MY LAUNDRY LIFE

Hello good morning and welcome back to Classy Classic’s By Kandis!

How was your week on deep cleaning your zone?

I hope you are finding it an easier way to get holiday ready!

It is funny I thought with the week that I had I would try to incorporate my laundry routine into the holiday prep!

What a better time, then while I am washing everything under my roof!

Let me tell you why!
There is a couple reasons on why this blog is about my laundry routine! I am also going to be sharing my laundry detergent and fabric softener that I make.

I do laundry EVERYDAY here! The sad thing is is that is me being caught up, on laundry.

Last month my washer had went! A whole month I had no washer here, our neighbor was so nice and let us take some over to do it there. I will tell you the husband was never so eager to do laundry for me. It wasn’t all taken care of because I can’t take all of the laundry over. But, he was definitely more than willing to go for a beer to throw a load of laundry in for me.

Now that my washer is fixed. There is definitely a need for the laundry routine again. I spent the last 3 days catching up on laundry and boy was there still a lot! With the washer fixed and laundry back on track!

What was still needing to be put away!

I thought it would be a good time to talk about my laundry routine.

Laundry is something that gets done everyday here. I really enjoyed using the delay button on my washer. I had never used this before and then I was watching a video one day and a lady had said why not use the delay system on the washer?

Well, why not?

She had said it’s like doing a chore while you’re sleeping. Why wouldn’t you have the laundry wash itself while you were sleeping and be able to put it into the dryer when you get up?

Just like that it made sense.

Why not put laundry in the night before have it set to go off super early in the morning? Throw it in the dryer and laundry is half done already, before I’m even having my coffee. This is something I am trying to put into the evening routine. I will put what I am washing the next day in and set it to go off at about 5 a.m. In morning when I get up, I can simply get it into the dryer.

If there’s another ready I can simply keep going with laundry!

Little while back, couple kids ago I sat down and I cropped it and new laundry routine! I am in the process of teaching my oldest kid how to do laundry, but with that it gets kind of difficult waiting on them to feel like putting it in.

So ready or not here we go.

I have something on the go for laundry every day, this is a nice way to keep me caught up. This also gives us enough time to make sure that is folded and everyone can get their clothes put away.

Monday- my sheets, toddler sheets and once a month are quilts.

Tuesday- I try to do towels.

Wednesday – my husband and my clothes

Thursday – the crib sheets and start of the big kids laundry pile

Friday- the big kids sheets once a month their quilts

Saturday -finish the big kids laundry from upstairs

Sunday – sort everything and to just finished washing folding and putting away.

Depending on the zone that I’m in that week depends on what extra I might be washing. For example if my zone is in the bathroom for an extra load, I will wash the bathroom matts that are on the floor also before the holidays I will always wash my shower curtains!

Like you can see laundry is always on the go here! There is always something that can get put into the wash.

This takes me my next part of my laundry blog which is my laundry detergent and fabric softener!

If you have been following me for a bit. Then you know that I make my own laundry detergent and fabric softener. I am sure this in a blog before. But I thought I would share it again here on this laundry blog.

Laundry detergent
For the laundry detergent that should last at least three months if not even longer. I’m not 100% sure of how long my last but I know it last definitely months. I always told myself to mark down when I make it so that I can see how long it lasts us here, but then I never do.
What you will need is:
 1 box borax
 1 large box baking soda
 1 container, Unstoppable beads
 1 box of Arm & Hammer laundry soap
 3-4 graded bars of soap of sunlight laundry bars
 1 container of oxy
Mix them all together and store them in any container. I use 2 scoops from one of the containers and that is all I do.

How I store my laundry detergent!

FABRIC SOFTENER
Where the fabric softener all you were going to need is:
 2 cups of conditioner
 3 cups of white vinegar
 6 cups of water
Mixed together I use an old fabric softener jug that I have had for years and mix it all together. Put it into the jug. Give it a good Shake. Good to go use one capfull as you usually would in your wash.

So that it is there’s my laundry routine. That’s how I try to keep up with laundry and what I use when I do my laundry.

What about you?

HOLIDAY HOUSE PREP!

Hello and good morning’ welcome to Classy Classic’s By Kandis! It is full holiday prep here in this house! I am so determined to have some epic holidays here!

What are your plans big or small for the holidays this 2020?

This blog was stating as a undecorate with me. Then life happened and I ended up organizing and deep cleaning one of my holiday crawl space.

This is ALL holidays except Christmas…it has it’s own space lol

This is not a new thing for me, and I am trying to take my camera with me more! I am definitely trying to bring you all along with me this holiday season.

I was totally pumped for all the Halloween decorations and fun treats!

Halloween is just so fun!

Did you catch the Halloween fun blog?

I will leave it linked here along with the Halloween goodies blog!

HALLOWEEN FUN!

HALLOWEEN GOODIES

So when Halloween is done, I usually do wait a little after before intake down the decorations! However, this year that did not happen.

Let me tell you why!

I have a rule in the house that we do not decorate for Christmas until after Remembrance Day. There is already thanksgiving here in Canada in October so, that gives me a couple weeks.

Now, I also want to point out that my son’s birthday is the beginning of December. Most years I don’t even decorate until after his birthday but, this year I asked him if we could decorate early and…. WE ARE!

Like I said I am having fun with ALL holidays this year.
The day after Halloween as I was talking with the family, we ended up getting all the decorations down. It did not stop there tho!

I ended up getting more organizing tubs last time I was in the city! I ended up separating the Halloween costumes this year. I had had them set up with a box for the adult costumes and a tub form the kids.

With the big kids getting bigger, they are getting to the adult ones any ways….. not to mention the mess of both bins coming out anyways!

What is next for the home with holiday prep?

I find this is a good time to start trying to get some nagging annoying tasks off the list, and just be done with them.

My deep cleaning usually takes place from January through March. I thought this year I would start now and work on house stuff then!
I have been working through the zones with taking more time for the dirty deep cleaning and organizing.

Do you have your zones mapped out?

I’ll leave a link for my zone cleaning blog here!

HOW I KEEP UP WITH THE HOUSE USING ZONE CLEANING!

This week in the house is the kitchen and back bottom zone. I am not a fan of deep cleaning either I will point out. With deep cleaning I just hate how messy all of the house gets as I am making a big mess with deep cleaning. I tell myself that the big mess will be taken care of and the deep cleaning is at least done for this round.

This week for deep cleaning I took care of washing cupboards, organizing them, I pulled the stove and ewwww cleaned behind it. I had tempted to pull the fridge out and clean behind there but, the fridge moved me more then I moved it.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be!
It also didn’t take as long as I tend to think!

So that task will have to wait!

I also took care of the chairs… these all, get wiped down again before the holidays. The fan is white again, walls have been wiped, my oak stand wiped and organized, then I’m moving into organizing the shelves in my back room and reorganizing it.

The fan was needing love!
My wall washer makes walls too easy for an excuse!

I am going to make a spot for my extra under the sink cleaning products and only some more daily items left under the sink.

It is definitely a little better!

With just some doors to be wiped, floor needs a good scrub and baseboards needing wiped I think it was a good productive week.

I wish my floors stayed clean!

I managed to get a Amazon order in….. with one gift still may be not making it until December 23rd!

How are you Christmas shopping this year?

I have bigger hopes then any other year to have my shopping done early cause well WHAT A YEAR!

I hope you are excited for the holiday blogs coming up. It is going to be fun with baking, cooking, cleaning and organizing motivation it will be a great time!

Looking forward to the holiday blogs make sure to like this one and I will keep you updated on the house holiday prep!

Let me know what you are looking forward to this holiday season?

MONTHLY GOALS.. A CUTE WAY

Good Morning, welcome back!

Happy new month! I have always liked the beginning of a new month! It just feels like a way to get started again. There is always a new adventure waiting, a new talk, celebration, something.

There is, always new goals. I have trying to make this crazy 2020 year as fun and well normal that I can! It seems to be getting hard as more and more things keep arising in this year!

However, when I got my new planner it has a section that I wasn’t sure what to do with! Then one day at the beginng of the month I had a thought! This is how I now have turned one page in my planner each month into a overview of my monthly goals and dreams!

Do you try to reach different goals each month?

What goals do you change month to month? With my monthly layout it has more then my goals!

This is a place where I get to jaz up and make a spot for myself to look and amost reflect on some stuff!

With it now November … EEKK Happy holiday season! With the holiday season now here 2020 or not, I thought I would share my monthly layout and then we can get rolling into the holiday season here on Classy Classics By Kandis!

Let me start with sharing a little about my self and why I am so excited about the holidays here on the blog with all of you! I am a stay at home mom, I have 4 very energetic children ages 11,9,3, and 1 ½ this soon to change as everyones birthday is in the winter months here! I have been married for 12 years and a stay at home mom since our first.

I started my blog in the hopes to connect with moms who are just trying! Trying to get the laundry done, crumbs swept up and possibly have a coffee before its cold or like me and gets put down and lost! I am a organizer and a baker from home, and also started working with Monat.

This is all things that I love to do, with that I am all about finding some tricks to make those daily tasks smooth so that there is time for all the fun in life. I love sharing any organizing, cleaning, baking, decorating, and planning stuff! If this is some things that you are jiving then make sure you hit that like button and follow the blog!

With the holidays here I am trying to post more, I am trying to remember to bring you all along with me in this fun, crazy rollercoster if a ride 2020 has brought! So if you are ready for a planning and organizing, dream and goal chasing blog then lets go!

If you are excited for the holidays and fun, fun posts please make sure you follow add your email. This way you will get notifications on new blogs that come up!

NEW MONTH LAYOUT

When it comes to a new month I will always try to have what I am trying to do broke down, this is so it seems almost like less. More personal not just more chores written down. I will make sure to include personal chores also, I like to always try to do at least one thing for me in the month, even if it’s just to do a facemask or maybe a later t.v night!

I have 3 spots on my page:

I usually start with outdoor chores, then I have inside chores, then on the bottom I have my personal. The personal part has family stuff and my stuff sometimes.

My monthly layout for NOVEMER!

So, this month it says picture day, well my kids are not in a school, as we actually didn’t have an option of going to the school to get them done.

What did you do for school pictures this year?

So, this picture day that will be put in the month of Novemeber, used for a family Christmas card photo. I have to say I am sad that there was school photos this year! I am going to have to make this a good picture lol!

Got any good ideas to incorporate a no school, but school 2020?

Haha I look forward to all of your help on this one!

So on the planner page, there is 3 catagories, then I make sure to add birthdays, or other holidays. I will add some pretty birthday washi tape on above the holiday section on the bottom of the page.

It is an American planner so, any Canadian holidays is what I mean I add if there is holidays to add.

IMPORTANCE OF NEW GOALS!

I find that having new goals set in mind tends to help keep me on track a little more. I will something roll my monthly goals over to the new month. This depends on what the goals where!

If you just focus on one goal it can make the months long. I find I can get a little more hard on myself, if I can get my mind set on new goals it as a great energy to it!

New month, new goals, new dreams. When I am working on my weeks in the month, I can easily take a goal from the month and place it where I can get the best and more productive time for it.

How do you do new months?

Is there something that you do for you? How do you set up for a new month. I am extra exited for November as, after Rememeberance day happens, this is when I say I can bring out my Christmas planning book.

This is year Christmas is in full forse! Are you going big for the holidays this year?

If you liked the planner blog, make sure you go ahead and hit that like button. With holidays here there is so many more holiday planning, organizing, cleaning, cooking and baking coming.

HALLOWEEN GOODIES

Hello and of coase Happy almost Halloween! I thought with the last blog post Halloween fun,

HALLOWEEN FUN!

it would be extra fun to come on and share a couple fun treats we have been brewing here!

If you are new and not sure about the house hold here I’ll quickly fill you in! This year is a little different…. just all around, I have 4 kiddos between the ages of 11 to 1 1/2 years old. The oldest 2 are at home doing remote learning, so for that reason and others there is no class Halloween treats!

Now this is something that I tend to go a little big on lol! So I was feeling a little lost I guess, so why not make some fun Halloween treats for at home!

The first treat that I made was:

MINI BANANA LOAF WITH CREAM CHEESE ICING!

This is just my normal banana muffin recipe then I put the batter in a pan from pampered chef!

This recipe you need:

1 1/2 cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 Tbsp cinnamon

3 large bananas

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1/3 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 350°

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Separate bowl combine banana, sugar, egg and melted butter.

Fold wet ingredients with dry. Fold together till mixed. Do not over mix!

Fill muffin tin 3/4 full!

BAKE TIME

Mini 10-15 minutes

Large 25-30 minutes

X Large 35-45 minutes

CREAM CHEESE ICING

• 8 oz (1 pack) cream cheese

• 1/2 cup butter

•1 tsp vanilla

• 4 cups icing sugar

•1-4 Tbps milk

Cream butter and cream cheese together. Add vanilla and powdered sugar until fluffy. Slowly add milk mix until smooth!

Mummy mini banana loafs!

Next I made muffins! I had got some edible cupcake stickers from the dollar store and thought it would be fun! My oldest sons favorite think is pumpkin pie, I thought why not make a fun Halloween themed pumpkin muffins!

PUMPKIN MUFFINS

These are so easy to make, you can also add raisins too them! I did not this round! For these you will need:

• 1 egg

• 3/4 cup milk

• 1/2 cup vegetable oil

• 2 cups flour

• 1/3 cup sugar

•3 Tbps baking powder

•1 tsp salt

• 1/2 cup puree pumpkin

Grease bottoms of muffin cups.

Our spooky pumpkin muffins!
Our jumbo muffins

Up next:

Every year I make almond spritz cookies! They are just so light and yummy! These you can use a cookie press or cookie cutters! I love them! I have made icing and made little stuffed cookies too! There is much you can do with this yummy, super easy cookie!

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Cream butter and sugar together well. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Add vanilla.

Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. For e dough through cookie press, or roll and cut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. You can also decorate with sugar beads at this time!

Bake at 400° for between 8-12 minutes, or until edges are starting to brown, varies on cookie size!

Some fun cookies, light enough the kids can ALMOST help themselves!

For the last one, it is one of my husbands favorite’s! Now bare with me, I can’t share pictures, not yet any ways! I am in the process of making this tomorrow so, you will have to join me on Facebook! I share lots of day to day fun and ideas, with baking, cooking, cleaning and organizing! So let’s talk the last Halloween treat!

PUMPKIN JELLY ROLL!

This is the softest yummiest cream cheese filled jelly roll I’m telling you! You have to try this one!

For this recipe you will need:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3/ cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup puree pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/ tsp ginger
  • 1 /2 tsp nutmeg

Grease 10× inch jelly roll…I use a cookie sheet with parchment paper or was paper!

Beat eggs until frothy. Add sugar and beat until thick and light colored.

Slowly beat in pumpkin.

Mix next 6 ingredients in slowly, fold carefully. Pour into prepared pan..

Bake at 375° for about 15 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Have a tea towel with icing sugar on it. Turn cake out onto towel, if used parchment paper or wax paper, slowly peel it off!

ROLL cake, start at short side, roll cake and towel together. Cool. Unroll cake, remove towel. Fill with cream cheese filling!

CREAM CHEESE FILING!

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine

Beat all together. Spread over cake and re-roll.

HALLOWEEN FUN!

Wha hahaha BOO!

Hi, welcome back to a new blog! I am so excited to do this fun Halloween blog. I thought it would be fun to just have a just have a fun Halloween blog. It seems like Halloween this year is extra fun!

With covid here, children everywhere were waiting to hear what they could do this year! That go light went on Halloween and everyone got more excited for it!

It is almost like we forgot how much we loved the holiday until it was almost not “allowed.” It is like the saying “you don’t know what you got till its gone.”

Everything was almost got more exciting this year when children were informed, they could still go out and enjoy the traditional fun.

This year was a crazy year, 2020 sure has had the last say more then once do far. I had that this 2020 year all holidays are going to be great! With how wonky it has been, while I’m still waiting for a little more 2020 to still come, I have my guard up!

There is so much that is happening in the world, with more of the year still to come. I wanted to embrace the holiday and share how we are doing Halloween! What is funny, is not much has changed for Halloween, I put up our decorations, with hopefully a couple more things to come!

Every year I like to get something new, it is never big, and usually from a dollar tree…. Cause umm yes please who doesn’t love a good dollar store run! With the kids being needing to be kids, they needed to have a great Halloween as so much has changed but not a lot at the same time….. Does that make sense to you lol!

I have 4 kids, they are ages of 11,9,3 and 1 ½ what fun ages for the holiday. The 2 older kids are at home year from schooling. They are doing the remote learning, so I felt that they deserved a good Halloween. They can have the fun, go see their friends, get some candy and enjoy knowing that not EVERYTHING has changed and not forever!

The other thing is too, I have not changed what we do, or really even how we do it, but the look on their face when we were decorating for Halloween and filtering through the costumes, was a great moment as the mom! I tend to forget the excitement of the fun for the holidays.

So lets go and take a look at my house for Halloween, I have a fun cookie recipe that I do every year to have on our table, well maybe the counter so ALL the kids won’t just “help” themselves all day!

Do you go all out for Halloween?

What are some special things that you do?

There is something about adding decorations up that just adds some fun to the house! I usually have the same decotations I am definitely one that will reuse my stuff until I literally can’t. Every year to just add a couple new decorations is a nice way to add but not to hurt the wallet or to get overwhelmed either.

This year I added a couple new things, they are a nice extra touch! I do have plans on trying to another thing that is a must in this house, more so I think this year as we won’t be sending the super fun Halloween classroom treats!

That was always so much fun yes, I am the mom that would send big big fun treats!

This year I will make sure I have some cookies set out! This is something that I always had done, but this year with everything happening, kids are home from school, everyone is home!

They are the yummiest and easiest spritz cookie’s! With some Halloween cookie cutter, they are perfect for in a house where everyone loves cookies. I will have the recipe down below with the house fun!

Do you have a certain treat that you have around for Halloween!

I thought it would be a fun blog to take you around the house and see what I did this year for some added Halloween fun! If you jive the Halloween house tour and cookie recipe fun make sure you give this blog a thumbs up, so I know to make some more blogs like this!

With the holiday season coming up there is going to be so much fun here on Classy Classics By Kandis blog!

Make sure you also follow the blog! If you put your email address in, you can get notifications on new blogs! I do aim for a new blog once a week, but then sometimes life happens, or I blink lol. I do tend to be late ALL THE TIME! Lol

10 WAYS TO TIDY..FAST!

Hello, and good morning! Welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Did you have a good weekend, maybe other then with the covid rules? It is now fall here in Saskatchewan, and it with Thanksgiving over it seems that the holidays are rolling in! I love the holiday months, I think its because its just so cold here, that it helps to have all these holidays to keep me busy inside… which we are always busy but the holidays are fun. Lol

Every month now until summer there is a holiday, with big holidays too. I thought what better time to talk about some fast and easy ways to keep the house looking tidy for when friends and family start coming over.. and remember its too cold here to visit outside now!

In Saskatchewan the company is coming in for the visit! There is no hanging outside now!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself and why the house is always needing a quick tidy, well actually like a whole cleaning team lol, but when you have company coming, there isn’t time for a deep clean, even just a clean. When you only have a couple minutes, maybe its only 5 or 10 minutes a day you have while making all the cookies and meals.

These are my quick and easy clean house tips, that will make your house look like all you did was clean, but the meals in the oven say other wise. If you are new here, I will fill you in really quick!

Hi I’m Kandis, I am a stay at home mom, I live in Saskatchewan… and summer is over here! I have 4 kids and have been married forever! My kiddos are all at home, as we are remote learning from school right now, and the other 2 are still little. The kids are in the ages of 11 down to 1 ½ they defiantly keep me busy and my house not clean.

I love hosting get togethers, but my anxiety can make it a little hard at times. There needs to be everything, and everything needs to be great lol.

So, when it comes to the holiday months it seems like there is less and less time to have the house ready for when company comes. Maybe there is company coming for days, maybe there is something happening multiple times and so it hard to get some of those routines done.

These are some of my fast 10 cleaning hacks that will help you and your house keep calm while the holidays are on.

What do you do around the holiday months to keep up with everything?

I have 10 quick tips and tricks that I have picked up through the years of how to make your house ready for quick company anytime throw the holidays!

Are you ready?

Happy cheat cleaning!

1. Dishes– The house will always look more out when there is a stack of dishes. If you can’t get them done, even wash them and drip dry, or stack them nice in the sink. A organized pile of dishes still looks better then a big over flowing sink!

2. Wipe the kitchen– If I am needing to tidy the house, making sure the table and counters are cleaned off… as best as you can for the tasks that you are doing that day.

3. Sweep– One of the first thing that someone will probably notice is the floors. Don’t worry about completely doing them, but a quick sweep to get some extra crumbs gone will always help.

4. Clean off the couches– Run around with a hamper even and pick up everything that was collected on the couches. My house there is always stuff on the couch.

5. Fluff the pillow or fix the sitting area– There is going to be visiting done in the living room. Try to fluff the pillow if you have any. Refold the blankie and lay it over the back or lay it on the arm. A comfy couch is an inviting couch.

6. Vacuum lines– There is something about fresh vacuum lines that makes a house look so clean. Do a quick 2-minute vacuum. If can’t get to vacuuming, did you know if you vacuum the back or the parts of the couch you can see, it makes the house look vacuumed. You can also sweep your rug if there is no time to vacuum. The sweep marks can make it look like you vacuumed that day!

7. Bathroom– The company will almost most likely be using the bathroom. You don’t have to go full out, but a spot clean will be great. With just a cloth spot clean the counters, mirror and sink. Do a quick once over with the toilet, and if you use toilet cleaner (I use vinegar and baking soda) leave some of the cleaner in the toilet, it looks like you were cleaning the whole bathroom!

8. Clutter– There will always be stuff out of place. You can use anything here! A laundry hamper, a garbage bag, box ANYTHING! Run around and pick up what does not belong. Don’t worry about having time to put it away. Hide the basket and do it after lol but getting it off the floor is what we are focusing on.

9. Garbage– The house will always look cleaner if you can pick up the garbage. Grab a bag and run around! Pick up any garbage that is out and about, if your garbage is full, change it out.

10. Make the house smell good– A simple task will make the most difference. I noticed if all I have time for is lighting a candle or spraying the house, this will be a game changer.

When they walk into a house that smells nice, the house will look better.

EVEN IF THIS IS THE ONLY ONE DONE!

When it comes to the holiday season, especially when you live where it is cold, the visiting is done inside. With these 10 tips you can be happy knowing that your house will or can be company ready in under an hour!

Another time saver can be to set up zone cleaning!

EVENING ROUTINE..COUNT DOWN TO BED!

Hi, good morning and welcome back to another routine blog here on Classy Classy By Kandis!

I hope you are having a good routine day!

How did your day go?

It is funny how the day tends to fly by until the night time comes! The count down to bed is on, and all I want to do is get everyone in their beds and put my feet up! My nights tend to flop a lot on what I will be doing.

The biggest, best but hardest habit I find that I am in right now for bed time is that I AM JUST DONE!

Now I know how that sounds, so lets go back a little. My nights are that MINE lol. I am a stay at home mom of 4 kids, and they get exhausting!

I love having some me time here and here!

However with them homeschooling this year there is very little mom time! I use to and aim to have my nights be as productive as they can be, and my evening routine should help! I don’t like waking up to a messy house, ok my anxiety does not like it! If I can stick to my evening routine then it should make for a pretty smooth, and producive evening for me. My routines also run me a good chunk of time, as I have them set up for certain parts of the day!

Have you been following the routine blogs?

I will link the morning, and afternoon blogs here!

A GOOD DAY STARTS WITH A GOOD MORNING ROUTINE!

AFTERNOON ROUTINE.. DON’T FORGET THE COFFEE!

THE POWER OF A ROUTINE!

Also go ahead and follow the blog, follow with an email to sign up and you can get notifications on when new ones are uploaded!

MY EVENING ROUTINE!

I think my favorite routine is the evening some days, this is because I know that the day is winding down, and one more strong routine and the kids will be heading to bed, and I can go and relax.

The nice part is knowing that my house got tidies up for in the morning! I like finishing one day off, waking up to a clean-ish lol house to get ready for the next day!

My evening will run roughly 6 to 11 this is including my time!

What do I aim to get done in the evenings?

-supper

-food away

-tidy kitchen and wipe it down

-dishes

-kids zone clean

-bath/showers

-sweep

-vacuum if needed

-spot mop

-prep coffee for morning

-pull meat from freezer

-kids to bed

-ME TIME

That is what I try to do!

That is my last routine for the day!

I find if I can just get these last things done, it will set me up for a good morning. The last thing that I want to do is have to get up and finish cleaning the house from the day before.

There is sometimes where I won’t get my routine done, or not all of it. There is usually something going on in that case!

SETTING UP THE ROUTINE!

I find the evening can be a easier one to set up, sometimes it can be easy to try to over do it, but mostly it can be a easy one to set up!

Look around at your house!

What would you like to get done before you call it a night. Usually it will be just a couple pick up and set up for the next day.

Don’t try to do an entire day on one routine!

It will not work smoothly that way!

A night routine is one set out to help calm the house and prep yourself for the next day!

To get into the habit easier and to not get overwhelmed, do one task a night adding a new task on each night or every couple nights, to see what needs to be in that routine and to start making it a habit! Let me explain this one for a minute!

If you do your dished every night, find a certain time to do it, and do it every night, when the next week comes it will be something that will just fit into your routine.

Then you can add your next task, and so on till you have your routine chores figured out, and they are already becoming a habit. You will see a difference when you get up and ready for the next day!

A clean kitchen is addictive!

One chore at a time, one hourly block at a time, a routine will come and before you know it the hand full of chores is a habit.

There is also something that I had got from a lady that I love to follow on youtube… Happily A House Wife. She had said “try to do something tonight, that I will thank myself for in the morning.”

This is a great one, expecially if you are caught in a bit of a rut, if you are always on the go. How are your routines?

Do you use routines?

Have you started?

I hope you are liking the routine blog series. Make sure you give it a like, so I can keep doing blogs like this.

AFTERNOON ROUTINE.. DON’T FORGET THE COFFEE!

Hello and good morning!

Welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis!

How did your morning go?

This week has been just crazy in my house! The kids are all home, and we are trucking along on the remote learning! My house is still standing, I have not pulled out all my hair, plus my dishes are done!

Well at least for now they are haha.

Its funny how the afternoon was used for before whether it is when the older kids were smaller, or when they at school. I don’t know what the year will entail, all I know is that I still need a solid afternoon routine!

I have always been a routine girl, well since I became a full time at home mom, and my routines deffinlty got stronger as we had more kids. There is something about the afternoon that makes the day just go bye fast! I find that the afternoon is a very mixed time, between either getting the other chores done when the littles are napping, or maybe trying to put my feet up.

The afternoon is a time where if I blink my day is done and now im struggling. It is strange to know and see the effects of routines when I had slowed down on them.

I have been redoing my routines, these past weeks! I started with my morning routine, then afternoon, evening then the block system!

Did you catch the morning routine blog?

I will leave a link here if you did not catch it!

A GOOD DAY STARTS WITH A GOOD MORNING ROUTINE!

I find a morning routine is where I needed to start in trying to get my chaos under control! There was a big gap of summer break and the uncertanty of what was happening that made a lot of stress here!

Let me tell you a little bit about my house and why I am on board fully with routines, and why I love them and rely on them!

I am a stay at home mom of 4 kids! 11,9,3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old! We have decided to keep the older kids home, to do schooling here.

There is just always someone needing something, telling on someone, crumbs EVERYWHERE, and just so much happening. I decided to go full force on routines a couple years ago, it was before we were expecting the 3rd, and now…. I love my routines and I tend to get a little ancy, little stressed and a little stretched when I don’t have my routines happening!

MY AFTERNOON ROUTINE

I try not to have as much on my list for the afternoon!

Well not as many but maybe bigger tasks. My afternoon runs me roughly from 12 to 5 lets say. There isn’t really to much of a time on this because naps are in the afternoon. I LOVE NAP TIME! Thought I should point that out lol.

My routine will be more of:

-lunch

-clean up

-wipe the kitchen

-dishes

-sweep

-kids down for nap

-zone cleaning or to finish a task (there is some stuff that is easier at nap)

-finish schooling

-kids have a afternoon (after school) routine

-prep supper

Then that will kinda be wrapping up the afternoon!

Like I said my afternoon does not include any new tasks. If I am looking to clean the van, or work downstairs ect. Thses are the tasks that can be easier at nap.

Just like in the morning routine, your routine might not look like anything of mine. You may not even have a afternoon routine. Maybe its just a afterschool routine, the routines are there if it is what YOUR house needs.

Do you have a afternoon routine?

What is your afternoon set for?

There is so many versions of a routine the sky is the limit! With a strong morning routine, I find that my afternoon is not as fast paste! With how the house is going with the schooling here I am finding it more important then ever to try to schedual my days to the fullest.

HOW TO CREATE THE ROUTINE

When I start sketching out my afternoon routine it can fall into place easier then the other routines I find as it is almost just the filler time.

I had made my morning routine, then when I did the afternoon, just as the others for about a week I do what I am doing and make a list of what was done in the afternoon. Then I would get a feel for what could or should be done.

With knowing what fits best into my afternoon routine then I could crop one out on paper! I find that a week is a good time frame for it, as a lot of stuff can come up in a week.

So if there is going to be a task that would work better another time, you will see it.

Make your schedual work with you, but be flexable enough to work with the schedual! Make sure you have your time frame out so you know what you are working with.

Don’t worry if your routine is not like other.

OTHERS ARE NOT YOU!

YOU ARE YOU!

YOUR ROUTINE IS YOURS!

Maybe your afternoon routine is to tidy up, nap, shower and get ready to go! Just make sure when you are making the routine you know the time frame to be working in, this is so you don’t over book yourself but, you still are getting what you need done!

More on that statement coming with the block system!

Go ahead and make sure you are following the blog! Follow with your email and get notifications on new blogs! I aim to upload a new one Mondays!

No matter on the type of routine that you are creating, it is set for what you will need to keep what you need done! does, whether its one of five of them.

Make sure you give the blog a thumbs up if you liked it! There is more coming out soon! Don’t forget to follow the blog, and go ahead and sign up with an email!

This will give you notices on when I upload new ones!

I aim for a new blog every week!

A GOOD DAY STARTS WITH A GOOD MORNING ROUTINE!

Good morning, welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis!

I have a fun set of blogs planned for this month! I hope you will join in for the routine blogs of September!

Are you a morning person?

I have always been a morning person! Well I always thought I was. I wasn’t the type to sleep all day, but with that it isn’t like I was up at silly hours before school, or before work.

Depending on how long ago you would like to compare. I started getting up much earlier after I had my kids. The more kids I had the earlier I got up. I assume its becuase the more kids I had the more there is to do lol. The issue with that is that then I have more to do it seems in a day, because I am up more in a day!

With having 4 children at home ages 11,9,3, and almost 2, there is always someone needing help. This year with we decided to keep the kids at home for schooling also. This one is new to me but I am so excited to beable to give it a try!

Comment down below if you kept your kids at home this year!

With having all the kids home all day now that has changed my morning by a 360! What better time then now to re due my moring routine. Our routines have been a little rough around the edges latley as I had no clue what was happening and no point in sketching out a routine for it to not work here.

So as much as it was not my style we just went through the basics of the time and made do of what we could with the time. Now that remote learning has started I feel we need to get our morning routine smoothed out.

A smooth morning can make the whole day I feel. It’s like making the bed in the morning, there is just some silly satifaction of it. So join me as I show you how I set up a morning routine and how to make it fit your morning needs. This will help keep the routine as help it become a habit vs a chore!

HOW TO SET UP A ROUTINE!

A problem that there is, is that a lot of people will want to strong rouine but don’t know how to set it up for their home. A lot of morning routines are the same, but there is always differences.

When someone is talking about their routine, a lot of the time one will just say “oh that would never work in this house” but then just stop!

This is where it will never come together then. After saying it would never work all you do is keep thinking lol. If it won’t work for you perfect, what will work for you?

There is so many different situations out there, so many different routines.

Think of a workout! How many different workout are there?

If not all will work for everyone, then how would a routine set to run YOUR house wok if it’s not set for YOUR house! Don’t get discouraged, just keep trying.

The first thing that I start with is a list!

What are the top things you do or try to in the morning? Work your way through the morning and put those chores in place.

Did you get all the things done?

This is where we play around. This is also only for the morning, work off of your hours not someone elses. This is also a place that will be your schedual. You are not going to use a full time working schedual if you are not working a out of house job. You feel me!

OK lets have some fun! Lets do our morning and see how it goes!

Didn’t get them done?

Didn’t have time?

Wasn’t the right time of day to do that chore?

Don’t want to do it 3 times a day?

These are all things to try to map out. If you are really stuck and just running in circles, sit down and make a hourly, as each hour go through in the morning, write down what was done. Then at the end of your morning look over it. This will give you an idea of what tasks can be done when.

A morning routine is just that a routine. It is something that is the same everyday! This is something that you will be able to get up and just get done. This will also help when it come time to skething out a block system!

STAY TUNED FOR THAT ONE!

Do some looking on pintrest for routines, but don’t try to just copy and run with someone elses routine. It won’t always work because it is just that someone elses routine. Writting out the routine and sticking to it! When you start making your routine, remember its yours! Make it as detailed as you need to start, this will just make to easier when you are writting out your morning chores. Get up, and do what you do, the catch here is either write down what you did each hour, or write down what you DID get done. Either way it will give you an outline to look at.

You can either make your routine on a paper that you write out yourself (like me) or you can print it off the computer. Make sure you have it in a sheet protector either way, you will also need a dry erase marker, you will love seeing all the tasks crossed off when you are done the morning routine.

When I start redoing any of my routines I like to so them one chore at a time!

So morning routine!

What is the first thing you do when you get up till the time you get lunch on, this is the goals you have for that time! Now this can be as detailed of a routine to as basic as it can be. Its all up to what you need. You can simply add more or take more away.

HOW DOES MY MORNING ROUTINE LOOK?

My morning routine is more of a detailed one, as it runs me until lunch. I have a morning routine that I have been working on for about a week, this is how I can make switches and change stuff without getting overwhelmed.

This is how it typically will go in the morning. This is when the kids start getting up, before the kids are up (which the little’s have been getting up really early!)

– make bed -get dressed -hair, teeth and wash face -work -breakfast – kids dressed/ready – kitchen clean up

-dishes

– start lundry

– quick house pick up

-zone cleaning or daily chore

This is a routine that I found will keep the morning chaos somewhat down! Some days they may be done in a certain order, but this is what I aim to get done before noon!

Other then some blogging work that is the what I aim to work on before the kids get up!

The daily chore I have started again, this is just a certain chore I try to do each day of the week. They are not zones or entire rooms, just a little task to keep some chores under control.

So for Monday’s, its to mop, tuedsya is tidy and clean toilet ect! AGAIN STAY TUNED FOR MORE ON THIS!

It is deffently a different year!

With having the kids doing school at home, the morning as deffintly not the same! With them needing a strong routine with their online schooling, I also need to work with them, and their school schedual.

Has your morning changed with the craziness of 2020?

Whether you are at home, back at the office, kids at home or at school a morning routine is a way to get the day off to a good start. Remember for all those reasons this is why I said that know ones mornings are the same. Know ones routines will be the same. It is your morning and your routine!

Have some fun with it, play around. Remeber there is more hours in the day then your morning routine. Depending on your situation there may be many routines in your day!

For myself I am at home, and so I have a morning, afternoon and a evening routine. With some other lists and scheduals still. lol.

Do you already have a morning routine?

Does it need to be changed up, need to switch some things due to the seasons changing or events or LIFE haha?

Wanting more routines?

I am needing and going to and starting working on my other zones! Have you cheched out the other blogs that went up to do with zones.

I’ll put a link to the other blogs here!

THE POWER OF A ROUTINE!

Hi and good morning! Welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis! I thought I would take this weeks blog to talk about the power of routines! I have tryed a lot of different routines and scheduals over the years, to most always fall back on my “basic” routines!

Do you have regular routines?

I wanted to write this weeks blog about routines, to help tie in the next couple blogs, but to also point out that not everyone will have the same outline, schedual or the same amount of routines for the matter either!

Did you see the last blog on zone cleaning?

I will link it here if you did not see it, then go ahead and check it out next!

HOW I KEEP UP WITH THE HOUSE USING ZONE CLEANING!

This is a nice way to keep your whole house in control while you work, hitting some areas vs trying to clean your whole house at one time!

I have done other outine blogs, however I thought I would update the routine blogs, as I am revamping mine to get ready for the new school year!

Let me tell you about myself and why I relay on my routines to help me through the days! With being a stay at home mom, I have been for about 11 years now, I have 4 children aged 11,9,3 and 1 1/2!

This year a reason why my routines need a little extra attention is that I am teaching them at home this year! We have decided to keep our kids home till christmas at least. I have been married for 12 years, and have a couple little side job/hobbies at home!

Needless to say I stay rather busy, my days can deffently blurr together, and the house can look like a cracker factory exploded some days! Now I know my house is not perfect… like not close, but I don’t want it gross cause well I do live here! lol.

I am the type that will always just keep on going whether I have the help or not. I always say “anything is possible in 24 hours” just look at cinderella haha! I am a mom that believes my children can help and they do… or at least they are supposed to!

I have spent to many hours trying to figure out how to get my house under control. I get ancy really fast, anxeity will just come and knock on the door and let its self in! It took me a long time to realize that just like anything in life, your situation, your life style, your hopes and goals will not be the same as ANYONES!

Now im not saying don’t go and look here and there, don’t try to copy someones schedual. This is how you will learn what works for you and your family. I am saying tho don’t get discuraged if it takes a couple rounds to get it smoothed out!

I am a straight up schedualar! I love my routines, I need my routines! I can live without them, however I find my anxeity gets to me faster, I get more stressed and I will try to over do everything that I am trying to do. I lose control over the rooms and everything stats piling up in all sorts of corners!

This is when I will get overwhelmed and just start not being my best! This is not going to help anything or anybody. I have a lot of routines that I will fall to at times. Depending on what is happeneing in our life at that time, maybe its a change in season and the chores are changing up.

So what are my routines that I like to follow or at least have on hand?

There is many that I use like I said, and I am working on setting them up for the winter here at home. The next few weeks I will be writting about how I am revamping my routines, where they are in the house, and how they help not only me but the whole family.

The first one lets starts with is setting up the zone cleaning.

This one went out last week and I am loving that I restarted it. Zone cleaning is simply breaking your house up into “zones” having a certain spot each week that you are tackling. This is to declutter, deep clean and organize.

This however is set each week to keep it so I am not trying to do everything everyday! This is also away that I am able to get my spring cleaning done throughtout the winter vs deep cleaning everywhere in a weekend.

I also have in a cleaning binder the daily, weely, monthly and yearly chores written out, then once a day I can look at the zone im in and do one weekly chore for that zone, this will help and take care of the deep cleaning through the weeks.

The next routines I feel go together, but have their own important tasks. I will usually have and be using my morning, afternoon and evening routines. These ones will need to be looked at and changed I think more then once.

As the kids start schooling at home, this will be a big change for the house. This is where I feel these routines may take a couple go’s at to get them situated.

The evening routine will stay close to how it usually is, however I still change it up, I am from saskatchewan and the difference between winter and summer is just that. The opposite and our weather shows it.

Another routine that I will use is the block sysytem. This one I found from Jordan Page! I will leave a link for it… if I can lol.

https://youtu.be/2BKuSlstIBM

This system is nice I find when trying to get the other routines smoothes over. This is like a hourly layout but it does not work hourly it works in chunks of the day! So on a paper you will make 3 charts!

One that is morning, one for afternoon and evening. This is a spot where you put what gets done when in the day. I like this for when I am overwhelmed and trying to just do to much. This will help plan for unexpected stuff that comes up. If you know that you will be working at a certain time but you have a block set out for nothing say at 2pm then you can add your extra’s in the time that you know will not bomb the rest of your day!

This system is a nice overlook of a day to help plan out your days smoother! So as you can see I tend to have a bit of routines and lists! This I do because I find when I feel I need to redue my routines or make them a little more smooth, then if they are not ready, or not strong enough I have other things to guide me through figuring it out.

These I find can be nice to as a little reminder to me that even when I feel that a lot has not been taken care of, I can look and see what has been done and what needs to be done! Without ripping my house apart and “deep cleaning” in a weekend!

Do you have routines?

Do you use them?

Looking for a smoother way?

I hope this blog as motivated you to get a routine sketched out. They are a game changer that will hopefully help you have a smooth house.

I have done older blogs about all my routines that I will link for you to have a look.

Planning Is Preparing

Weekly prep

There is more routine blogs also on the webpage!

I will be starting new blogs on my routines! It will be fun! Don’t miss out one these blogs coming!
