Doing More At Once!

Hello and good morning welcome back! It’s a great day for a mom talk I think, with the beautiful Wednesday, the first day of spring! 🌼🌲
With the days counting down now for when we can bust out of the house, I find my self getting very ancy about how I would like the house to be.
Very little other the basics get done in the house for the few months, that we have outside. So how I leave the house can be important.
With this I am also getting panicky about how to do it without wearing myself completely out.
With having 4 kids ages 10,8,2 and 2 months, I do have to be mindful on my energy levels still.
Let’s talk about how I’m planning on getting it all done, this also goes with the March decluttering challenge.
I’m going to finish the last couple spots that I need to organized and declutter, stay tuned for up coming blogs about that. 😉
I’m then going to categorize my tasks that I would like to get done!
What needs sorting what needs deep cleaning still, what needs to get ready to go out to the shed or garage, as those are projects for this summer.
Get the last of the stuff from upstairs, done as the basement which is a hot mess with being storage, my bedroom and the laundry room, there is lots to do down there. There is also lots of kids clothes I would like to pack better for better storage for the younger kids. With trying to categorize my tasks, I am hoping and scheming to get what I need to done for the end of March.
That way I can focus in my basement come April, then the outside tasks in May. Just getting a game plan can make my anxeity calm down, even a little and prepare me for what might not gone.
I will keep you posted on my progress throught out the house, as I hope to hear about your progress.
Remember little by little it will get done, instead of a giant list, group them it might make it seem a little easier to manage.
Till next time happy spring, and happy house cleaning.

Homemade Icing Sugar!

Good moring and welcome back to Its A Mom Life, if your new make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button for all the upcoming blogs.
Grab a coffee, and join in the topics, I have a variety of topics that get covered Here on It’s A Mom Life.
So if your ready let’s do this! It’s Thursday which is a new recipe!
How to make icing sugar. I find it costs so much to make icing sometimes. The amount of icing sugar that is used and for the fact it’s like $5 bucks a bag… or something lol, it can add up really quick!
I find I run out when I need it! So one day push came to shove and I had to make some! Where I always to when I need to find something trusty Pinterest!
I will leave the link below however this one is so straight forward and easy, the only thing I will say that I didn’t like is that it is more gritty, as it is hard to grind down enough.
All you need is 1 cup of sugar to 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
This will make 1 cup of icing sugar.
All you do is put this into a grinder (if you have one), I use my blender. The blender does make the sugar warm tho and so I’m cool it before sealing the bag, I just use a large zip lock bag!
So if your in a pinch, give it a try, let me know what you think in the comments down below.
Till next week happy baking, make sure you enjoy it.🤗😉

Keep It Going!

Good morning everyone and welcome back to Its A Mom Life!
This Monday is a little different as it’s not a new challange as with March challenge it’s to just keep moving thought the house week by week, room or category by room or category. This is also  not really a money saving tip per say either.
Any how it’s a good one as it has a little of both in it. I thought I would show you how my week has went with this challenge and what I have been up to! In this blog I will share my two bigger tasks that got done.
First let’s talk about that filing cabinet.😑This is a task that if kept up will not take  long to do. I have been trying very hard the last couple years not to keep it all, so I came to the compromise with my self is to just keep the year before. With my bills anyways yes there is stuff that needs to be kept longer.
So what I try to do is keep one envelope for each bill, then as I pay then they can go I to the proper folder and envelope into the cabinet.
This way at the end of the year I just need to pull the one envelope that has all 12 months in it and shred or burn it. Then the new one can start and the one that was just finished can be the one in the back aka the last years! This is now it can stay next and organized, without discarding them immediately.
The next task that I did this week was my pantry! I wanted to get this done as I’m getting ready to do a bigger grocery haul, and this will make it easier to see what I need to refill and restock on.
Not to much happening in here, I have a couple bins on the top shelf that I use to hold and organize kids and our medications.
I have a small bin for some special kid treats on the top.
I have an old cardboard box that works great this holds my food coloring and sprinkles, extracts etc.
I also have a box in the back corner thst holds extra spices.
Then other then that I have the plastic containers that came from a dollorama store for cereal.
That is about the extent to my organization in the pantry, I look forward to trying to get it a little more organized. Want a closer look at the bins and exactly how I use them all? Let me know in the comments down below!
How do you organize the pantry let me know in the comments down below, would love some knew ideas!
What rooms or categories did you tackle last week?
Did it motivate you to keep going? What is your next task? I would love to hear!
Till next Mondays blog, have a great decluttering week, hope you find the space or things you might be looking for lol.

Little At A Time!

Good morning and welcome to Its A Mom Life! If your new go ahead and hit that follow button to join the fun here, if your not welcome back for todays blog!
It’s a organizing blog, and with that I have some quick inexpensive ways to show you, how I organized my bathroom!
I needed a topic of this Sunday and with decluttering the house, i started in the bathroom last week, and thought I would share how there is 6 peoples stuff in here! We have a very small bathroom in the house, and for years now I have been finding ways to fit everything in here, especially with a growing family. So, what better organizing topic then that!
There is always so much stuff that for some reason is located in the bathroom!
What about your bathroom , wish you had a little extra room?
These ideas are not to be permanent, but to tie me over, and it has! Some of the things have been there for years now, and some are new!
So first let begin with sorry about the scrappy pictures there is actually not enough room for me to get a good picture of the bathroom, however I did get some of what I wanted to share.
Let’s start with under the sink, I have a basket i got for a wedding gift almost 11 years ago now, that fits nice under there and this hold stuff the little ones can’t get hold of and some extra stuff that, just make sense to be there. This is peroxide and rubbing alcohol, q tips, cotton balls, and some stuff that is to tall for any drawers. My water pick, bubble bath, etc. Then on the side and in the back I just have some random bathroom stuff and my plug in makeup mirror, girl products, and the baby wash. On the inside of the doors there are just plastic cups with Velcro strips that are perfect for holding smaller things that were taking up to much room anywhere. The razors, extra razors that need special heads on them, one has kids crayon toy things lol, and one has alcohol wipes and some bandages.
I have two plastic stands with drawers that hold most stuff. Perfume, hubbies shaving stuff, hair brushes bath stuff, hair stuff etc etc.
I recently got rid of a stand and moved the tooth brushes in the little holders on the side of the wall is again just up with Velcro I am planning on screwing the holders to the wall.
Then the stand above the toilet, I just decluttered this area I had a basket with just stuff, however I found better spots and the items now on the stand bottom shelf, I thought might get used more if put in the open. Then there is just towels, hand towels and in a small basket face clothes.
The white container holds now anyways our hair elastic, extra bars of soap, and little lotion bottles.
Then the next thing is the newest and I love, as I don’t have much storage, is the shelf right above the door. This holds the extra toilet paper, paper towel, travel bathroom bag and my jug of epsom salt. That is about it, that is how I fit 6 peoples things in the small bathroom.
What do you think like organizing blogs like this, let me know in the comments down below. There is more like this for sure. Let me know what you are interested in!
Till next time have a great week organizing, and remember there is more room then you sometimes think!

Slow Down!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Its A Mom Life. Happy Friday❤
How good is it that first day of spring is coming very quick!
Late nights, fires, bbq season! There is also garden season and outside cleaning. It seems no matter what season it is, there is always a list! Always doing something, even when we are not at home out camping or just at the lake there is still always something that has to be done. A thing you should know about me is that I don’t stop! It can be hard to get myself to slow down and stop to smell those roses.
With all of this said this mom talk I thought would be perfect timing to say just slow down.
Stop and enjoy what there is, the kid’s giggling (when not fighting), blowing bubbles, sunny walks, lazy tanning times. I need to slow down and enjoy it. What about you? Do you go a little to hard sometimes and forget to enjoy the summer, or just the day? This can be a hard task when it comes to having a family also.
I am here to say and to tell my self that this spring and summer to just slow down. Tasks will get done, and still be able to enjoy the days before they are gone again. The days seem to just fly by and there is little notice of that day other then the same tasks! So bring on family fun basking in the sun, and still doing the summer jobs that’s are required in those short months.
What do you think, are you excited about slowing down this summer?
Let me know your thoughts, and make sure to hit that follow button to stay updated on the blogs here to come!
Till next time go enjoy your day, however it may be fast paste or a little slower!

There is nothing better then a fresh smelling house, unfortunately with kids the house sometimes has kid smells in it lol.
Air freshener can smell very thick, and it can add up with how much you need to use! Then you have all the added chemicals that are put into that bottle.

Where To Start!

Hello welcome back to Its A Mom Life, if you are knew make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button to never miss any of the fun here on the blog.
Last week we started a new house decluttering challange, and the problem that I have is not knowing where to start!
This challange I am not going necessarily room by room, but more by category. I tend to bounce around. This depends what kids are up, or around as the little one can’t be around some tasks.
This week I focused more on my bathroom, and my new arts and craft drawer. With those I did take time to clean some corners or containers out. My bathroom however is getting deep cleaned Monday, so today. I’m moving stuff, so the hubby can finish a shelf, so I will deep clean then as it’s my bathroom cleaning day!
So as you can tell I’m bouncing, as I put something in its home or new home, or gathering so it can get a new home. With this I keep saying little be little, as many smaller tasks are getting done vs big tasks.
I however got almost 2 bags of garbage and added to my donate/ sell box, more garbage this week just because of where I was working. I ended up completely cleaning out my fridge and organized my freezer on my fridge.
I hope you get some motivation to do and/or keep up with this challenge as I am getting more and more excited to get through the house for summer.
Till next week let’s keep decluttering and cleaning those neglected corners. Keep up the hard work it will pay off and show in the long run.
I look forward to showing you my progress next week, as I hope you are making good progress too!
Let me know in the comments down below are you decluttering? What have you parted with this 2019?
Have a great week and let some of the stuff go!

Bathroom definently got decluttered!

Not much decluttered some old stuff but a good clean for under the cupboards!

The new arts and craft drawer!😍
How dirty was the shelf on my kitchen counter!😮
Yeah super clean felt good to get it nice and clean!

Different Spot Different Use!

Well good morning happy Sunday, and welcome to Its A Mom Life, if your new make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button to never miss out on all the fun here on the blog!
It’s a good day for a blog as it is one of my favorite topics! PLANNING AND ORGANIZING! I just get a thrill out of trying new ways to stay organized, with summer on it’s way…. I hope to get what I can done in the house as I am outside as much as I can be in the short summer months here in Saskatchewan.
As part of the March challenge it was to organize the house room to room or category by category. Since for years things got shifted so much from here to there, I am doing a little of both ways.
Something I wanted to share is how just by relocating something it can be a new thing! What do I mean? Let me tell you!
I lack storage in my house, and as you mammas know storage is a must with a growing family, with all the hand me downs that get saved for the next kid it’s easy to run out of space! My solution for this at this point of life anyways was to add some, with what I have to work with.
There is a closet in my daughter’s room, she also had 2 dressers, one which was not the best as the drawers tended to fall out when it was opened. Not the best for a kid and daily use. So what did I do? I slid the dresser into the closet.
As there is only 2 closets in the house the one in her room is a storage one instead of her things.
Now in the closet I have just in the dresser, the top 2 drawers are for extra sheets for the kid’s beds more for summer as they are the thinner sheets. Then I now have a art and craft drawer that helps with all the stuff kept here and There! Then the bottom drawer I have paper, folders, dividers etc. This makes it so handy to either put the stuff in one spot as I come across more going through the house, but also to know exactly where it is located!
This is what I mean when I say moving something can make it have a whole new purpose!
Give it a try, have something that’s just not cutting it anymore? Try looking at it in a new way! Move it, flip it, add organizers into it! There is always more then one way to use something, sometimes you just need to think outside of the box!
Try seeing what you can reuse to make something work better for you, let me know how it worked out in the comments down below I would love to hear about it!
Till next week have fun organizing, you have more handy things then you think if you want to see them, so have fun and don’t forget to think outside the box.
