HOT CHOCOLATE AND COFFEE STATION!

Hi, good morning, welcome to classy classics by Kandis. I hope you had a good week.

Have you started decorating for Christmas yet?

Did you get a chance to look at last week’s blog all about the holiday prep that is started in the house.

START TO HOLIDAY PREP!

It is been getting fun here. More and more decorations come out. More and more talk about Christmas and more and more Christmas presents are being bought and being hid.

One of my favourite parts about my decorations is our hot chocolate station that I started couple years ago for the kids. They love it they ask for it every year. And as much as I love giving it to them, I also don’t like giving it to them because then I fight with them of what only really wanting to have hot chocolate. With how the world is this year, and the uncertainty of how Christmas is I thought why not just go ahead and do an awesome hot chocolate station. There’s enough chores outside that they can go and do some to come in to get warmed up with some hot chocolate.

I thought I would take you along and show you how I setup my hot chocolate and coffee station this year!

Hot chocolate station!

I added a couple things. Didn’t put a couple things on but it’s still as cute.

Do you do a hot chocolate station?

Have you ever wanted one?

How is yours setup?

I just used a bunch of old Christmas decorations that were handed down and some really cute tins.

I was never really sure what to put in them until I realized that the perfect hot chocolate station would go great with these cute little tins.

If you are ready let’s go and talk about the hot chocolate station.

Make sure they give the blog a like if you enjoy blogs like this. They’ll be so much more fun blogs coming up through the holiday season. So make sure you like the blog and also make sure to follow the blog.

So for the start of my hot chocolate station, I have this really cute Santa tray, I have these three tins that are different sizes that fit into each other and these work great for all the little hot chocolate knick knacks!

In one of them in the large one I usually add a bag so it doesn’t get as dirty, and I fill it with hot chocolate mix. I also do it this way because I buy my hot chocolate from the Bulk Bard because you can get more for less. Unfortunately when I had went to the first Balk Barn that I was going to they were out of hot chocolate. All three containers of the hot chocolate was completely empty! That’s okay, I will head up a different Bulk Barn next time I’m in a different city. I will get the hot chocolate for the kiddos.

Hot chocolate mix!

Another thing you could use is those individual baggies of the really cute flavors of hot chocolate you can definitely pick up a couple of those, put those out on your tray so you could have a variety of hot chocolate. If you wanted instead of just hot chocolate.

So then the middle sized one, I have 1 for mini marshmallows! Can’t have hot chocolate without mini marshmallows, right?

Little smaller for marshmallows!

There is then the mini one that I have, that’s the one that I use for candy canes and peppermint candies because you can’t have a fun Christmas hot chocolate without mini marshmallows and candy cane!

Right?

This is at least what I have been informed for my children after I started doing this.

The small one for candies.. just too cute!

This year I went and bought some chocolate covered coffee beans for the husband and myself. I’m not sure where to put these on with them on the tray because they are cute and they’re coffee except for I can’t have the kids getting into them because they are coffee beans, so I might just try to find a cute little container to put some on the tray.

I also added some tea bags that are some of my favourite teas and some of the kids favorite tea. I drink red rose and green tea and my kids love peach mango right now and spiced apple. It honestly taste just like an apple pie, it’s delicious.

Another thing that I am adding is a couple packs of instant coffee. Now before you like get totally devastated. I do not drink what I call “fake” coffee. I do not drink decaf coffee, or instant. I am the one that don’t drink coffee all day everyday and I’m okay with that.

So when I got handed some packs of instant coffee to try I laughed at my friend and he told me just to try them so I tried one and you know what it was really good. When I happen to be down Walmart, I have found a pack and you know a box of these were only like 6 bucks. So I grabbed the box because y’all late nights, or when I know I shouldn’t be having another pot of coffee and I just want to have a nice cup of coffee. Boil some water and whatever then I can just have a quick cup of instant coffee. The stuff that I bought was French vanilla and it really is good.

I would also like to get out some coffee stir sticks out and put them on the tray. For anybody who’s making a cup, I usually put the cups on the tray to we all have our own Christmas cups, but with trying to get at least 6 cups, if not more out onto a tray is crazy and it seems really cluttered.

So this year I just pulled some of my cups in the cupboard out and I added our coffee cups into the cupboard so that we didn’t have all of these cute breakable Christmas cups all over the counter. My toddler right now is all into sitting on the counter all the time, this is a reason why one I wanted the coffee beans put into a container, but also why I wasn’t sure if I should have our Christmas cups out on the counter! So there you have it! That’s my hot chocolate and coffee station.

I also have this other Santa platter that is really cute with Santa fishing! On this one, I’m leaving in a little more simple. I have this Christmas tree platter that I always put my mints on that I make for Christmas and so this year before I get my mints done, I’ve just been putting little treats on.

Treat Tray!

I bought banana chips and some chocolate covered pretzels and stuff, I have just been putting those on there.

I have a couple napkins in this really cute Santa holder! It’s actually a plant holder like a pot! I don’t have a plant that’s actually that small that I could put into their just for the Christmas season. So I just have a bag and I have some red and green napkins in it.

I also have this cute candle on it is now the candle has never been lite, that really bugs one of my kids because he’s all about lighting candles. But it’s more for decoration because it’s just this cute little wrapped looking present so I think it looks really cute beside the snack tree.

After I get some cookies done, I’ll maybe have a couple cookies on there. But my cookies go into my snowman cookie jar here, and it’s really cute because you can turn the lid and it says full and empty so I can either trick the kids into leaving my cookies alone, or they know to let me know or to fill it up when it gets empty.

This is also kind of a problem because the kids tend to go through a lot of cookies when the cookie jar is always full.

The other cookie jar that I have here. I didn’t use just as a decoration this year,I actually went ahead and put parchment paper in it and I was keeping our Christmas oranges in it. It was really cute that way it works out really really cute. So I think I’m going to stick with that one and get some more Christmas oranges.

My kids are all about Christmas oranges at this time. I assume it’s because they can peel themselves and they’re just small and cute and super sweet and I only buy them at Christmas time! Do you remember when you were little and you could only get them at Christmas time? It was like the best Christmas trear ever! I don’t understand how all those things you can get Christmas oranges all year round!

Well that’ll probably wrap up the blog for my hot chocolate and coffee station!

What did you think?

Do you have a hot chocolate station?

They are really easy to make, you can use anything that you have in your house. You can just as easily go to the Dollar Tree and for as little as $5, you can have your own super cute hot chocolate station made.

START TO HOLIDAY PREP!

Hi, good morning. Welcome to Classy Classics By Kandis. I hope you had a good week last week. We went through the laundry schedule. With homemade laundry detergent in my homemade laundry fabric softener!

How did your week go with your laundry?

Did you get a new laundry routine?

Do you have a good one in place?

I will leave a link to the blog at the end.

With November here, and Remembrance Day now over, the Christmas holidays can start. My rule was always that I would never start getting ready for Christmas until after Remembrance Day. Usually, it would be till after my son’s birthday, which is the 4th of Decembe, but this year he said we could do it early and I want Christmas to come. After discussion with the family and deciding that we can decorate early. I don’t usually have Christmas decorations up for his birthday, but why not incorporate Christmas into his 10th birthday?

Santa usually goes on a door or window, not this year!

All of a sudden on Facebook everywhere, I’ve seen everybody with their trees up. This is when I start getting a little antsy for Christmas. So, we then decided that we were going to start. It’s funny because when I start, we don’t start with a tree as a couple reasons for that, we do a real tree. Last year was the first year that we had a fake tree. We are not sure if we are going to do a fake tree or we’re going to go into the real tree again. We always do a real tree. It has become a family tradition that we were trying not to have to break.

START of the living ROOM!

So, when it comes to prepping for Christmas, my prepping is a little different. The first thing that I do to prep for Christmas is I make a new Christmas outline book. I did this one a couple years ago and I love it. It totally changed the way that I do Christmas plan and prep.

Just a easy cover as I’m not artistic

Everything is in one notebook it’s super easy and it’s just paper I put together. It is just as easy as can be and it’s also as cheap as can be. Both which is perfect for me at this time of year. In my book I have everything in there that I kinda would need to keep me organized through the year.

My Christmas outline

As you can see, I have everything from where Christmas is going to be, cards, baking down to our budget for everybody! What I have ordered, what needs to be ordered and some gift ideas. There’s also a spot for orders that maybe still need to come in or that I still need to order. I’m not sure how Christmas shopping will go this year. And so, I wanted it done early this year as there may be problems with shipping not fast this year, even issues with just getting gifts from the stores.

So, I went to Amazon to do a Christmas order, one on wish… my first time! We are getting ready to go to the city this weekend, I actually got a babysitter whoop whoop, hubby and myself are going to go hit up a city and try to get as much Christmas shopping as we can done.

one of a couple boxes coming in lol

Then if I need to place another order, hopefully I will have time to place one more order probably through Amazon because they are the quickest and easiest way to track my orders.

So, after my Christmas book is ready and my nerves get a little easier. Knowing that it’s still just the middle of November and I have lots of time, I then go and started pulling boxes. I have a crawl space upstairs; I am thankfully to have a spot I to put all of my Christmas decorations in to. So, my oldest son and me started pulling boxes, we got to start seeing where stuff was going to go.

I am taking a bit to get my decorating done, I’m really excited this year to get the hot chocolate and coffee station set-up. I think this will be a nicer set up to with the kids being at home. I tend to usually not always like it because then all they want to do is drink hot chocolate, however when it comes to this year and the craziness and all the uncertainty still, I am being more like come on kid if you want hot chocolate, go do some outside chores and come on in and have some hot chocolate. Haha.

I think that’s almost something that I am being more excited about is that my kids are home this year and they get to be here all day to enjoy the Christmas beautifulness. This might make it a little harder to do some of my prep and to keep stuff, I might have to hide them a little more, but I think it’ll be really good for all of us to be home.

With the early Christmas decorations have you started decorating for Christmas yet?

How do you start?

What is your step 1 and what you do for Holiday prep?

Another thing that I do is I do a local cookie giveaway. I used to do Christmas trays all the time, however it got a little hard to give out. So, with that I started doing a fun little Christmas giveaway. With some Christmas questions and just some Christmas fun for the community, fun for a dozen cookies, I still have a couple trays that I do give away, but not like I used to.

With this one of the next things that I do is I’m going to sit down and figure out my Christmas baking what cookies and desserts I need to prep for! Trying to get any of my groceries that are needing to come, with one haul right before Christmas. With this I tend to do too many cookies and I feel like I might have to back it off a little this year with not having as many, gatherings and visitors this Christmas season there is always some staple cookies that needs to be done. And so, no matter what there is lots of cookies and treats in this house for the Christmas season. With that I will be getting a list going and I will of coarse share oh so many yummy Christmas cookie recipes with you.

Do you do Christmas baking?

What is your favourite Christmas cookie?

I usually will make my cookies, decorate them depending on what kind of cookie, get them all completely done then I put them in the freezer. This way when we’re leaving a cookie tray or when the kids needs another round of cookies, we can just pull them out of the freezer and put them into the cookie jar.

As far as our stocking stuffers go, it’s so pricey all the time. I never know what to do, I tend to use the Dollar Tree and dollar stores for that stuff. This year will not be different. I never quite know what to put in the stocking’s and its always staple stuff that I put in so that it’s an easier thing. They always of course of cute little knick-knacks.Every year they do get body wash, new toothbrush, toothpaste, loofah, bubble bath, stuff like that! Bathroom stuff that they don’t always like to share, also my 2 oldest are boy and girl, so being able to give separate items is needed and an easy way to fill some stocking!

Usually, every year I will have my budget completely done before I even start putting an order in, but this year with the uncertainty of it all I really just picked some items, I will do a better layout before I hit the city tho! I am determined to get as much as I can done early like I say this because with my luck I would go to go do my Christmas shopping, and that city would shut down. LOL, this is just my luck of 2020, this is also why I said I wanted to have as much shopping as I could done, as early as I could so that I had time to still go and get what was needed without running around trying to find it and ended up spending a fortune on something that shouldn’t be that much.

It’s going to be such a fun holiday season on the blog. I hope you will join in on the Christmas spirit here. If you are liking holiday blogs, go ahead and give it a like. And make sure that you are signed up to follow the blog by adding an email you will get a notification of when I upload a new blog.
