Look For The Silver Lining!

When A door closes a window will open!

There Is a silver lining in ever dark cloud!

There is supposed to be a positive with every negative!

It can be hard to seen with everything going on around the world!

The after effects of everything will be another factor into the look for the silver lining I think!

How are you doing through all the covid-19 craziness?

Do you know work from home?

What are you doing for Easter weekend?

With being at home now, and limited access to Easter stuff I better think of something! I have 4 kids, ages 11,9,3 and 1, so the variety of goodies can be a challenge. I always procrastinate and I did it again. I’ll post on my social media pages on what I put together!

As the days are turning into weeks, and months of covid-19!

There is so much still happening, but it’s in our homes, with our family. Not at work with our work family, then home to our family.

Everywhere I go I hear ” I’m so bored at home, all I have is time!”

This is not the case for me! I don’t know if I’m not doing something right? Cause I am more busy now then I was before lol.

Let’s find the silver lining?

Yes!

I am more busy, there is 4 kids and a husband here I will point out. Now the funny thing is it’s just the older kid’s not in school that is different right now! Home lessons are not a problem, I had stuff on hand and with working with, my kids for years with doing some work at home, as I am the mom that will keep up light schooling on holidays and through the summer months.

The younger ones are home anyways these days, I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old.

Our routines have stayed somewhat the same! I think this is something that is making my ancy. I had not got my routines as smooth as I would like. We had some crazy changes I our lives in 2019, and then we get handed 2020.

My routines are out and like a roller coaster, making it hard for me to get my head in a smooth routine.

Silver Lining here is there is always room to improve.

Why not try to figure out routines that will work for everyone. To help with this I made up a quick little hourly layout. Every morning when I sit down with my planner I am trying to get an outline on the day.

My planner! A happy planner, classic size!

This way if anyone is a deer stuck in a headlight they can look at the hourly and see what we are trying to get done that hour.

Quick hourly layout after my planner but still with coffee!

Something I should point about myself is I try to take on everything! “I can do it all,” is what I say. However I can’t do it all, then I just get upset with myself, which is silly as I know I can’t do it all, so why do I keep trying to do it all?

This week I wanted to start my workouts again! Good for me right! Well I feel this is where I will point out, that there is at least one kid up usually a little one by 6:30am. I don’t get everyone in bed till at least 9:30 pm. This has made it oh so hard.

With still having my morning, noon and evening in place, there is really no place for a workout. It is not fun trying to work out with little kids. It’s just not,  especially when you are trying to get your grrr out from then day, have a couple thoughts, maybe class it as me time! Not easy when a kid is climbing on me, playing with my weights etc.

So how to get the silver lining. I just thought I would get up a little early and have some me time, do a workout and then have the kids ups!! Thunderstorm came in, I was getting up at 5:30ish and trying to get my workout in by 6 to be done for 630! Nope, sure not working, some days just getting up, and motivated that early and fast, I couldnt fully focus as I am on a time line, if I slept in I was instantly hit with anxeity cause now my morning is out.

So look at it in a different light. I’m going to try a quick 10 minute workout, at some point of the day, it’s only 10 minutes which is easier to put in to start!

The other night I decided I need to be happier and we deserve better memories through this world pandemic!

I have decided on a new routine for us! With my planner and an hourly layout, there is sliver linings to all the obstacles.

My main planner❤kids school planner and an hourly layout

I am more focused now then ever to get everyone a smooth system, there is lots of together time and emotions can come quicker then normal. A good routine I’m hoping will make everyone calmer.

I had also decided the other night I’m not trying to do it all! I need to shake it off and get everyone taken care of before the “extras” come in! These “extras” are the ” I can do everything.” I want to have good family memories from this, not mad, difficult times!

This has been my wall paper for years on my computer!

How are you doing with the new life style we are in right now?

Making A Difference!

Do you ever make goals!

Some so small they’re silly, some so big they’re silly!

Sitting in the house, making dream list’s, fun monthly goals, 10 year plans! The different thoughts of doing more.

They all come and go, in and out, some goals will stay as the coffee rebalances the day, the cranky kids are napping. The calm is there and I sit down and think how silly to think I can take more on or need more at that matter.

The youngest is at home for years still. The vision of being out of the house tends to fade when I do get out, society is not the same, as it was when I a teen and liked going out lol. Also way before the covid-19 came around!

So when people tell me just do what makes you happy, all I can do is smile and think I am, plus more of what I love.

What will I be doing when all the kids are in school, moving out, getting all grown up and stuff. As the years come and go, I have been a stay at home mom for 11 years already, some days it seems like that long, some days it seems not as long! As I had always wanted to be a stay at home mom, the realization of wanting to make a difference, help out with some things I can and love to do, everything just slowly is falling into place!

What goals am I chasing, and hoping to line in place?

When thoughts on what I could do at home, without taking me away or making me over crazy, I took on baking from my house.

This is something I love doing.

Over 10 years I have been making my own breads, pasta, meals, freezer meals, desserts and canned goods! Why not share the yumminess and expand learning more and more!

CANNED PEACHES!
Bread Dough Raising 😍

A couple years ago I decided to take the jump on cleaning and organizing.

This was my next passion, I love doing this, with helping people with their days, budgets, pantry and more. I point out that organizing is so much more then shoes and fridges!

My Organizing Certificate! I Add Also A Cleaning Expert!

I then thought as I had my last baby, I needed some communication in my life!

Through YouTube channels that I had fallen in love with I thought I would start a blog. This is still in the works as I’m growing and learning, with the help of others along the way.

I’m now starting one more journey, that started I in the beginning of March!

Had fun Working So Far In the training!
Being Part Of A Team! My Own Boss!

This one is through Monat! I wanted to have access to healthy products, and possibly make a couple bucks on the side! With the toxic free no added grossness as I say, I thought it would be a great adventure! I also get to work with my friend who had set me up!

The big picture for me here is that I have it all under a name (other then my monat), I got to stem from my first farmers market with my baking and a construction poster that read “Classy Classics By Kandis A pinch of grandma’s secret ingredient in every batch.”

What My business Sign Has Became Through The Hard Work!

With the different chapters I am excited for what it can and may become through the years with hard work still to come!

These are little goals sticking together to make a big dream!

What is your dreams/goals that you are following!

Has the crazy 2020 made it smaller, or just made you more determined?

Can you work with what is happening to make your dream still come?

We all need someone, and someone will need you!

I hope you liked this blog, make sure to hit the like button so I know to do more! As always don’t forget to hit that follow button to get noticed on new blogs and join in the talks!

What I Am Doing!

March 20 2020, this was a day that will be hard to forget!

This was the day I got got informed to prepped my kids to come home from school! Caronavirus is getting strong, it’s getting close! With worldwide shut downs, school boards saying take a education week off, and the government telling us to stay home!

I along with millions of others didn’t and still don’t know what is in store for the weeks, even months coming!

How as a mom of 4 and a wife supposed to just handle it all? I am a stay at home mom, so there is most definitely different factors for me as many others!

How did I prep for the craziness!

THE FIRST WEEK!

Tuesday we went to our local grocery store, which is now getting slimmer for the pickens, all already! I headed to the school, to get the kids binders from their classrooms. I actually grabbed all work books, as our school elementary keeps their workbooks together in the rooms. So heading in I talked to  teachers who are waiting and wondering just as much as the parents. “This week we disinfect, Monday we start classes at home” I stated. As we head home with with both kids with us, and had a discussion Monday night on some issues to expect, we get ready to bunker in!

Everyone in our house a house of 6 is good. Then the little ones get colds!

Wednesday through Saturday we set out and cleaned!

Extra cleaning time in the kitchen! Keeping it wiped down as much as I can!

When I say that I cleaned I mean I took on extra… like i always seem to do, I disinfected the house along with my spring cleaning and organizing. This seemed to be the hardest almost 4 days ever, but all I could tell myself is ” it’s ok it’s another task that will be done.”

Deep cleaning the pantry while doing an inventory!

WEEK 2 IN THE MAKING

As Monday came rolling in, home classes started! We are still working on how it will work the smoothest in our house, however for at least the first week of learning we have some stuff in place.. for now lol.

Here is what we do!

In the morning we start with making our bed, getting dressed, teeth, hair… haha normal stuff.

We are working thought some learning books that I got years ago, and love them! They are “EXPLORE AND LEARNING”, there is a set of 6, these can be taught together or individually and covers lots of topics. The first one we are using is Earth and Space! I thought it would be a fun way to start home classes! We are hoping to start a volcano as one of the pages studies all about volcano’s with a craft to do one!

Great Learning Books!

We then do some math! I have limited worksheets, so we are working with what was in their books, I made some multiplying flash cards, other then those the kids are using a program through their school called mathletics! This is a great site as it uses what they are learning in class for their grade!

Worksheets from their books with flashcards I made!

Then we have a snack, or lunch depending on when we start and finish!

The kids will usually take the toddler out for a bit after lunch or they hang out quietly as I get the baby down for a nap, or some cleaning done or both!

How are you fitting in the school work, house work, and everything between?

After play time, and some outside chores, we come in!

In the afternoon we keep it easy, we are doing a novel study together here. I am excited for this one…. we are reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This is helping with listening skills, as I found some chapter questions online for elementary. They enjoy listening to the story!

Great survival book!

We are trying to keep up with reading, this is neither one of my kid’s favorite thing to do. My daughter is more into it, as long as she can read her own book, in her head! Which is fine but boy is she a fast trader some days lol!🤣🤦‍♀️ My son has a program he used at school a bit which he enjoys, plus makes it easier on me until I find something else to mix in. He is using readingeggs.com, this was set up in the school, along with another site he has but we where not stated or looked into yet! I do hope next week we can try!

One more thing that the kids are working on is their writing! Not everyday however, a couple times a week we will pick a topic for them to write about! Example… they wrote about plans for summer, school at home, the caronavirus and what we know and want to know!

I’m am trying to not make it hard, or over boring haha!

This is the learning curve we are working on this week!

I am finding ways to balance the kids, learning, cleaning, laundry, meals! My planner is being changed up a bit, to help sort everything out lol. With everything happening I am grateful to have my family all under one roof!

Loving My Planner!

Waiting to hear something week to week, this was a interesting couple weeks!

A reason of why my blog is so incredibly late! I had to be here 100% for my family as we got sittled in!

How has your time went?

Are you home, working?

How are you balancing everything?

I hope you enjoyed the look into my house this last couple weeks, with everyone here, learning and playing! Make sure you like the blog so I can do more like this one! Home Products I Love!

With the month of March here, with the eco friendly month I thought what better time then now.

When Sunday had come and go, we were doing our prep and stock in the house. I realized how much I love to make some of my products that I don’t think about anymore and just make.

Do You make cleaners or products?

These are great for so many different reasons.

They are better for the environment, our bodies and best of all the wallet.

How much the products cost to buy vs to make!

This alone makes it easier for me to want to make them.

I have been making these for years now with no thought or intention to buying them again.

The first product is all purpose cleaner! I can use this EVERYWHERE from counters, windows, walls, toilets to sticky spills, and messes from the children.

This sanatizes, cuts grease and cleans with only costing pennies.

Ready?

In a spray bottle mix vinegar and water! If you want add some essential oils to make it smell and bam your ready to clean!

All purpose cleaner!

If you have babies in diapers then you will know how much wipes cost! I am here to say there is a way cheaper and healthier to use.

Take selet a size paper towel, cut it in half! In a bowl combine 3 tablespoons of melted coconut oil, 2 tablespoons of baby wash and about 1 1/2 – 2 cups hot water? Soak paper towel in the water mixture.

Wring out and if you would like unwrap in an accordion motion.Place in a zip-lock or air tight container, these are great, and will still work even if get forgot about and freezes in the car lol.

Baby Wipes with NO ALCOHOL

Another product that I have been making for a long time now is fabric softener! This is so easy and will save a ton.

Take an old fabric softener jug you will need:

  • 2 cups conditioner (any kind),
  • 3 cups of white vinegar, then
  • 6 cups of warm water.

Add all together then shake jug.

FABRIC SOFTENER for pennies!

Another product I want you too know about is my makeup remover face wipes. These are used with the same solution as the baby wipes. The only difference is less water!

Take about a cup of warm water with 1 tablespoon of baby wash and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Soak paper towel and slightly wring out!

I am in love with these makeup remover wipes, my face feels clean, with no tighness of hidden chemicals in the store bought. I have no intentions on going back to buying these!

MAKEUP REMOVER leaving your face feeling clean!

Next product my laundry detergent, I have been making for a long time now! This uses:

  • boarx
  • baking soda
  • arm and hammer laundry soap
  • oxy
  • sunlight bars (grated)
  • unstoppable beads
LAUNDRY DETERGENT LAST SO MUCH LONGER AND COSTS MUCH LESS!

How about homemade fabreeze, the kids don’t like the “real” product anymore lol, so to make this:

Take an old bottle or a spray bottle, mix baking soda, with essential oils with water shake before each use!

FABREEZE change the sent added help with the baking soda!

These products I have been making now for years! They have added so much “cleanness” in my house, added dollars to the bank account!

Do you make products?

What kind do you make?

These are just some of the products that we make in our house, I love making my own stuff, it’s nice knowing what is in them, and knowing how much I save is just as sweet as the frosting on a cake!

I would like to take this time to say these products are in detail with pictures in my other blogs.

Head over and have a read, or you can write me with any questions or comments on these!

Go To Cake Recipes!

Birthdays, holidays, class treats, after school activities, weekend parties!

These are some reasons I love my go to cake/cupcake recipe. Chocolate, vanilla or marble always great choices.

When something comes up there isn’t always time to find a recipie, then wonder if it’s right?

Will it be ok?

Is it the right thing?

In this house if a emergency goodie day comes up I usually have it under control.

If I’m not whipping up a batch of cookies you betcha I’m going to one of these recipes!

As a mom of 4 and 2 of them in school days come up that I need to get something together quick.

I am not down the street from a store and that’s not my style lol. These batters are great for fast cupcakes or a cake! I have a chocolate batter also a vanilla batter!

Let’s start with the fudge chocolate cause yes please it’s chocolate! This is a great one, I have been going to it for years now!

The stains on the page show it!

  • 1 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup COCOA powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Heat oven to 350°

Grease pan using either 13x9x2, 2 round pans, or 2 bundt cake pans.

Beat all ingredients together on low making sure to scrap the sides of the bowl, do this for about 30 seconds, then mix on high till mixed well.

Bake until wooden pick comes out clean. 35-40 minutes for oblong, 30-35 minutes for round, and 40-45 minutes for bundt cake, 20 minutes for cupcakes. Let completely cool then frost.

Then let’s do the vanilla! This is a denser cake, I find anyways. With it just as easy as the chocolate you still can’t go wrong. One thing I love about going to a vanilla cake is that you can the the cake to any color you need! The vanilla cake is called ” silver white cake”.

Let’s see what and how to make this go to vanilla cake.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 egg whites

Heat oven to 350°

Grease pan

Beat flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, milk and vanilla extract. Mix on low scrapping the sides for about 30 seconds. Beat on high still scraping the bowl till mixed. Pour into pan/s.

Bake until wooden pick comes out clean. Oblong 35-40 minutes, 30-35 minutes for round or 20 minutes for cupcakes. Let completely cool then frost.

There you have to!

These are the two go to batters I go to whether for cakes, cupcakes or both.

I hope you enjoyed this blog. Hit the like button so I know to do more blogs like this one.

Valentine’s Fun!

There must me something about the red’s and pink’s!

Hearts everywhere, gaining weight off the chocolate! Slowing down to smell the flowers!

In our house it’s extra special as my first born, my only daughter was born on Valentine’s day 11 years ago. Yap my daughter turned 11 this year.😣

Valentine’s day is always fun, with treats and cheesy sayings it’s just a fun holiday.

Every holiday I send teacher gifts, and valentines day is no different. Do you send teacher gifts or treats to the classroom?

This year a little less but with just as much love and thought. That’s what makes the gift any ways is it not?

With being on a little more tight budget I’ll show you what we did this year, I will also, point out it was done for roughly $5 a person. As usual I hit up a dollor store and set out.

Dollar Store Haul! I love dollar stores! ❤

This year I purchased a

  • Valentine’s Box
  • Notebook
  • Candies
  • Cupcake liners

I then made mini cupcakes and found some unused pencils in the house.

Teacher gifts in the making!

The turn out was adorable.

For the classrooms we bought valentine cards ( which we usually make), we also of coarse also treats. Lots of cupcakes went into the over in a day, but they are so cute.

We made heart emoji cupcakes for my son’s class, and a cupcake cake for my daughter’s class. I had also made a cake for her birthday.

Where to start with all the Valentine’s day fun!

Let’s start with the teacher gifts. In the box there is some conversation heart candies, a couple chocolates and a pack of sweethearts!

Then I placed 6 mini cupcakes on top! The boxes came with a plastic wrap, so just put the notebook under the goodies box with a pencil on the side, got the toddler to help tie them up and BOOM, awesome teacher gifts for $5. The bus driver got the same, but in a cute pink heart tin and no notebook!

All for roughly $5.00!

How to make the treats?

Let’s start with the emoji cupcakes.

Bake and cool the cupcakes, with yellow icing for the face, I used conversation hearts for the eyes, then drew on a smile!

Yes, really that simple for little time.

Heart Emoji Cupcakes!

The cupcake cake in the shape of a heart was just as quick and easy.

With cupcakes baked and cooled, place them on a pan in a shape of the heart! Take your icing, tink it pink or red….. of coarse, with a knife ice the cake!

I start at the outside and work inward!

That’s really as there was, it all turned out better then I thought, and most importantly the kids loved them!

These are done for very little, but will send the love threw the air!

Heart Cupcake Cake!

What did you get for Valentine’s day?

Do you go all out?

Send goodies?

Make or buy cards?

Weekly prep

Prep some now to save time later!

Sunday!

That’s the day I use! The day of rest is my day to set up! One day out of the week, I use to see how much in can prep to make a smooth week!

There is always so much going on in the week!

Kids have school, hubby is on the road, kids have activities! 😥

Then there is still meals, laundry, homework, and never ending cleaning!

How as a mom, are we too do it all! 24 hours 7 days a week, there is always something to do.

“Take time for yourself, do what makes you happy”!

How?

There is so much on the go, with no finish line.

How to get that 5 minutes let alone 30 minutes for a rest?

This is where my weekly reset or prep day come in very nice. One day, I will just try! Hit the ground running and do it.

What do I do in that one day that makes a difference for at least Monday to Friday?

I will let you in on some task that I find really help set me up for a smoother week.

Sundays roll around and it’s becoming a habit, which is nice! It didn’t come over night, and I fell out of it fast, with a hard climb back up to it, with lots of room for improvement. However progress not protection I guess, right?

Sundays are always a nice chill at day anyways so why not set up the week. With this I mean tasks that will just give me those couple minutes through the week.

So let’s go through this day, shall we!

I always try to get the kids snacks ready for the week. Fruit and vegetables washed, and chopped, in a container to the fridge for easy access. Bread gets sliced as I make our bread! Sandwich stuff gets prepped like cheese sliced, lettuse washed and bag ect.

Carrot sticks, tossed salad and peppers this week!

Treats being made this day for the week, if there is time to make one. Not every week this one gets done!

I will get the floors done if they didn’t get done Saturday (which they usually don’t). This will be sweeping or vaccuming the main floor, and mopping with the mop and pail. I do this so throught out the week I can use my spray push mop.

Being able to use the speay mop throughout the week is great!

Kids backpacks get ready making sure all papers are looked over and back in.

Sundays are dump day, so all garbage gets gathered and out the door.

Everyone has a shower or bath to get ready for school, I am working on bathing the little ones on Mondays now tho.

Meal planning for the weeks gets at least started if not all figured and written out.

Getting back into meal planning one week at a time!

I will try to pull some of the meat out and onto a cookie sheet into the fridge so it can be unthawing at a slow speed.

As I am trying to get back into my workouts Sundays use to be and hopefully back to stretch day!

I try to get the kid’s to bed a little earlier as Mondays are hard lol. I will also try to make sure my evening routine is done that night, there is something about waking up to a fairly tidy house, and clean kitchen that is addicting! Especially on a monday morning!

Not perfect but still nice!

I aim to have this my night if not done already to sit down and set up my planner for the following week! A well planned and prepped week can make a big difference for myself!

I am loving the Febuary love, fun pretty look! 😍

What about you?

How do you set your week up?

One day?

Each night?

Do you prep for days, or day to day?

Let me know how you aim to make your week smoother?

I always try to do something the night before, that I will thank myself for the next day!

Sundays keep staying busy, with all 4 kiddos need to stuff prepped and gathered! This can eat up most of the evening, especially if mama is planning a shower as there needs enough time for me too have hot water, but not be at midnight lol!

Well, that about sums up how my Sunday’s go.

Do you prep form the week?

What day works for you?

Let’s get the ideas going, if we can safe 5 minutes, it’s worth it all!

Till next week have a great day, productive week and an amazing set up!

Declutter By Being G.R.E.A.T

Its coming along!

Have you ever got so excited about something, you don’t know how to exactly go with it!

How to present it!

How to bring it together!

This is a goal I had for a bit! I am excited to share this blog it’s to do with organizing!

where there is a dream there is a way!

As I am slowly gathering all sorts of different topics, ideas and goals for being a organizer and so I started with creating a organizing word!

This word is to help set the stages when it come to organizing and decluttering. To help keep it that way, make it seem less!

The word is G.R.E.A.T!

I picked this word because organizing can do great thing’s for one!

So just remeber “declutter by being great”! So what does this mean?

Well let’s go through it shall we!

I will start with what each letter stands for, then I will go into greater detail!

Start at G for garbage R for remove E is for eliminating A assign T is for together!

Now, let’s talk about each.

  • G for garbage this is what it sounds like, get ride of the garbage that is right there. Most of the procrastination is being over whelmed, but over 50% of the clutter is usually garbage! Grab a garbage bag and go around the room, I bet you will get more then you thought!
  • R remove, you need to remove every thing from the space you are working with. Gather it together, and out to see what’s actually there.
  • E eliminate the clutter, purge what you are not using or not loving any more. If it’s not for you anymore it’s ok, time to let go and make room!
  • A assign, the items that you are keeping need a home, so take this time to get a home for the stuff, or put it into the room it’s needing to be in.
  • Then T is for together, get your box or bins, add a label and keep the things together, this will help keeping items together and prevent the area from getting out of hand.

That is how you can become organized by being “G.R.E.A.T”!

I hope this will help motivate you and help you in getting started!

What do you think, can you remember the steps outlined.

I bet you can organize more then you would think with this simple word!

Planning Is Preparing

Good morning It’s Monday!

This is what my planner is telling me that is!

I always say I know my days of the week, but to know what day it is, is another question!

Through the years as life got busier with more kids, tasks and goals I needed some help. Not to have help with the tasks but help in putting order into my life.

I am a busy mom of 4 kids, 2 who are in school and 2 who are still home. I struggle with stress and anxiety, and have a need to do something as great as possible! This is a reason why now I can’t live without my planner now.

Every week I look forward to sitting down and making my planner bright, and motivating. I got into loving my stickers, quotes and zone cleaning.

I didn’t always use a planner, one of the big actual planners.

These came into my life a couple years ago and now I’m hooked.

I use to use just a piece of paper jot down what I needed or thought I needed to get done, some mental notes not to forget. Then I had used a note book with the days jotted down in it.

THE HAPPY PLANNER CLASSIC SIZE

Now I’m in the real designed ones and am addicted.I say a real one, as that’s what it is! I now am in a classic size happy planner! With a monthly layout and weekly spread.

I have zones for each day of the week, a spot for out of house business, kid schedule, meals and so much more.

I started decorating and dazzling it up with washi tape and stickers and love it and  here’s why!

My last planner was a gift, a standard office book with the same idea. As I was using it I decided it would be nice to color code it… It was a black and white book, then after a bit and needing to make it “perfect” I realized it was turning into a chore not a fun thing.

So time for a change.

I seen some ideas and found washi tape and stickers on sale at Michael’s and set off to try so getting new.

Well after making my plain planner look oh so cute, a new year rolled in. A big important year, year of 2020, the big change year, anything is possible year. The year for greatness.I knew I needed to keep my planner, but with a different set up I didn’t need to put as much into “setting it up” as the other.

What is in my planner?

How do I do set it up?

Let’s see shall we!

I start with the monthly layout, as appointments and commitments come in, they get written there. When each new week comes I know where to look for up coming plans.

monthy layout

This allows me to know earlier in advance which can make it easier not to over book of only myself but the family also!

One day a week usually on a weekend, I will sit down and get my planner goodies out and start.

Now I’m still getting back into a vertical classic planner, we each week is different just a little bit, as I find what is going to work the best.

There is three squares for each day, and each day is a new day!

One the top square is my zone cleaning, each day of they week I hit a different part of the house, this has where the zone is and what tasks or the to do list.

The middle square is being used for out of the house plans, and the kids chores, after school activities or extra do not forget topics for or about them.

Then the last square is for me and meals! This has what I’m working on, personal goals, then the meal plan for the day.

AFTER THE FUN ACCESSORIES

On the side bar is a nice note part, this has tasks I would like to get done through the list, but with no exact time, any goals I am working on gets tracked there, then any little reminders, notes or phone numbers can get jotted here!

It has been wonderful this month in the happy planner and should keep helping through the year!

As the routines get settled and goals become habits I see lots of fun!

Do you use a planner?

I would love to hear the different ways they are used!

What kind do you use?

Slice,Dice And Serve REPEAT

Morning, noon and night! Three times a day, whether your ready or wanting to! No one has a opinion unless it’s too late and then they don’t want it!

Does this sound familiar? I’m hungry, I want this, I want that! Oh I don’t like that anymore!

Do you cook in the house? Make the lunches?

Hi welcome back to Classy Classic’s By Kandis and if your new welcome!I am Kandis a mother of 4 children and a wife for over ten years!

I am the cook in the house, I plan it, prep it, cook it and serve it!

For a long time I was doing so good on meal planning. It helps in so many ways from eating better, having more time, and saving money.

There is so many ways to meal plan, and I thought since I was so out of practise I would take you along while I got back into it.

I set out to make sure I did at least my week meals!

I used to plan for 2 weeks if not the full month. This is because I am not from a city and so we do not go grocery shopping once a week. Sometimes we are only in the city for groceries once a month. This is a reason meal planning is so important in my house!

So let’s start!

Where to start?

You will need a place that you will look at ALOT to have them written down. There is no point in doing it if you can’t find it.

Meals were written in my planner

I find it easier to do one meal across first if doing for the week. So let me explain, I will start with the breakfast. Figure out the 7 days then move on.

I then figure out what we have first for breakfast, and go from there. I try not to double the same thing back to back to keep the complaining down, and that way if something arises they can do the same breakfast a couple days in a row and be ok.

As for lunch I don’t actually plan a lot, as the older kid’s are at school. However with the layout I can have a idea for the little ones as they tend to just munch all day.

This tho I can set out and have ideas for the weekend already set.

The real reason I like meal planning is to help with all the suppers. To have supper figured out, prepped and ready for 6:00 pm can be a job all in its self.

Too long I was just going with it, our suppers started to be tossed together not really healthy, expensive food. I have not done a freezer inventory in a while so it’s still not as deep as I could go lol.

However as a mom you have an little idea what’s in there! I set out and got an idea for suppers.

Then to see if you can use one item more then once. With this I mean: take my week I needed found beef for a couple meals.

Do bulk, in my case I pulled out elk meat to grind down and use for our 3 meals. One meat 3 meals I can do that.

I made sure the meals were in a row to use the meat as the last thing I want to do is through out food because it sat in the fridge to long!

Also remember to schedule in a left over meal. We will use these on a lunch somedays!

With 3 meals planned for 7 days, it can be easier to remember to pull that meat out the night before or first thing in the morning.

The next thing for meal planning that I like to do. Is a big meal plan for the month!

Just one a peice of paper I will make a sheet, or with a printable make one with a square for your meals and snacks.Whether you are needing to bulk shop or use what you have, or to do a grocery run half way through!

One paper is all you need!

Either way to do a big meal plan can help out especially when trying to watch your money.

Meal planning can be helpful in so many ways!

• Easier to prep and be ready

• Save time and money

• healthier meals

Do you meal plan?

Week by week, 2 week plan or month to month?
