken, but there is also wild meat but in one spot, as we try to not use it on daily bases and our roasts as they take more space. I also put some larger pans of freezer meals here.
The second shelf I have bagged veggies from the summer in bins. This way bags don’t get pushed to the back and covered in snow build up.
Then we go to the third shelf this has the small bags of fruit in one side in a bin, and larger bags of fruit on the side. This also has some bags of pre made foods here also.
The last wire shelf has a bins, this is one for ground beef and one for steaks, this also is set up where the steak cuts are in the same row in the bin, so grabbing them can be easier and I don’t have to look at each package. As they are in “piles”.
Then the bottom, there can be a lot of room here but, having the stuff stay and not fall on your toes when you open the door is the problem.
With this I have some cabbage rolls in the back, they fit nice and can stacked up. Then in front in have a simple lid organizer from the dollar store. This holds flattened bags perfect they can be in a row but not fall. This I have pumkin and shredded carrots.
There is some containers of premade cookie dough from a fundraiser. I usually have cookie dough logs I pre make, and fit nicely in the door instead! Then the door I typically put the waffles, and pancakes, dessert breads, and i have some large bags of blueberries and Saskatoon! 😁
So that is my stand up freezer, I look forward to organizing it more, with the upcoming blog challange hit that follow button to make sure to catch it, and join in! Till next Sunday, try thinking of how to make your freezer more handy.  Let me know how you organize your freezer? A little can go a long way!

Top shelf is meats!
 The vegetable bins
The third is fruit and vegetables with extra big bags and some premade food!
The last shelf has ground beef in one bin and steak cuts in the other!
Also on the bottom the rows sitting up and down are in a lid holder, with a nice stack of shredded zucchini on the side.
The door holds waffles, and dessert breads with some large bags of berries. This is where the cookie log dough would be but I’m out!
This is just a glance in my small one has it’s just extra large bags of fruit ON the bottom, and some used bags and a little extra large veggies like tomatoes and some extra baking on the top!

Planning The Week

Hello, happy Sunday welcome to Its A Mom Life! Sundays can be a good rest day, they can also be a good prep day!
I have always worked the best with having a list and a good game plan. When I became a mom 10 years ago now, I realized I needed a game plan, with more kids in the mix a day to day plan didn’t quit cut it anymore.
I like to plan, I had got a planner from my sister a couple years ago and I couldn’t go back. With diving into a weekly planner, it was awesome. I have a planner that has a month over look, and a weekly layout!
I look forward to sitting down and planning for my up coming week now on Sundays is when I do my weekly planning.
Do you use a planner, if so what kind do you enjoy?
The one I have now is roughly the same outline, I am still getting use to using it as it’s only been a couple months! I have used loose leaf paper, journals, and the weekly layout. I have not invested in making my own yet. This might come for next year! With this to I love a nice bright outline, this is so I can look and see the color and no what might be categorized on it. I find it handy to have a monthly over look to mark up coming events and can just refer to it when doing my weekly planning, this is helpful when it comes to kids and their activities!
I am trying to find the “perfect” way to set up and plan in the new planner. Either way there is many fun ways to plan your up coming week.
Do you use colors, stickers, categories? I would love to hear how you plan, and get some new ideas!
So, how do I do my steps when it comes to planning? I will start with coloring, this I use yellow, orange, pink, blue and green!
Then I set out and write out my labels which are a nice bold black.
Then comes to fill in the outlines parts, this includes kids stuff, zones for cleaning, and the  of coarse never ending laundry schedule!
Let me know in the comments if you would like a laundry blog and how I stay for the most part caught up on it!
The next step is to fill in my to do list. This is on the side bar now of my new planner which is different for me, but I am enjoying using the “roll over” method when it comes to some tasks!
With these steps I find my week to be more organized and less hectic as I can set out what I need to do vs what I want to be done.
Is planning part of your week to do? When do you try to plan your week? Want some more blogs like this planner one? Let me know any of this is the comments down below I would love to hear!
Till next Sunday planning blog, have fun planning and organizing your days, this can also help in finding that extra time!
Don’t forget to hit that follow button for all the upcoming blogs. Till next blog have a wonderful day! 😁

How it starts!

 Add my colors !
Put in labels and meals in followed by my to do list!

Learning To Meal Plan!!

Hi there and welcome to Its A Mom Life!
For this planning Sunday I thought we could talk meal planning! I would like to share some steps that I take to plan out my meals, and how I do more then one week planning at a time!
When it come to meal planning for multiple week’s this is where I find it helpful to have my freezer inventory done. You can have a pantry inventory done if you want that extra step.
First step is to get your week or week’s written out, I like to use a bright colored sheet, I like to color mine with a highlighter I find a fun paper makes it easier to keep and look at for the extended period of time. I also write my meals into my daily planner as I find this easier to stay on top of making sure my meat or items are pulled out of the freezer the night before or that day.
The next step is to brain storm different ideas, this is why I like to have my freezer inventory sheet. I use a separate peice of paper, write out as much as I can off the top of my head.
Now, it’s just a matter of figuring out what meals you want to eat when and write them in your meal planning! This step can be done all at once or over a couple Day!
That is all there to it, I find this helps in making a grocery list, without going over budget as I know what I need to fill in those meals and snacks.
I hope this helps motivate you to try to meal plan this week, remember start small if you have trouble, try just a couple days, then slowly get bigger with it. Remember any amount that you can do without getting stressed out will make a difference.
So give it a try, let me know are you new at meal planning, got any questions I would love to hear them! I would also love to know what steps you take, if meal planning is something you already do!
Until next Sunday have fun and keep planning! 😁❤

Prep and Prep to be Prepared😥🤘

Hi there, happy Sunday! This is a day of prep for the kiddos and me in the house! We get everything or as much as we can prepped for the week ahead of us! Do you prep for the start of the week, what do you do to help the week go smoothly?

Here in our house it is filled with lots of prep however, this is to help the week go more smoothly! As a mom of 4 and the youngest almost a month old, plans and routines might not go as I would like!
One of the ways that I prep for the coming week is to prep snacks and lunch items  for the kid’s! These items are kept on a cookie sheet in the fridge, then the kiddos just need to repack some into containers and make their sandwiches. This makes lunches quick and easy, even less hectic and stressful!
Let me know if this is a topic that you find interesting, I can share more weekly prep ideas that we do around the house!
Of coarse go ahead and hit that subsribe or follow me button to join the fun.
Till next Sunday Prep Day have a great, prepared week!😁
