No more mom I’m board!

Do you remember when you were a kid and summer was all you thought about? Comparing summer plans with with your friends, making plans, day dreaming of late nights and fun in the sun!
When you came out of the day dream summer was over already and your mom was packing your school bag to head back already!
Summers have always been a fun, busy time. I imagine kids these days feel the same, however now that I’m not the kid and the mom, I understand more of why my mom did certain things in the summer.

Hi everyone and welcome back to another blog here on Classy Classic’s By Kandis. I am a stay at home mom of 4 wonderful children full of more energy then the dang energizer bunny I tell ya.
With all of this energy they sure get “board” a lot in the summer! Boy oh boy, I thought I heard mom I’m board a lot with them in school, get the  home for 24hrs a day, and you better have some stuff up the sleeve.

With how quick summer flys by, and having appointments in the city on average of twice a week this summer will sure be a different one. I am putting my ideas together to try to keep everyone happy this year. Children and husband for that matter!😂

I have a couple, ideas to share that I hope strike some ideas for you! With everyone wanting to do something, but seems lime never the same it can get hard to keep everyone happy.

The first thing that I am starting with is the routines. Let’s talk summer routines!

I have this set up as there is to be no tv until at least 10am. This might get pushed a little later ro 11:00am.
Each routine should only take roughly 30-45 minutes depending on which time of day we are at.

Mornings are used to wake up the mind afternoon is to rest a little and evening is to clean up and relax! Mornings always seem to come so early in this house lol. I also still wake up or try to before the house wakes up.
However the kids routine starts around 7am and ends at roughly 10 pm ( for the older ones). Let’s go through the routines and I’ll share how I try to keep a summer as smooth and fun as I can.

As the kids are always hungry we start with breakfast, then the morning routine easy, eat, clear your dishes, wash up, make beds, get dressed, brush teeth.
Basic get ready, then they can do their exercises if they are board already, this is not quite ready but it is not much…. stay tuned for that.
There is a 10-10:30 Snack.

The afternoon is a quick tidy up, 15 min of math, reading, working in our adventure book for writing. This is at least 2-3 sentences a day or a paragraph a week.
With a snack between 3-4pm.

The evening is their zone cleaning, shower or rinse at least, clean the grubby feet up lol. Get ready for bed, there is a 8-9 pm snack for the 3 kiddos and a snack for the older kid’s while they are watching a movie or tv chilling for sleep!

So there you have it, my summer schedule for the kids while on summer break.
None of it is hard, long or cruel haha.
I hope this has helped motivate you for surving summer.
Don’t forget to take time for memories and smelling the flowers as before you know it they will be back at school, and we will be back in doors!

Happy summer prep and have a great week.

End Of Year Teacher Gifts On A Budget!

Can you believe the school year is done! It seems like they were getting their stuff ready and mama is following them around taking pictures of them in their new class room and at their desk. Outfits were being picked and lunches where being prepped! Now we are counting down the last hand full of school days, and getting end of year gifts done!

Hi I’m Kandis and welcome to Classy Classic’s By Kandis, this week’s blog is for those gifts that get sent, that we tend to forget about till the last minute!
I always think there is so much time to do end of year thank you gifts.
10 months, the kid’s are in school! That’s a long time to be with a teacher!

I will show you what I have set up this year for the teachers! This is a fun way to personalize a gift on a budget at that. There is so many things that you can do, from gift cards to hand picked fun baskets.
What do you do for  teahers?
Do you give gifts?
What is the price range you deal with?
I have 3 teachers that we are giving to this year with a little something for the secretary because I love her, I could not imagine doing her job I’ll tell ya!

With these gifts there is a mix of bought gifts and personal thought items. These cost me under $10 each!
I think they are going to be so cute! I will also point out that it is all women that I am gifting to this year so it was fun and could all be the same, one thought 3 gifts!
That’s how I like it, the less brain power involved the better some days haha!

Let’s dive into this shall we and start getting the goodies ready. I must also point out that some of it has to wait till next week as I’m baking pies!
Before you get ancy over this thought stay with me as we work through the items and why I would do this lol.
First is the baking that I am sending.
I am one of those moms that make or try to make everything from scratch, I also use to and sometimes run a small baking business out of my kitchen, so sending pies is not out of the ordinary or intimidating to me. You could buy the supplies to do this or just get some goodies and repackage them, also I am also sending dry mixes!
This will be in zip lock bags with how to instructions along with a list of required ingredeints, not much more then a dry mix from the store would require!
Dry mixes this year are to make:

  • pancakes
  • chocolate chip cookies
  • beer bread done on the barbecue.

The only ingredients are any liquid, egg, oil or beer required!
Then of coarse a apple pie, as I still think of apples for the teachers, lol call me old fashion I guess there haha.

Now, for the purchased items, things changed as I got lost in the dollar tree with so many fun ideas popping into my mind. Ok, well just the cup changed from a wine cup to a big multipurpose cup, which could still be used for wine….. or any drink haha!

Also I bought baking sheets and bread pans along with pot holders instead of baking utensils.
So let’s look I think it’s all perfect, for what I was going for.

There is a big mixing bowl, cookie sheet and a bread pan for each with a set of pot holders, new coffee cup, the cute big cup, the cutest coconut cup ever, and a small scented candle.
The dry mixes will be labeled and put into the mixing bowl.
The bowl will be the holder to everything other then the pie.
Turning it into a cute diy baking, relax fun in the sun basket!
Adding tissue paper and plastic wrap will make it look high end for a low budget!

Making a diy basket I find to be the easiest just head to a dollar tree and have FUN!

What is you idea’s for the teachers?

June Mind Dump!

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks blog on Classy Classic’s By Kandis!
This blog let me tell you is a little bit of a hot mess haha like me this week has been just go!

Don’t think, don’t over plan, just go! Sounds crazy right? I agree and I feel the effects of it I tell you.
With the count down to last day of school on, schedules are winding down for activities and other priorities are arising, no wonder my coffee intake has increased haha.

I made a decision to make a mind dump for the month. Yap the whole month!
This will be helpful for the big tasks that will require short spirts over multiple days.
I will of course be using my weekly planner, however with what feels like repeatedly rewriting the same tasks over and over, and feeling like I am accomplishing nothing….even tho as the basic chores still get done, to break the big tasks down into little ones over the week’s, might be more motivating.

That is where the June brain dump came into play, and I like it lol.
Just having that over veiw of bigger tasks on one movable sheet is helpful, instead of big tasks and the breakdown all in the planner gets old!
When I get stuck on what to do or feel things are not getting done, I can see how much closer I am to completing the whole task.
With so many new things to take care of in the short summer months, I need to cross off bigger tasks that can only be done or easier to do in these months.

Have you tried a mind dump?
Do you like them?
What are your big goals for the month?
I am hoping to get many goals done along with summer freezer meals, and the yard, and some more neglected corners done, and the summer routine written out!

I’m planning on pushing through in June, getting as much as I can done, in hopes for a smooth relaxing July!

Be on the lookout for the summer schedule and tips for making it through the summer months with all the kids home!
Do you do summer schedules or just go with it?

Make sure you are following me for lots of day to day posts and fun talks on Facebook under classyclassicsbykandis and Instagram under Kandis Blask! Hope to talk on one of these about all the fun summer can have.
Any topics or ideas you want to talk, ask about or plan for let me know in the comments down below or on one of the pages.
Till next blog have a great week, and stay planning!

Now That’s A Good Day! 🤗

Do you have a prep day? A day to just reset, gather and prepare for your next week! Get some tasks out of the way, so its ready for the week.
Do you catch up on laundry, do the house cleaning, get you clothes out for the week, maybe make lunches for work, or kids school?
The list goes on for what one might prep for the upcoming week.
What do you aim for? What day is you reset or prep day?

Hi I’m Kandis and welcome to Its A Mom.
If your new go ahead and hit that follow button to join the fun and conversations here, for ways to make it through that shift or season of life that you are in.
If your a follower welcome back.

I always find dredded Mondays to be a little easier when I got my prep done. My day to reset and prepare is Sundays, we have no activities usually and this can make so much more time in the week.
Between activities and school, lunches to pack, reading and little ones, who has time in this season of life to get it done eveynight.
When is your prep day? Weekend or a say off?

When we prep for the week it’s usually the same routine. Get all the laundry gathered and taken down, and sorted. If there is any extra laundry that has to be done for Monday it goes in.
Sundays I also sit down and work in my planner, not only do I set up and design my planner, I look over that activities are when and what time for the week. This helps as we are now starting new after school activities. I write out my to do list for the week sometimes half the week with how my planner is set up but not always.
Kids get their clothes picked out for the week, and homework is caught up and school papers are signed, looked over and packed.
I take this day to prep all their snacks for their lunches. This way its ready to pack into containers each day. This guarantee’s healthy snacks.
They just need to make their sandwich each night!

Needless to say Sundays are a important day for this house!
What does your prep day or reset day look like, when do you do it?
Let me know in the comments down below.
Until next blog happy prepping, remember a little can go a long way!❤

Snacks for there lunches

Love my planner time good for the mind and soul lol

Guess they need socks for the week.. So many SOCKS!!

Thank Golly For Meal Prepping!

Hello and good Sunday morning welcome to Its A Mom Life. For this blog I wanted to take you along with me as I am going to and have been prepping meals for the week. We had a crazy week as my husband had an accident!
With the craziness of life anyways followed by everything else, follow up on another blog.
However with everything thrown at us, suppers and life as been not top priority, however still a nessesety. I had got groceries at least, and now I’m needing to prep stuff so I don’t need to worry as much on that aspect. So where to start?
I need to look at what I have, the fridge to start as i need to there, I have meat to separate and bag up, so it can get into the freezer so it won’t go bad.
I had bought 2 pork tenderloins so I can get a bit there. So let’s cut those up first, and get the pack of chicken cooked up. With the pork there will be pork chunks for a stew or stir fry, then pork chops and a a meal with a half of the loin. Stay tuned for Thursday’s recipe blog.
Ok so the meats are taken care of now in to sides. I will do a big pot of potatoes, this can be mashed potatoes and then potato cakes. I will be doing a blog also on those, as we had them last n8ght and I got rushed and forgot to blog it!
Then on to veggies, there is cauliflower as I can sometimes get 2 meals from the one head. I will roast some one day and stream some with a cheese sauce for another. There is then mixed veggies, and any veggies from the freezer as I can go to my freezer inventory for ideas. I also had a big can of cream corn that got used used.
I make a big pot of rice for a couple meals, then the left overrice can be used in the pork stew!
With these I’m hoping to get the week prepped along with a couple weeks of meal planning done, to calm some waters!
I hope you enjoyed this blog, and if you want more like this let me know in the comments down below. Make sure you hit that follow button for all the upcoming blogs.
Till next time happy prep day, take some time today to save some time tomorrow!
Got any suggestions or questions on the prepping I am and will be doing let me know in the comments down below I would love to hear and answer any!

I was positive that I had other pictures however, this is 2 pork tenderloin, im just trim the fat and cut it into what prices I want. A pork tenderloin, 5 pork chop meals, and two packs of pork chunks! All that from 2 tenderloins I got both for $46.00!!

Doing More At Once!

Hello and good morning welcome back! It’s a great day for a mom talk I think, with the beautiful Wednesday, the first day of spring! 🌼🌲
With the days counting down now for when we can bust out of the house, I find my self getting very ancy about how I would like the house to be.
Very little other the basics get done in the house for the few months, that we have outside. So how I leave the house can be important.
With this I am also getting panicky about how to do it without wearing myself completely out.
With having 4 kids ages 10,8,2 and 2 months, I do have to be mindful on my energy levels still.
Let’s talk about how I’m planning on getting it all done, this also goes with the March decluttering challenge.
I’m going to finish the last couple spots that I need to organized and declutter, stay tuned for up coming blogs about that. 😉
I’m then going to categorize my tasks that I would like to get done!
What needs sorting what needs deep cleaning still, what needs to get ready to go out to the shed or garage, as those are projects for this summer.
Get the last of the stuff from upstairs, done as the basement which is a hot mess with being storage, my bedroom and the laundry room, there is lots to do down there. There is also lots of kids clothes I would like to pack better for better storage for the younger kids. With trying to categorize my tasks, I am hoping and scheming to get what I need to done for the end of March.
That way I can focus in my basement come April, then the outside tasks in May. Just getting a game plan can make my anxeity calm down, even a little and prepare me for what might not gone.
I will keep you posted on my progress throught out the house, as I hope to hear about your progress.
Remember little by little it will get done, instead of a giant list, group them it might make it seem a little easier to manage.
Till next time happy spring, and happy house cleaning.

Hello and welcome to Its A Mom Life. Happy Wednesday, it’s moms Tips and Tricks blog!!
Who doesn’t love reading, learning and sharing new tips for so you have more time, for the stuff we would actually like to do?
Do you ever dread suppers? The thought of thinking and having to cook about another meal?
Days can blur together, and suppers can become tirering and boring. Any meal takes time and thought, now do that 3 times a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year.
That’s a lot of meals, that’s actually 1,095 meals a year! Yap that’s a lot, no wonder we don’t want to cook everyday!
Even just talking suppers that’s still 365 suppers to prep and cook everyday. Why do we do so much?
So many reasons it’s better for us, it saves more, it makes us think we look better to others!
This tips and tricks blog is plan a head and make that 365 suppers not as bad! Sounds good right?
I’m not just talking about meal planning your week’s I am talking plan those lazy or no cook nights!

So that is what my moms Tips and Tricks blog is for this Wednesday, make all those meals work for you. Don’t always worry about healthy, fancy, and perfectly balanced. Take the time and the help when you can. This is something that can be harder to do and accept then making the meal but, in the long run it will be better.

Reuse And Grow A Great Garden!!

Hello, and good morning. Welcome to Its A Mom Life, happy Wednesday. This is a great day for a mom tips and tricks blog!
Do you plant a garden? What do you grow? Last is when do you start your seeds, if you do start your own?
I use to pre buy all my plants that I could not just plant in the ground. That was before tho and after spending so much money as I have a large garden, years ago I set out to start trying to replant some of my own plants. I still buy some from the green house, and try to always get some flowers and plants need to support our loyal greenhouses. As I am from a small town I try to get a little bit from both greenhouses! So what’s some tricks that I use when starting seeds?
I have started some seeds already it was the end of February and I do try to start them earlier then that, but life happened and it was the end of the month! Story of my life there haha.
There are so many different products put there to start your own seeds, however all that stuff adds up very fast.
So I would love to share what I use that works just as great!😁 To start the seeds it can be easier to have something not to big to start those little seeds in.
For this I absolutely love individual yogurt containers, these are great to ensure that you get one strong plant to transfer and grow up big and strong. However I don’t usually have these as I don’t buy individual yogurts for in this house, too many kids for that!
So, what do I use then? Egg cartons are what I go for! These are great to have one plant started in, with these they are also biodegradable also, so when transfering into bigger pots you can just put it all into the pot, and not worry about damaging the roots! Since these are not plastic and will leak water of course I then need something to hold them in.
For this I have some easy reusing ways of making little greenhouses for in my own house!
When you buy fruit in the winter those plastic containers that say grapes come in, don’t throw out, these make perfect little greenhouses. Got any of the large plastic containers that you get margerine in, yap those hold lots. You can also use plastic sheets that come with flowers to put on top to insulate it and make a great heated greenhouse for those little seeds. You can also fit rows of egg cartons in them so you don’t have to always pre cut into signal squares depending on what you are growing! This year I am trying to preplant some in small rows of cartons, to just put into the garden row, this way they will already be properly spaced for me also!😉
This is my mom tips and tricks for today! Let me know if you liked this gardening blog?
What tips and tricks would you like to hear and talk about next Wednesday?
I would love to know!
Till next week, have a great growing day!
As always don’t forget to hit that follow button for all the upcoming blogs here on It’s A Mom Life!!

Any carton just cut as desired!
I had the kid’s cut the egg cartons out!
