Where did the week go!

One week, 7 days, 168 hours, how did it go so fast! Did I blink, get caught up in life or just what?

Good morning I’m Kandis and welcome to Its A Mom Life. My two oldest kids went for Easter break this year, they were gone for a whole week! So what did I do with my time? Well for the weekend we did Easter stuff, go ahead and read my blast from the past post, for the adventures.

Now what about the next 5 days? I had a pretty big to do list happening, I feel I should of shortened it, however there were some stuff I just really needed done! I pushed myself this week to accomplish as much as I could in the end I’m pretty impressed.
Lately I’ve been trying to feel proud of what I got done, instead of dwelling on what I didn’t. I could do so much but if there is anything left, I feel I could of done more, which is silly as I can do a lot in a day! So, yes this is part of my summer goals is to slow down!

So Monday, turned into a city run. Hubby had physio and it turned out we sold one of our cars the night before, it happened to be to one of my old friends.
Waking up Monday, breakfast and cleaning up the house, we headed outside for some play time. Keeping the toddler up hoping he would just sleep in the van.
As we came in had a quick lunch, cleaned up the kitchen. As the husband took off for physio I nursed the baby and got every lined up, to head out with the kids next. Headed down, grabbed some coffee and met up to drop off the car.
Had a great little visit as it’s been a very long time since I had seen my friend. Heading back home around 4:30 got home and jumped right into supper and our night routine.

Tuesday was a nice day at home. However a couple things of coarse changed. Having to make a fast trip into another city I got to drop off lots of clothes to the donation boxes, and had a sale to drop off of girl clothes. Heading back home as we were supposed to visit a good friend that evening. Got home, unloaded, packed snacks and off we went. Once again a great visit that evening it ran even more late, however I happened to buy a frozen pizza in the city so supper was a sinch. Pizza in the oven both kids had baths, masyn had supper as I got the baby ready for bed. Both little ones in bed it was time for some mama time lol.

Wednesday came fast, and it was a good day, with being a home I ended up getting lots more crossed off the list. Again with the hubby gone to the city for physio I stayed home in hope for a productive day. Getting the last 2 tubs folded and organized of boy clothes, I have completed sorted and organizing it all. I have to buy some more vacuum seal bags to completely finish my project and I am so excited and happy about this. The baby had not been napping the last couple days so it was more quick basic tiding that occurred. With supper coming as my husband was just running to the grocery store to pick up some smokie I made with some perogies in the freezer, it was a perfect supper plan for hump day.

Thursday was a early day that was supposed to be a very long car day. With the baby and hubby having doctors appointments we took off for our first city shortly after 9:00am. Getting those done he had a meeting to quickly attend then we were supposed to be off to Edmonton for more meetings. This one did not occur we decided to reschedule the Edmonton stuff for the following week and headed home. Getting home we just hung out, as everyone needed a little regroup and chill time. With supper, baths and of coarse cleaning up done, it was a other day done. However with the kid’s coming home the next day it was panic time as like I said, I feel as tho I should of had more tasks accomplished. So I tackled the dvd’s, and with it being me they are in alphabetical order, but needing some tlc as it had been a long time since they were organized. I spent oh so long, much longer then planned…. this ended up taking 2 hours🤤 but it’s done I guess!

Then Friday was here just like that kids are due home around 1. I quickly vacuumed and finished a couple things. Then headed outside and quickly got the bottles sorted. Almost all done I have glass bottles to bag, and 2 small bags to sort and those are done.
I always sort mine at home to make a fast trip when taking them in! What do you do? Do you sort or have them sort?

With all these tasks done, I have also been looking high and low and relooking and resorting places I should not have redue all for the jolly jumper for the baby. I know it’s here I have had it for 10 years and just seen it! Of coarse the week that I wanted to try it, think I could find it! I will find it!
When the kids got home and settled in,I had to quickly vacuum the basement, this was a goal to finish the basement for April. With some hidden paper work to sort through still, it is done. I am so happy to say I got my basement cleaned!

So that was a week in the life here! A busy week, filled with goals and tasks, that in the end got done. With 2 kids one who did not want to nap, multiple trips to the city, it was a good week, I will take my done list over my not done as I feel the week was a win!
I hope you had a good Easter break! What tasks did you get done, feeling more ready for May?

Homemade Chocolates!

Have you ever noticed how there is not a holiday where chocolate is not acceptable? Why is it that chocolate goes up in cost at the holidays?

Hi good morning welcome to Its A Mom Life, I’m Kandis and I love chocolate. Well sweets for that matter, when it comes to will power I have none, when it comes to sweets!
I love baking which does not always help. The only good thing is I can say it’s healthier as I’m stuffing my mouth lol!

I thought I would share how I made very easy, basic chocolates for Easter this year. This is how I melt all chocolate for baking also. I use a double boiling pot method!

I do this way as chocolate burns easier then one thinks. This just makes it a little more fool proof as you melt the chocolate.
For this method simply take 2 pots, one that will fit in the other.
Add water to the bottom pot, place smaller pot in water.
Heat on low to medium heat. Add your chocolate to the empty pot, stir while it melts.

For these chocolates I used white chocolate squares and semi-sweet chocolate squares. In two separate pots I melted both kinds, when the chocolate is completely melted it was easy peasy.

All required is then to scoop the chocolate into the molds. Half I did white chocolate first then dark chocolate. The other half was done the opposite way. Then slightly bang on counter to even out and release any air bubbles that may be in there. Chill in fridge or freezer!

That is all there is to making homemade chocolates. If you want to make it fancier you can add nuts, sprinkles or even edible glitter sprinkles. The choices are truly endless.
Once you got your chocolate base it’s all fun from there.
What do you think?
Have you made your own chocolates, how do you do yours?

Till next blog have a great chocolate filled day!
Cause everyday is acceptable for chocolate😁😂!

What they will shape as!

That is all there is to it!

Blast From The Past!😎

Ever wonder where the time goes? Think if I could go back to then? I had a blast from the past this weekend, and it was fun!

Hi good morning and welcome to Its A Mom Life. This weekend was sure fun, the things that happened with only having the two little ones was a memory one.
I say it like this because my last 2 kids are the same age difference as my 2 oldest ones.

Saturday not only was everyone sleeping including me till 7:30 it was such a nice pace morning. Heading out around noon for a drive, we found ourselves an adventure! Meeting up with some friends and meeting new lead us to a drive in an army truck! Heading home at 5 with supper planned already from the morning it was not on schedule but with little ones it’s ok! Heading into supper time, plans change yet again.
For the better I think as we decide on left overs and just roll supper over to the next night. Since there is only little kids we got to kinda choose when to do Easter, so we will prep for it Sunday night instead. With supper in the bellies the kids got their baths, I got the house cleaned as masyn played. Waking up to a clean house is a wonderful thing, addicting even I think.

So what will Sunday have in store for us to do before we do Easter stuff? Oh the ideas go on.

Sunday turned into such a productive day, chores done I had an opportunity to do extra, and I took it lol. As they were happy in the morning hanging out I quickly made some chocolates and chocolate covered strawberries, I will be uploading a post about this and how I made them! Lots got accomplished would you believe both kids napped not only at the same time but for almost 3 hours.😨 getting  a bunch of sorting done with the kid clothes this endless task is getting close to the end. Each size is categorized and stored in vaccuum seal bags,in these blue tubs! I will absolutely be sharing this when it is completely said and done. With supper just rolled over from the night before, it was all a sinch getting the evening rolling. Everyone got to hang outside for a bit and get some fresh air, I even got some work done in the camper. Just a little but every little bit counts yes? Garbage out and what is stored in there for summer put away. It was a good start to it all. With supper done, baths and cleaning taken care of.
It was a awesome day, with so much getting done. With kids asleep I got to just hang out with the hubby, not needing to do a workout, as Sunday is my rest day we just chilled and got the Easter stuff done.

Yap that was my Easter weekend with only the 2 little ones.
How was your Easter weekend?

House Is Ready!💪👌👏

Hello and hoppy soon Easter! Welcome to this in the week life blog. I am excited to share my week, it was productive this round. Hopefully it will give you some motivation for some spring break cleaning! Make sure to follow for updates on more motivating cleaning coming as spring is here!

After a great Sunday Prep Day, everything was set up for a great week, and it really was.

Monday was filled with house work. Getting laundry done… yet again! House wiped down and floors cleaned, I was ready to move on.
Monday is when I started tacking the van! With four kids it’s always full of crumbs and grossness. I set out to at least get it vacuumed, and I did, it didn’t get wiped out, but a good vacuum. That task that takes forever is a little easier with our van I can fold down all the seats, making it easier to vacuum.
However it makes it longer as there is so much room under the seats when they are put up. So easier yes but more corners.
But, it got done 👌💪I got it out of the way as for the house it will get completely cleaned at the end of the week when two kid’s are leaving!

Tuesday consisted of sorting baby toys and more kid clothes that are being gathered from all corners, washed and sorted as the boys as they keep growing.
Poor kids with having an older brother then two boys, they will never need new clothes! 😂🤣 with going back on track I have more motivation to get the little bit finished in the shed and garage.
Then to finish strong in organizing the basement. This is a task for the break when I have a couple less kids here lol.
Getting Easter stuff ready look for my Easter blog to see what the kid’s got this year! The two oldest ones are going for the week 😁 so getting them packed was done.

Wednesday… hump day! I find my motivation to be more slow if I don’t push myself a little extra. However if I can push through it tends to be a good day. With kids having activities and the hubby at a physio appointment, supper would be late as it always was Wednesday’s, it can help some nights tho.
Deciding on pulling stuff from the freezer I made a Shepards pie, as I had a bag of frozen mashed potatoes that needed to be used up!
There is usually left overs so supper Thursday was covered then.
As far as tasks went Wednesday it was more finishing up my tasks as the ending to them was to close to stop.

Thursday we ended up heading to an appointment for masyn’s fluoride treatment just in the town over from us.
Got bills paid 😣 always a love hate task there.
Then just cleaned the house up and finished packing the kids bags.

Friday rolling in, it was a great morning! The baby who is now 3 months old slept almost 11 hours straight 😇 the 2 older kid’s got up and didn’t start to instantly fight, and masyn the toddler slept in and woke up sooooo freaking content. Yap picture perfect morning I tell ya!
So I made a double batch of pancake batter I had a plan. This plan did not work out for me!
I was going to use cookie cutters to make Easter pancakes however it just sticks in the cutters so plan B it was.
I just wrote out hoppy Easter in pancakes and called it good enough!🙄 Tooth brushes packed and vitamins, hair brush the last of it.
Grandparents come, we had a awesome visit, masyn loved playing outside with grandpa, and Dawson the baby got to hang out and nap in a rocker I pulled from the shed.
With there only being 2 little ones here it’s quiet and different.
I hope everyone had a great week.
Did you get lots done?
Ready for Easter?
Watch for some fun little kid Easter posts, there will be more on Instagram under @kandisblask and on Facebook Kandis Blask. Hope everyone has a great Easter. Till next blog have a good day!😁

Easter Is Coming! Baskets under $20 each!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Its A Mom Life. This is a funner blog, as it’s about candy!! Well ok it’s about the kids Easter baskets, but still candy lol.

I had set out this year that they don’t need much junk food 😂. Then like a kid in a candy store I went into bulk barn and got more candy then I thought.
Do you have this problem that couple scoops really don’t look like much in the bag?
I also hit the dollar tree, for so much fun non candy stuff.

This year is different as my 2 older kid’s are not home this year for Easter. They are heading to their grandparents, so I still ended up getting stuff. I thought it would be a cute idea to have some Easter surprises on their pillows for when they got home. Of coarse I had to send something as I’m just that type of mom.

So what to send what to keep at home. I found these adorable egg containers at the dollar tree and used them to put the candy in. This is what is being sent cause you send the candy and keep the no sugar activities for home haha!

There is one for my daughter and one for my oldest son more full of candy then planned but filled and ready to go. Then they have the other pile of coloring stuff, and one fun thing for each with a couple things for candy, not like the jumbo candy filled eggs. Lol dang bulk barn I tell you!😂😮

So where to start, I layed everything out, and sorted it to what is what. Candy one place, toys the other.
The egg containers and then my toddlers basket.
As for the baby he just got a teddy bear, but what do you get a 3 month old for Easter?

So Masyn my two year old got a bag of candy as I just put all his together in a bag for his basket. I am not using any basket grass with him, as he EATS EVERYRHING! He did get stickers, coloring books, beach ball, bubble blower, an apron and just some fun little kid stuff.

The older kid’s eggs got filled then bagged, to go. They have a color wonder book, a chicken that lays gum balls, a sucker, 4 pezz each and then my daughter got a beautiful fan and my son got a new pair of sunglasses. These will be for on their pillow.

I also bought white and dark chocolate squares, to make some fun chocolate, I will show if I end up getting them done! That about wrappes up the Easter haul for this house.
How did you do on Easter stuff?
Did you make items or buy them? Staying home or travelling?
Let me know in the comments down below all about your plans for this Easter.
Hope you have a great one, make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button for notifications on blogs, also follow at Facebook and Instagram under @kandisblask and Kandis Blask for more day to day Easter fun.
Till next post have a hoppy good weekend!

Everything for Easter!

Dollar tree eggs with candy to go and a pack of stickers
Basket with candy and books, stickers all fun for the toddler!

Now That’s A Good Day! 🤗

Do you have a prep day? A day to just reset, gather and prepare for your next week! Get some tasks out of the way, so its ready for the week.
Do you catch up on laundry, do the house cleaning, get you clothes out for the week, maybe make lunches for work, or kids school?
The list goes on for what one might prep for the upcoming week.
What do you aim for? What day is you reset or prep day?

Hi I’m Kandis and welcome to Its A Mom.
If your new go ahead and hit that follow button to join the fun and conversations here, for ways to make it through that shift or season of life that you are in.
If your a follower welcome back.

I always find dredded Mondays to be a little easier when I got my prep done. My day to reset and prepare is Sundays, we have no activities usually and this can make so much more time in the week.
Between activities and school, lunches to pack, reading and little ones, who has time in this season of life to get it done eveynight.
When is your prep day? Weekend or a say off?

When we prep for the week it’s usually the same routine. Get all the laundry gathered and taken down, and sorted. If there is any extra laundry that has to be done for Monday it goes in.
Sundays I also sit down and work in my planner, not only do I set up and design my planner, I look over that activities are when and what time for the week. This helps as we are now starting new after school activities. I write out my to do list for the week sometimes half the week with how my planner is set up but not always.
Kids get their clothes picked out for the week, and homework is caught up and school papers are signed, looked over and packed.
I take this day to prep all their snacks for their lunches. This way its ready to pack into containers each day. This guarantee’s healthy snacks.
They just need to make their sandwich each night!

Needless to say Sundays are a important day for this house!
What does your prep day or reset day look like, when do you do it?
Let me know in the comments down below.
Until next blog happy prepping, remember a little can go a long way!❤

Snacks for there lunches

Love my planner time good for the mind and soul lol

Guess they need socks for the week.. So many SOCKS!!

Thank Goodness Its The Weekend

Hello and good morning welcome to Its A Mom Life.
If your new go ahead and hit that follow button to join the fun and get notification of any new blogs.

This month sure is just being a wonky one. With it being half over already all I think is where did my days go?
I had set  out Monday with goals, and I was determined to do so. The last couple days I tried as much as I could to get some of the annoying tasks done. And you know what I actually got more done this week then I thought.
Sitting back and looking at the lines threw my to do list, I’m happy. That’s what counts right?
The last three days were busy. I ended up getting:

  • my floors handwashed,
  • laundry caught up once lol 🤷‍♀️
  • stuff out of the house and into storage,
  • my van partly cleaned out,
  • bedding washed
  • Clothes for the toddler sorted and put away
  • And stayed up on my basic everyday cleaning.
  • With that was so much paper work that got filled out and faxed away!
  • There is always Laundry!
    It’s only socks! 😩
Toddler clothes for now and next size up which I keep in his bedroom 😁

Floors needed a good mama scrub ❤

Yap I’ll give myself a pat on the back. This week turned into a pretty productive week.
    How did yours turn out?
I even made a special lunch date for hubby and I today.
    Steak and baked potato😍
I will be sharing a post on how I did a wonderful sheet pan steak! Another big game changer for cooking I feel anyways lol!

We also got out for a drive Wednesday, hubby had a appointment in the city Thursday, and i had an evening meeting.
    Lots happened this week.

With all of that I feel better going into the weekend, and I’ll tell you why!
The family was supposed to be gone for basketball tournaments both days this weekend.
Instead the hubby is taking the kid that is playing, while the other is staying here with me and the little ones.

I have mama guilt on this, however knowing I don’t need to manage 3 kid’s at a game, but get more stuff done is ok too in my mind.

Make sure you are following so you can catch the blog about the weekend!
I aim to get more chopped off the list as I hopefully will have a little more time then.

I hope you had a great week. I am excited for the upcoming blogs, hopefully filled with baking and Easter fun!

Let me know in the comments down below what are you doing for Easter?
    Travelling or staying at home?
I look forward to talking soon with so much fun topics.
    Until next blog!

    Getting Back To Normal 😂

Hello and good morning welcome to Its A Mom Life, if you’re new make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button so you don’t miss any fun here on the blog. Welcome back if you’re a follower this was a busy week.
Do you ever wonder sometimes just why you have your list’s or routines? This week everything went wonky, as I had said in the last blog.
The routines were not happening, I was doing the kids chores just to make sure it got done a little better, my list just kept growing, and not much was getting crossed off! All part of a busy mom schedule but still annoying.

When Sunday was here and we were doing the prep for the week, I had decided I needed to prep me also, lol so I didn’t over clean and I took a nap!😮
Now you see I sometimes will feel bad about this, as like I said my whole week was a flop. But, when mama isn’t on her game lots of balls tend to drop!
Happen to you? If your not on your game things just get hard, so yap I rested and when I got up and shook off the oh boy I could of had so much more done feeling, it was good.
I ended up getting more done after probably more then if I stayed up! With getting the kids lunches prepped, supper done early and house at least picked up, I managed to get my f4idge wiped out, it is a good way to start a fresh week!
So yes my week was better, not slower actually busier then others, but I just felt it was ok and I could handle it. With this mind set I hopped into Monday.

Monday is going to be a good start day, I have to tell myself this stuff as I’m a big believer in mind over matter! Monday, what can I say about Monday, other then it turned into a crazy day again!
I definitely got a good start to everything, as I wanted to.
However I had quickly learned that plans were yet again to change, I had found out that my daughter had an away game not far but still far enough.
With racking my brain on how to get everyone there and back as my son had his martial arts that evening I had it worked out in my head.
Then as after school was approaching it yet again changed.
My husband offered to keep the two boys here, one was still sleeping when I left after school, and with the older one waiting to go to class, he was here to help with the little one. Hubby can’t do to much as he has a cast on.
Please note I’m still getting used to him here to help with the kid’s, it was usually where mommy went the kids went. I am trying to accept help and rather enjoying it I must admit lol.
Long story short, everyone made it to and from where they needed to go.
With a super fast macaroni and hotdog supper for the kid’s as martial arts don’t end till 6:30, it gets to be late and fast.
It helped making sure the house was picked up the night before to.
So Monday was a fast paste good day, with not as much off my to do list done. Just basics still helps keep things moving here.
I got some laundry washed and folded. Laundry everyday here, on going task.
I did also manage to get all our winter stuff packed up, and yes totally forgot to get pictures again but, I stored them in vacuum seal bags which are perfect for bulky stuff. I will also point out they are from the dollar tree, so for a $1.25 they are perfect in my mind.

As Monday rolled into Tuesday, it was another busy day away from home.
Running to the city for a grocery pick up, which also a huge game changer.
    Have you tried grocery pickup?
What do you think about it?
I love it, as I don’t have to haul kids in and out and worry about so much.
Supper was in the slow cooker… check out my Facebook page Kandis Blask for more on the supper, we had parent teacher conferences and the slow cooker was a life saver that night.
The only thing I really managed to get done on my list was the winter stuff out and into storage(not even put away out there just out of the house). Needless to say it was a good, busy day, not really productive but remember progress not perfection.
Oh I did get my socks organized haha. Yes I was so excited about it.😂

With the next couple days a little more quiet I’m hoping to do more, motivate myself and hopefully you also to just keep rolling.
I will end here as I’m getting ready for another day tomorrow, I’m also working on my next blog also.
Stay tuned for what is happening for the rest of the week. With new changes….. again for the weekend, it should all be great.
I look forward on bringing you along as I aim to help with that spring motivation we all are looking for lol. 😉
Till next blog have a great day and remember every little bit helps even if it does not feel like it now!

    Kids lunches prepped
    Slow cooker supper
Best friend the laundry… kids clothes lol
Fridge got a well deserved wipe down

    Well That Was Easy!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Its A Mom Life.
Today’s is Tuesday and just such a busy one at that. Today in thought I would share my supper with you! It’s a busy evening again here in the Blask house.
With there being basketball practice and parent teacher conferences before supper, I thought why not run to the city also this morning to get a couple things for Easter, and do a quick grocery pickup! Have you tried grocery pickup? It truly is a game changer I think.
With all this happening all before 5 pm, there isn’t much time for much in between. So when in doubt bring the slow cooker out! I thought I would do up that red pork tenderloin that in had shared before, but we are going to try it in the slow cooker. This way I also have a supper plan for tomorrow also, they are going to have pull porked sandwiches.❤
    With this recipe you need:

    • pork tenderloin
    • 1/4 cup soya sauce
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, cloves, ginger and garlic powder

mix together in a bowl pour on the tenderloin and let sit about 30 minutes.
Usually I would do this is the oven but I’m going to try this way. I have a blog about how to do it in the oven you can head over too,if you want to cook it in the oven.
Got a good slow cooker recipe let me know if you do I would love to hear them!
With this supper I am going to try to get potatoes peeled then it will be served mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. However we will see how time works for me, if not it will be rice instead, and call it good.
I’m in the process of getting my next blog out, and house prepped now for Easter. I’ll be showing you what I am doing this year, also on an upcoming blog.
There is only the young ones here with us this year, it’s sure to be a cute time.
Got some Easter requests let me know what you would love to see, learn, or try to make.
Also make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button for all the upcoming it’s sure to get fun around here with spring and summer.
