Planning The Week

Hello, happy Sunday welcome to Its A Mom Life! Sundays can be a good rest day, they can also be a good prep day!
I have always worked the best with having a list and a good game plan. When I became a mom 10 years ago now, I realized I needed a game plan, with more kids in the mix a day to day plan didn’t quit cut it anymore.
I like to plan, I had got a planner from my sister a couple years ago and I couldn’t go back. With diving into a weekly planner, it was awesome. I have a planner that has a month over look, and a weekly layout!
I look forward to sitting down and planning for my up coming week now on Sundays is when I do my weekly planning.
Do you use a planner, if so what kind do you enjoy?
The one I have now is roughly the same outline, I am still getting use to using it as it’s only been a couple months! I have used loose leaf paper, journals, and the weekly layout. I have not invested in making my own yet. This might come for next year! With this to I love a nice bright outline, this is so I can look and see the color and no what might be categorized on it. I find it handy to have a monthly over look to mark up coming events and can just refer to it when doing my weekly planning, this is helpful when it comes to kids and their activities!
I am trying to find the “perfect” way to set up and plan in the new planner. Either way there is many fun ways to plan your up coming week.
Do you use colors, stickers, categories? I would love to hear how you plan, and get some new ideas!
So, how do I do my steps when it comes to planning? I will start with coloring, this I use yellow, orange, pink, blue and green!
Then I set out and write out my labels which are a nice bold black.
Then comes to fill in the outlines parts, this includes kids stuff, zones for cleaning, and the  of coarse never ending laundry schedule!
Let me know in the comments if you would like a laundry blog and how I stay for the most part caught up on it!
The next step is to fill in my to do list. This is on the side bar now of my new planner which is different for me, but I am enjoying using the “roll over” method when it comes to some tasks!
With these steps I find my week to be more organized and less hectic as I can set out what I need to do vs what I want to be done.
Is planning part of your week to do? When do you try to plan your week? Want some more blogs like this planner one? Let me know any of this is the comments down below I would love to hear!

Time Goes By

Have you ever set out in the morning with full intentions of doing oh so much? Just to realize that you must of blinked and the whole day is gone, as you look at that on going to do list and wonder where your time/day went! Yap I hear you!
I would love to try to help with that! There is always stuff to do, people to take care of, and never enough hours in a day, Right! My mama tip and trick is a couple things to try!
Tip one is going to be make a to list of the top priorities of that day. Put the need to do first, then the other tasks after, this way the tasks that is not completed that night you can “roll over” to the next day. Giving your self a little less must does will make the ever lasting list look better.
The second tip is multitasking or grouping your chores. If you are in the kitchen while you are waiting on that water to boil, microwave time to go off, see what you can do in that time… can you put some dishes away, sweep the floor, wipe that mystery goop off of the counter. Every thing counts and everything can add up!
The last tip I will give is one I’m trying to get more organized with as my time slots changed after my last baby! But, this is Jordan Page’s block system, I will leave a link below to check it out! This is a good system where you break up your day into slots and each slot is designed for certain things in your day! This way you will not use the whole day up on one task, instead use your day hour by hour or morning, noon, and night. You might focus more or harder on a task if you know there is an hour dedicated to a task.
I hope this will help you find a little more balance in your day, help you tackle the never ending chores, and find some hidden time for “you” stuff.
How do you control your time, get your chores done with everything in between?
Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next Wednesday’s mom tips and tricks, have a great one, and work with the time you have not against it!!

Learning To Meal Plan!!

Hi there and welcome to Its A Mom Life!
For this planning Sunday I thought we could talk meal planning! I would like to share some steps that I take to plan out my meals, and how I do more then one week planning at a time!
When it come to meal planning for multiple week’s this is where I find it helpful to have my freezer inventory done. You can have a pantry inventory done if you want that extra step.
First step is to get your week or week’s written out, I like to use a bright colored sheet, I like to color mine with a highlighter I find a fun paper makes it easier to keep and look at for the extended period of time. I also write my meals into my daily planner as I find this easier to stay on top of making sure my meat or items are pulled out of the freezer the night before or that day.
The next step is to brain storm different ideas, this is why I like to have my freezer inventory sheet. I use a separate peice of paper, write out as much as I can off the top of my head.
Now, it’s just a matter of figuring out what meals you want to eat when and write them in your meal planning! This step can be done all at once or over a couple Day!
That is all there to it, I find this helps in making a grocery list, without going over budget as I know what I need to fill in those meals and snacks.
I hope this helps motivate you to try to meal plan this week, remember start small if you have trouble, try just a couple days, then slowly get bigger with it. Remember any amount that you can do without getting stressed out will make a difference.
So give it a try, let me know are you new at meal planning, got any questions I would love to hear them! I would also love to know what steps you take, if meal planning is something you already do!
Until next Sunday have fun and keep planning! 😁❤

Prep and Prep to be Prepared😥🤘

Hi there, happy Sunday! This is a day of prep for the kiddos and me in the house! We get everything or as much as we can prepped for the week ahead of us! Do you prep for the start of the week, what do you do to help the week go smoothly?

Here in our house it is filled with lots of prep however, this is to help the week go more smoothly! As a mom of 4 and the youngest almost a month old, plans and routines might not go as I would like!
One of the ways that I prep for the coming week is to prep snacks and lunch items  for the kid’s! These items are kept on a cookie sheet in the fridge, then the kiddos just need to repack some into containers and make their sandwiches. This makes lunches quick and easy, even less hectic and stressful!
Let me know if this is a topic that you find interesting, I can share more weekly prep ideas that we do around the house!
Of coarse go ahead and hit that subsribe or follow me button to join the fun.
Till next Sunday Prep Day have a great, prepared week!😁

Can You Feel The LOVE!❤

Hi there, and welcome to It’s A Mom Life!
Valentine’s day is always a busy time here in my house, as my oldest kid was born on Valentine’s day and being my only daughter out of 4 kids, that is a very special thing! So, I have always tried to amp things up a bit, however it’s not like things are always a good deal for this materialistic day!
So with all that I try to find new ideas and diy projects that we can do together in the house. Crafts can go a long way for quality time, and the can be displayed as decorations around the house.
I also try to do something that they will find special for them. This year I had seen a lot of buzz about hearts on the door stating what the parent finds special about the child! I figured I would give it a try, and the outcome as been awesome!
My daughter is a little more in it, then my son, as I am only writhing for the two older children that can read!
I have pre cut out hearts so all I need to do is the writting! With this every night or morning I tape a heart saying what is unique and/or special about each child, and they look forward to reading the new heart to feel that “love”.
This is how it is going and what the out come looks like! They share a bedroom right now so, I have each kid’s heart on different sides of the door! I will continue to add a heart each day of February!
What do you do for your kids on Valentine’s day, do you get them something for that day or do special stuff through out the month? Let me know how you roll and what fun things you do!

Make it and love it!

The fact of it all is that as a mom of 4, I get busy! Even being a stay at home mom, it gets crazy here! Does this sound familiar? So lets make what we can easier!
For this I want to say and show you a very easy homemade cleaner, that can be used for any surface. This is good for counters, mirrors, cupboards, floors, you need to wipe it down you can go to this!
What is it you might be wondering? It is the good old vinegar and water, that’s right that’s all it is. I add some essential oils to it just to add some nice smells to the house air! This makes it easy to change smells as the season’s change also!
So… for this all you need is:
A spray bottle
Vinegar
Water
Essential oil
To make it’s just as easy, fill spray bottle about 1/4 full of vinegar, fill rest of way with water then simply add essential oil about 10-20 drops or to desired strenth!
That is it, an awesome inexpensive all purpose cleaner, to help save time and money!
Give it a try what scent’s do you enjoy, do you change with the seasons.
I am currently using lemon for the surfaces, and peppermint for my floors!
Let me know yours in the comments down below!
Until next time have a great clean, fun smelling day!
