Hi good morning, welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis.
How is your week?
I hope you had a good week! January is going good,, working on some goals vamping your routines?
Every week that I sit down and I get ready for the next week! I thought this blog I would take you a long so you could get ready for the week and see how we get ready for the week in this house!
Do you do a weekly reset day? The nice thing about a recent day is it can be any day that you have trying to reset for your following week!
This is something that I have done for years now and I am so happy I do! I had first really jumped into the bigger week prep after seeing I’m a video from Sam off of Happily a housewife! She is one of my favourite YouTubers and I have been watching her for years now!
With the kids going back to school they started a couple weeks ago now, noticed that I wasn’t doing the same weekly reset obviously is that I was doing! With that it changes to lots right because of the age and seasons in the time of year but no matter what I know I like to do some sort of a weekly reset or a Sunday prep day as I call it because it’s always on a Sunday it just really helps my week run as smooth as what I can possibly try to make it!
Like I said you can do it any day that you have the time to prep your week! If all you have is a Wednesday free go ahead and use your Wednesday to prep your week! The whole point about a weekly reset is that you can make your next week run as smooth and stress-free as what kind of can!
When it comes to my weekly reset there are some of the things that I always tried to get done!
I will usually try to get fruit and veggies washed and sliced put into containers into the fridge for the kids lunches through the week!
I tend to make bread on Sundays!
Any extra products that need to be made like my laundry detergent, fabric softener, baby wipes anything of that sort I’ll try to get made up on Sunday also!
I will try to get laundry that’s upstairs the kids laundry sorted and ready to go for the week oh, any clothes that is folded and needing to get put away we try to get them put away that day!
Also this is the day that the kids are asked to get their rooms cleaned up, wipe down and vacuumed!
Sundays are also a day that I will make sure that my planner is finished and ready to go, I will start to do some planning for the next week in it!
One more thing that I will try to do on Sunday if I have time and ambition, is to get a shower in and wash my hair and do a hair mask! This makes my hair feels so great and just ready for the week! I use the replenish Masque from Monat!
Have you ever heard of the company Monat? I’ll also leave a link below it’s a great company I will do a different blog again more about it later!
These are some of the typical things that I will do on my Sunday, as I have chores that usually do on certain days through the week!
If you want to know more about mine daily tasks give this blog a thumbs up and we will go through daily chores just as the way that I keep up with some of the chores between my zone cleaning and deep cleaning!
I find the weeks that I can do my Sunday prep as strong as what I can, my week tends to be not as chaotic and my stress doesn’t go up quite as fast! They’re of course or weeks that none of this gets done and I definitely feel the effects of it starting Monday all the way through Friday LOL!
I hope you enjoyed this blog about my Sunday reset, I hope it gave you a little bit of motivation to start a prep day in your house!
The prep does not have to be big it does not have to be exhausting, it is merely just to get what you think needs to be done to make your week smoother.
Make sure to go ahead and give this blog a like if you enjoyed it, I look forward to doing more blogs like this in the 2021 year as this year is all about just being strong and getting back to a smoother house!
Want more day-to-day mom stuff! More of my daily tasks, what I’m doing that day, just more of the personal side of my life make sure to check out my other social media pages!
I will leave links for Instagram and Facebook below and I would love for you to come check out those pages and say hi!
Until next week have an amazing day a wonderful weekend and a productive week! Bye for now!
This week is pretty big for me in the house, I’m not even sure really where to start this week and so we’re just going to get through the week okay!
I thought this week we could talk about routines, cleaning, getting back to reality! Needing to get back in the habit of my routines, all of my routines that is. I have three main routines that we use morning afternoon and evening!
With it being the beginning of a new year that is a time that I liked to look over my routine since there’s nothing that’s jiving really well, but also I need to go to my routines because my kids went back to school!
There will be more stuff like this on my other social media page’s! Make sure you come on over to Facebook or Instagram after I’ll have two links down below at the bottom please just have a little more day today personal aspects of my life!
So, with the kids going back they haven’t been in school since last March, we went with remote learning for the first half so we could see how it was like! I had asked my kids what they wanted to do for the last half of the school year, and they said they wanted to give it a try and see what it was like! So just like that they are getting ready to get on to the bus!
This is why I said I guess I’ll sit down and go through my routines, and get everything as smooth running as what we can too to get through the rest of the school year and to have a great start to the 2021 year.
This is something that I will just sit down one day this week and pull out all the routines and I have on hand, old ones and some newer ones plus the one from remote learning that I had set up!
This way I can sit down and I can see what was working before to see what was working now and try to get the best of both routines set for the best productive outcome that we can!
Do you do routines?
Do you have one big routine, smaller routines, do you have an hourly outlay?
How do you do your routines or your schedules for the day?
I have lots of other blog post on my older routines that I will go ahead and list here!
Routines have always being a strong impact in my house, and I look forward to getting back into a strong secure routine!
I also have zone cleaning that I used to keep up with some different tasks, I also have it daily tasks that I do along with my routines just to keep everything as controlled as I can!
So why go back through them, why deal with resetting them, re-cropping them?
It really is just because I always redoing my routine always looking at them!
They are always changes, needing to have a couple quick switches! Depending on the time of season literally as I live in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Also depending on the stage of the kids at the time, and all of that it really kind of changes. Not day by day, but definitely season-by-season and age by age!
I find if I can get back to my routines, especially now that the kids are back in school, that it can definitely help me have a more productive day, have more time for myself, but, also have more play time for the littles that are still at home.
I still have two kids that are at home. One that is four and one that is two. So I am still very busy. My schedules are only so flexible as I have toddlers that try to run my life. And so I find if they can have a nice routine. It kind of balances out their time too, and they know that Mommy will get play time, but mommy also needs her time, but mommy also needs some cleaning time.
How do you restart your routines when it comes to trying to get the chaos back under control?
Over the last week I thought I would start with one routine at at a time as that’s going to be the easiest way I think without getting overwhelmed!
So if you are into routines and trying just stay on track, while still trying to be a mom do the laundry get the supper on the table but, hopefully you will join me in the next couple weeks.
Getting routines back together kids back under somewhat control, and we’re going to get going on 2021.
Make sure you hit the like button down below so I know to keep going with my blogs. I’m not real sure what 2021 has in store. I just know that I am really enjoying blogging and having all of you with me through this year.

So until next week. Have a wonderful day, a fun weekend and a productive week.
I thought this week I would take you along and show you how I was getting ready to tackle 2021!
One of the first things that I like to do at the beginning of the year is take time to disinfect the whole house, when I say to disinfect the house I mean I will actually use bleach in my water LOL!
I say it this way because I use my homemade all purpose cleaner which is just vinegar, dish soap essential oils if you would like and some hot water! This is what I use all the time for everything, other than that I’ve been enjoying the Norwex cleaning cloths oh, these are new to my life and they are very easy to clean and that helps me and my kids out a lot!
So I’ve already put an order in for a couple of organizing things, because I really just want to get control of my house this year! So I plan on trying to go through like I do every year every room and declutter and organize it but this year I’m wanting to put a little extra money here and there just to get it all a little more situated!
This year for 2021 is my word for this year is strong !
I tossed a lot of different words this year and not really knowing which one would be the best, and I ended up going with the word strong!
I went with this word because no matter what I am doing this year whether it be something personal, business-related, organizing or cleaning, I have to be strong with it! By this I mean I want to start strong, stay strong through it the whole project but, I also have to make sure that I can end strong!
I tend to get distracted easily and I will very easily start another project before I’m done the one that I’ve started. I’m also really bad with if I don’t have all the stuff to completely finish it I can’t do that project.
Like when I go to start organizing my boot room, do I do what I can and then wait until my orders come in and then finish, or do I just try to get by for a couple of weeks and then do it all at once!
Another reason why I picked strong is that no matter what that happened this year I’m trying to just be strong! To know that I can do anything that I need to for my family is a goal that I’m trying to do for myself too.
Do you have a word for the year?
I really like how the word of the year has influenced my years the last couple that I’ve been using them!
Some other smaller goals that I’m trying to accomplish this year, is smaller things I am adding to try to accomplish!
Simpler tasks like drink my water, do you know how hard it is to start drinking water again? I used to drink a ton of water, and then I fell off that way again and I haven’t been able to get back on!
I used to drink between 4 and 6 litres of water a day and now I am lucky if I can get a cup in here in there!
I would like to work on having more patience with the children, and of course trying to have stronger routines to keep the chaos down in the house as much as I can in that degree anyways.
I always look forward to a fresh start in the new year, there’s just something about a new beginning that is almost exciting!
What are your goals for the the 2021 year?
Do you set yourself big goals?
There was a a fun way to do goals, they say I have it takes 21 days to make him so if you set a goal at the beginning of the month, you keep that goal heading into the next month with adding a small goal that month as long as you made your first goal the month before!
That way you either focus on the one goal that you’re trying, or you move on and add your next goal, either your first goal in habit already!
I have really like this idea I have really like this idea, and with how my new planner is set up with its goal setup at each month, I think this would be a really cute idea!
With the start of 2021 being as confusing and unpredictable as what I figured it might be, I am hoping to just be able to enjoy whatever positive aspects 2021 throw my way!
I hope you enjoyed this blog hit like if you enjoyed just done more chit-chatting one, it was definitely a fun blogs right and I would love to do more like this through the year!
Also don’t forget to follow the blog you can subscribe and put your email in at the bottom of the blog this way you get notifications of when I upload!
I do aim to upload a new blog every Monday just as some motivation for you but also for me for the week!
If you want a little more day to day Mom fun, a little more personal little more of the family of the kids what we’re doing day-to-day make sure you follow my social my other social media pages!

Until next week have a great day a wonderful weekend and a productive week! Bye for now.
Hi good morning and welcome back to Classic Classics By Kandis!
How is your Christmas?
Is all of your Christmas decorations still up? I took mine down actually before New Year’s this year, I don’t usually undecorate that early but, this year I thought it would be really nice to start the new year which is a clean start to the year!
I don’t always rush on undecorating my house, I love my decoration and I’m always really excited to get them up but, just like the entire world we decorated early this year, and even though 2020 was a “slow Christmas” all my kids are still ended up getting a lot of stuff!
So now along with having the two Christmas trees which by the way turn do really cute in the living room, and all of the decorations with all of the new toys there’s a lot of stuff here now!
My daughter wanted to wait until after New Year’s like we usually do, but she also agreed to doing it early this year if we take our time over a couple days! So we decided that we were going to just take your time and get it all taken down.
I had wanted to wait until I got to the city to get some more plastic totes, I ended up buying some at Walmart that’s so cute perfect red ones for like $7, which is a good deal here! I really wanted to get some of these tonight when I started packing up I was going to just put everything kind of on the table or the counter or wherever is safe at the time lol depending on what kids I have around me lol!
I was really excited but why in these because then I can get rid of some of my boxes that I’ve been storing my Christmas stuff in, the boxes are fine but some of them are getting a little older and this way I can still use some of the boxes if I don’t have enough room in the bins, still try to get the space more organized and then I can get more bins next year if need be!
So, as I am un decorating my house and still being a stay-at-home mom right there is still kids to take care of here right!
We’re still on Christmas break so there is no schooling, which is really kind of nice right now just to give all of our brains to break, as we were doing the remote learning in the beginning of the year!
I’m still not sure what the new year is going to bring, and I don’t know if we’re going to still do the remote learning or if we go back to school or if we’re doing like both and that part is also, stressing me out a little!
So this week is a busy week as we wind down getting ready for 2021! There is so much unknown coming into the year, but I am trying to just stay strong!
This brings me to my next topic of prepping for the new year, my word of the year, along with some goals to that I would like to try to get into a habit of! I never have the best luck with keeping goals and getting through all of them!
Do you have a word of the year?
This is something that I started and maybe four years ago or something. Every year that I do it I find it more and more powerful. It’s really a crazy thing! Just how a word can have such an influence on your entire year. And so this year I really put some thought into my word because it truly was a very impacted thing on my life last year.
Last year, my word was believe! I have too believe it was meant to be, I have too believe that it happened for a reason, I have too believe that it was going to be okay. I have too believe that there was a silver lining to whatever was occurring. For that day, that week, that month! It was a crazy year last year and, looking back at it now and all the craziness that occurred through the year, I am even more happy that I picked that word believe!
This year in preparing for whatever 2021 may bring. Hahaha my word that I am picking well, I had four words that I was tossing back and forth because I just didn’t really know which one was going to be more influential!
So my word for 2021 is going to be strong! This word I have picked because 2021 is holding lots the stuff up in the air with me this year. This year I have to be strong, in all ways! Well, try to be! Strong mentality, emotionally and doesn’t want to be a little more physically strong! I need to do my projects and tasks strong this year! To give it my best effort to the end! I can be bad for not quite finishing!
There is many hope’s and goals but, there is lots of next chapters coming! With personal and business there is just lots of….next!
I am not the best one for setting goals for myself, but there is something that I am trying to form into better habits this year! I am trying to keep it simple this year with getting my habits better for drinking water, having stronger routines, I’m trying to get a little more ahead on the business side of my life, and I would love to try to find some time for me here in there through the here!
What about you?
Do you do New Year’s resolutions?
How do you do them how do you go about figuring out your goals and setting them? Make sure you leave your comment down below!
As 2021 is now but not knowing how much is 2020 is actually done, I am hoping for the best for 2021! I do know that it’s still not going to be an easy year, with everything that has been occurring plus stuff that’s still happening in all of our own personal lives, so, from my family to yours I would like to wish you a very merry Christmas and I hope you had a safe and wonderful New Year!
Make sure to like this blog if you want some more chat blogs coming up in the new year also, make sure that you are following the blog! Sign up just and follow the blog, get notifications of when I upload new blogs, I aim to upload a new blog every Monday just to add some extra week motivation!

Hi good morning welcome back to Classic Classics by Kandis.
How was your Christmas?
I hope you had a lovely, quiet, peaceful family, loving time, with the slowness of what this year had brought whether we wanted it or not, I had stsrtes looking forward to having a quiet family Christmas.
The way that I seen it coming Christmas morning was all the joy and excitement in Christmas magic is still there with all the littles.
I have to believe that having a 2020 Christmas the way that it was laid out, with actually not a bad thing!
All of a sudden restrictions got put into place and nobody was allowed at the house, there was no extra people to come and no big holiday traditions or parties happening!
But, when I think about it Christmas is still all about just having the family around.
The joy I seen was just have the children wake up, they still have the excitement in their eyes and joy in their hearts!
There is so much that was simplified but made even greater with what was happening still.
All of a sudden, there wasn’t as much pressure in this much chaos to go into Christmas this year!
What better for Christmas morning then to get up and have coffee and just watch the children have excitement over the gifts that are under the tree.
So, as 2021 shows up and if covid is still here, with how things are still going we don’t know what 2021 is going to bring!
I thought to end 2020 and the start 2021, what a better way than to just calm down and try to have some me time and family time!
To wake up on Christmas morning and to realize with covid not a whole lot changed just some a little!
Yes, there was no gatherings, no main Christmas traditions, however, Christmas still came Santa still came, coffee still tastes delicious Christmas morning, and still having a Christmas supper!
We may not have all of her loved ones around us at the Christmas table, or around the Christmas tree!
But, our loved ones are doing the same thing they are sitting at their their kitchen table, are hanging around their Christmas tree!
With that, this is a way that we can still stay connected! It’s like when you were little and you hear about being told to look up at the moon or the stars when you miss somebody and know that when they look at the stars that you were both looking at the same one and that is how you can be connected!
With that all I can tell my kids is it’s not going to be forever our family will be around our Christmas tree and the dinner table again!
For this year as hard as it was in the beginning I am thankful that I got to take that time to spend with just my family!
I mean my main squad if you will the ones that are always there for me, always with me!
So, long story short I guess what I want to take out of the 2020 year is that no matter what the ones that we are stuck with the ones that we are always with is the true meaning of Christmas!
I’m hoping I can take some of this meaning and some of the slow dance with me into 2021. In hopes that this covid-19 go away or give us part of our life back, there are some aspects that I need or want to take out of this year!
I I’m looking forward probably almost more than other years, I am looking forward to finding my New Year’s word. Do you pick a new word for every year? My word lost her was believe, because you always just have to believe. Last year I started my year with the word believe as you have to believe that it happened for a reason, you have to believe that there is a way, you have to believe that it happened for a reason!
2020 was a really crazy year for everybody, and with how the year ended up rolling out because I had picked my word before 2020 hit right! I now believe even more but I picked the perfect word for 2020. I picked it for reasons in our life that I needed that word, and then even more stuff happened that made me happy to have my word be believe last year!
I look forward to sitting down and getting my new word, I do not do New Year’s resolutions to a degree. I try to have goals for myself the family the house and maybe some outside goals I try to keep my goals as realistic and simple and promising as I can!
This will be one of the blogs coming up soon after the New Year’s hit!
I wanted to take this time and to take this blog too wish all of you a very safe and merry Christmas.
I hope you had a wonderful year, I hope you have a magical Christmas!
I wanted to take this time to say thank you to everybody who is followed me through this blog it means a lot!

Hi good morning welcome back to Classy Classics By Kandis. It is definitely starting to look like Christmas, we all like Christmas and the stores are definitely looking like it’s almost Christmas.
With how this year is going and by the looks that January is going to still kind of be the same so, I thought why not share with you some of my December favourites.
This year I started Christmas early well I started getting ready for Christmas early. Did you read the blog on the holiday prep earlier?
If not I will leave a link for that blog down below!
Now like always just like every other year I made sure to wait until after Remembrance Day, but I was sure ready for the holiday season to start here.
This year I took a different approach to things or at least I definitely tried, that is what I was talking about on my blog with keeping Christmas simple!
How are you handling stuff this year for Christmas?
With my kids being all home doing remote learning I was taking this time to try to have them really see and enjoy all the fun that happens in the house in December.
This is because they are always usually in school yes my oldest will be turning 12 right away, and my oldest son just turned 10!
I actually have his cake recipes that I made the other week on last week’s blog all about treats in the kitchen!
I will also leave a link for that blog down below for you to check out!
It has been a busy, fun, wonky year this year! I have really enjoyed doing my weekly blogs and what the holiday season around it has been even more fun!
So, I thought with all the hustle and bustle that this week has brought with more restrictions coming in, Christmas still right around the corner, and the anticipation of Christmas still upon us I thought I would take that this week’s blog I would just take you around and show you some of my favourites!
I thought with Christmas here and all the cute things that have been floating around social media there are definitely some cute Christmas stuff!
I’m not even sure where to start with this blog so, I’m just going to go for it and show you some wintry December items!
My first favourite December thing will have to be our hot chocolate and coffee station. I love this hot chocolate station, I had set it up probably four or five years ago when I started, every year the kids and I are so excited to get it setup, the kids loved it for the hot chocolate and I love it because it looks so cute! This year I took out some of our like everyday cups, and I put our Christmas cups into our cupboard just so that they weren’t out for the littles to touch and probably break!
Hot Chocolate Station!
Another thing that I guess I should probably put onto my December favourites, is all the pretty decorations! This year I added a couple more, I definitely purged my Christmas decorations oh, anything that was broke, or just really scruffy looking I ended up tossing out! I will point out some of the tinsel I was using was around 10 years old! I bought new tinsel this year along with a couple cute new Christmas decorations. This is probably one of my favourite things about Christmas or the holiday season is all the pretty decorations in the lights.
How cute are Christmas decorations tho!Christmas every where!
I would have to say that one of my other favourite December things, is that I love how merry everybody gets, yes I do realize not everybody does!
I however, believe that some days I am happy enough for everybody who has a grumpy holiday spirit!
With the cute holiday outfits and what I find to be some of the cutest leggings that I can wear this time of year I also love all the baking, and the Christmas spirit that people give out this time of year.
I would have usually have handed out cookie trays this year with covid-19 or I decided it would be better off not you even though I live in a small town I’m sure it all would have been fine but I didn’t want to deal with the restrictions and the Hubba Bubba I’m trying to figure out how to get the cookies properly to the people.
So I do have to say that for my third thing is going to be a double thing and that is the cute holiday clothing and the Christmas baking.
sugar cookies chocolate coconut snowball cookies!we followed school spirit days at home!the start to our tree, the kids have the fake tree also!
That will do it for this blog on my December favourites! I have never done a favourites blog before it was actually very fun.
Make sure to leave in the comments down below what’s your favourite December favourite is!
What was something you were the most excited about putting up this year for Christmas?
Make sure you like this blog if you enjoy that so I know to go ahead and do more favourite blogs in the upcoming year! I am looking forward to having a great year in 2021 and lots of upcoming fun for the blogs!
Make sure you are following the blog also so you can get notifications of when I upload, I aim to upload every Monday and I have the intentions of doing just that if not more, come the new year!
Also don’t forget to follow me and my other social media Pages Instagram and Facebook, I tend to post more day-to-day fun tips and tricks, just kind of anything this, mama is doing that day in the house!
I will leave the links to these pages down below.
Until next week have an amazing day, a productive week and of course an amazing Merry Christmas.
Hi good morning welcome back to Classic Classics By Kandis!
This week we had a busy week, and last week for that matter we had a busy week in the kitchen!
Last week I started doing my Christmas baking now, remember I was saying that because do the Covid I’m trying to not do as much baking, it’s not that I’m not doing as many as I am trying not to do as big of batches!
I always have my standard Christmas cookies that we tend to have in the house and I tend to do quite the variety however, this year I am not doing any cookie trays and not giving any out on my Facebook page!
This is some local Christmas fun at this time that I try to do online and one of the local winners get a dozen cookies from the cookies that I am making that week! However, with Covid I am not giving out any cookie trays this year so instead of making three or four batches of everything I am really only trying to do one or two batches of each cookies, but then I still have my tarts on top of that there is always a lot of goodies here at Christmas time!
I thought this week with the start of Christmas baking and my son’s birthday party last weekend, while his birthday we just had a birthday party at the house with us as we have a family of 6!
Every year I always make my kids birthday cakes this year was no different, this year he wanted a black forest cake the same that his dad had!
His dad always have a black forest cake it is a favourite kind of cake so, I thought I would use this week’s blog and share my recipes from the week!
I have a gingerbread cookie recipe, sugar cookie recipe, and a recipe for a black forest cake!
Do you do Christmas baking?
Are you still planning on doing Christmas baking?
Depending on what is going on that week I will try to just make my cookie dough and then during the spare times of the day or at the evening is when I will try to do the rolling and to bake them and possibly decorate, depending on the type of cookie!
What is your favourite kind of cookie for Christmas?
I have lots of favorite kinds of cookies that’s why I have lots of cookies in my house but, I have to say one of my favourite cookie is is the candy cane cookies that I make with my kids.
CANDY CANE COOKIES
My mom used to make all the time when I was little I am making those cookies either later this week or next week!
Let me know in the comments down below if you would like that recipe also?
If you’re ready let’s get into the recipes!
Make sure you go ahead and like the blog if you enjoy the recipes that way I know that I can go ahead and make some more recipe blogs!

For the gingerbread man I used a recipe out of my book called The Ultimate cookie book! I got this years ago as a Christmas present for my mother-in-law and it has a lot of go to cookie recipes! I have to say they made a little better Ginger Snap cookies then they did to try to roll out to make gingerbread cookies! The gingerbread men turned out okay but they flattened a bit more than what I would usually do. The nice thing about that this year is that the cookies are only for the house so they really didn’t need to be perfect this year because I know none of my kids are going to complain about the cookies.
You will need:
1/3 cup of butter softened
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 egg
1/4 cup of light molasses… I use dark it worked out fine I assume it’s just kind of more of the taste that it changes
2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur strong coffee or milk
2 1/4 cups of flour.
In large mixing bowl beat your butter and shortening together for about 30 seconds as your sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and Nutmeg. Keep beating scraping the sides of occasionally. Then you can beat them in the egg, molasses, and the coffee or milk whichever one you were using! Beat as much flour in as you can with the mixer if you have to finish mixing flour in by hand then do it that way! My KitchenAid mixer made it all no problem.
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F you can lightly Grease the cookie sheet, roll out your cookies or scoop them depending on how you were going to make them! Place some on your cookie sheet and bake for between 6 to 8 minutes until the edges are light brown!
Let them stand on the cookie sheet for a couple minutes, after they’re done before you put them on to a cooling rack to finish cooling completely before storing or decorating.
They didn’t roll the best, but they are yummy!
Sugar cookies
Sugar cookies will make roughly three dozen cookies!
You will need:
2/3 cups of butter softened
3/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 egg
1 tbsp of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 cups of flour.
You want to chill the dough into the fridge for at least 30 minutes if not longer, pull out let sit for a little bit until you can work with the dough and then you can start to roll and cut .
rolled perfect after chilled!
Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees F bake for between 6 & 8 minutes depending on how thick your cookie is until the edges are nice and golden brown!
Ny Christmas helpers!
Let’s sit for a minute or two before transferring onto a cookie sheet like completely cool before decorating and store.
cool before decorating!

Hi, good morning. Welcome back to classy classics by Kandis. I hope everything went good last week.
Did you get a chance to read last week’s blog about the hot chocolate and coffee station?
We are for sure enjoying it this week!
Finally, I’ve got some hot chocolate in for the container. It was kind of hard to find this year as I will only buy it from bulk barn because you can get twice as much for the same price and why not use the same container if not a cuter one.
We were going to try to really enjoy the hot chocolate station and just a fun joys of Christmas this year.
Everything has been pretty crazy this year and then it happens and didn’t get any easier. Remember in April, it was supposed to just turn around to be joke on us. Happy Fool’s Day. Then it never did, there is so much still up in the air this year. With things not turning around, the world still going crazy and things being deemed non essential at the worst time of year. We did luck out here and nothing has been closed or roped-off or whatever is going on, all of our stores are still open.
This is one of the reasons of why I tried to get all of my Christmas shopping done as early as I could.
This year I am having different thoughts and I feel that we should just try to keep it as simple as we can I am bring back the joy of Christmas.
Working out the list, making sure each kid didn’t have more presents or know one had more stuff! Making sure the tinsell is perfect, trying to make sure everything is just perfect.
This years Christmas book!
As I was making my first round of cookies, stay tuned for that recipe, this year there was so much extra stress added to stuff.
Gingerbread and a chocolate cake!
All of a sudden It’s December 1st, I know if I have a lot of stuff done more than what I even give myself credit for I am still just going crazy. With the kids at home all the time, and just the extra stuff happening, I’m not sure exactly how to do Christmas this year.
So, I decided to just take a step back and we’re going to just do a basic Christmas. With not do any Christmas trays this year and not as much to give out, also not doing my Christmas cookie giveaway, I’m trying to figure out how to keep all of my Christmas traditions going but with keeping them going with just the family.
So how am I trying to do Christmas this year?
What I am trying to do to keep Christmas as fun as I can with the kids?
I’m not the best one to always invite the kids to come and help the bigger ones sure get in here and come roll some cookie dough, with the little ones can be harder.
I got all of my Christmas decorations done in November this year of course waiting till after Remembrance Day.
Count down has been on!
Did you see that blog about?
The holiday prep in the house, I’ll leave the link here.
We had fun the kids had a lot of questions for me on that one. Why am I taking pictures of this why am I taking pictures of that?
My kids have seemed to be harder this year and I think that’s because they have been home you guys since March. I am really enjoying having them here tho, and I’m hoping that they can experience the joy of bringing Christmas into the house!
My son’s birthday was December 4th and with trying to do Christmas and now his birthday cake, which I have never not made my kids a birthday kid.
Black forest cake!
There is definitely a couple things on my plate to do this week but with having most of Christmas done, why not be able to bring some Christmas spirit and some of the Christmas tradition of his birthday being in December to the house right now.
His birthday I’m sad for him because he just wants to invite a bunch of friends because he doesn’t go to school so, he doesn’t see them as much and I had to explain to him. He really really good at understanding you guys I can not ask for a better kid to understand why he can’t invite his friends that he hasn’t seen since spring time to his birthday party.
I have to be very thankful that he has understood the concept and that he is willing to be okay with it. That’s a hard thing to do for a little boy’s 10th birthday.
So with the signs put up and the tensile hung we still have to give it tree. We haven’t yet because we hadn’t decided if we were going to do a real tree or fake tree.
What do you guys do you do a real tree?
So every year for the last 10 years we have done a real tree. Last year, we did a fake tree because it’s hard for us to get out and get a tree because of my husband’s accident. So we were going to do a real tree this year because we have we didn’t last year and that’s a hard thing to swallow.
However, another thing is is we have a wood stove in our living room and our Christmas tree with really last long it would last maybe 2 weeks, which is fine, but I kind of want a Christmas tree up longer than that, especially this year. Now Christmas is right around the corner anyways!
You guys I just want my Christmas tree and I want it to stay like that without having pine needles spread across my house within one week.
I don’t mind the mess that a real tree makes because it looks so nice. They make everything so nice and Christmassy but thats a bit of work for my Christmas tree to be dead week or two.
I should say that’s a little hard for me to try to do on the year that I’m trying to make Christmas a great traditional simple family fun, love year.
So with most of my stuff done, decorating and gift like that’s all that I have done. You guys don’t get me wrong when I say I’m done because I’m not. But, for the next couple weeks I do get to just hang out enjoy the tensile and enjoy baking cookies with my kids.
We are going to still have lots of cookies in the house this holiday, I’m making my kid his cake.
I started Thursday then, I’ll finish making it on Friday and actually I am making him his own pumpkin pie to.
Pumpkin pie is his favourite he will pick that kind over any other any day of the year. I hope you’re following I have a couple different recipes coming up next week.
Pumpkin Pie.. kids are it All!
On the blog I will have a black forest cake and gingerbread cookie recipes on next week’s blog with maybe . I have too see how the week goes lol.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s blog on just how I’m trying to keep Christmas a little more simple!

To find more head to my social media pages, I do tend to post a little more right now at this time of year on my Facebook page then I do on Instagram. I am trying to get into the habit of doing both again, I’ll leave a link to both these Pages down below.
It is been getting fun here. More and more decorations come out. More and more talk about Christmas and more and more Christmas presents are being bought and being hid.
One of my favourite parts about my decorations is our hot chocolate station that I started couple years ago for the kids. They love it they ask for it every year. And as much as I love giving it to them, I also don’t like giving it to them because then I fight with them of what only really wanting to have hot chocolate. With how the world is this year, and the uncertainty of how Christmas is I thought why not just go ahead and do an awesome hot chocolate station. There’s enough chores outside that they can go and do some to come in to get warmed up with some hot chocolate.
I thought I would take you along and show you how I setup my hot chocolate and coffee station this year!
Hot chocolate station!
I added a couple things. Didn’t put a couple things on but it’s still as cute.
Do you do a hot chocolate station?
Have you ever wanted one?
How is yours setup?
I just used a bunch of old Christmas decorations that were handed down and some really cute tins.
I was never really sure what to put in them until I realized that the perfect hot chocolate station would go great with these cute little tins.
If you are ready let’s go and talk about the hot chocolate station.
Make sure they give the blog a like if you enjoy blogs like this. They’ll be so much more fun blogs coming up through the holiday season. So make sure you like the blog and also make sure to follow the blog.
So for the start of my hot chocolate station, I have this really cute Santa tray, I have these three tins that are different sizes that fit into each other and these work great for all the little hot chocolate knick knacks!
In one of them in the large one I usually add a bag so it doesn’t get as dirty, and I fill it with hot chocolate mix. I also do it this way because I buy my hot chocolate from the Bulk Bard because you can get more for less. Unfortunately when I had went to the first Balk Barn that I was going to they were out of hot chocolate. All three containers of the hot chocolate was completely empty! That’s okay, I will head up a different Bulk Barn next time I’m in a different city. I will get the hot chocolate for the kiddos.
Hot chocolate mix!
Another thing you could use is those individual baggies of the really cute flavors of hot chocolate you can definitely pick up a couple of those, put those out on your tray so you could have a variety of hot chocolate. If you wanted instead of just hot chocolate.
So then the middle sized one, I have 1 for mini marshmallows! Can’t have hot chocolate without mini marshmallows, right?
Little smaller for marshmallows!
There is then the mini one that I have, that’s the one that I use for candy canes and peppermint candies because you can’t have a fun Christmas hot chocolate without mini marshmallows and candy cane!
Right?
This is at least what I have been informed for my children after I started doing this.
The small one for candies.. just too cute!
This year I went and bought some chocolate covered coffee beans for the husband and myself. I’m not sure where to put these on with them on the tray because they are cute and they’re coffee except for I can’t have the kids getting into them because they are coffee beans, so I might just try to find a cute little container to put some on the tray.
I also added some tea bags that are some of my favourite teas and some of the kids favorite tea. I drink red rose and green tea and my kids love peach mango right now and spiced apple. It honestly taste just like an apple pie, it’s delicious.
Another thing that I am adding is a couple packs of instant coffee. Now before you like get totally devastated. I do not drink what I call “fake” coffee. I do not drink decaf coffee, or instant. I am the one that don’t drink coffee all day everyday and I’m okay with that.
So when I got handed some packs of instant coffee to try I laughed at my friend and he told me just to try them so I tried one and you know what it was really good. When I happen to be down Walmart, I have found a pack and you know a box of these were only like 6 bucks. So I grabbed the box because y’all late nights, or when I know I shouldn’t be having another pot of coffee and I just want to have a nice cup of coffee. Boil some water and whatever then I can just have a quick cup of instant coffee. The stuff that I bought was French vanilla and it really is good.
I would also like to get out some coffee stir sticks out and put them on the tray. For anybody who’s making a cup, I usually put the cups on the tray to we all have our own Christmas cups, but with trying to get at least 6 cups, if not more out onto a tray is crazy and it seems really cluttered.
So this year I just pulled some of my cups in the cupboard out and I added our coffee cups into the cupboard so that we didn’t have all of these cute breakable Christmas cups all over the counter. My toddler right now is all into sitting on the counter all the time, this is a reason why one I wanted the coffee beans put into a container, but also why I wasn’t sure if I should have our Christmas cups out on the counter! So there you have it! That’s my hot chocolate and coffee station.
I also have this other Santa platter that is really cute with Santa fishing! On this one, I’m leaving in a little more simple. I have this Christmas tree platter that I always put my mints on that I make for Christmas and so this year before I get my mints done, I’ve just been putting little treats on.
Treat Tray!
I bought banana chips and some chocolate covered pretzels and stuff, I have just been putting those on there.
I have a couple napkins in this really cute Santa holder! It’s actually a plant holder like a pot! I don’t have a plant that’s actually that small that I could put into their just for the Christmas season. So I just have a bag and I have some red and green napkins in it.
I also have this cute candle on it is now the candle has never been lite, that really bugs one of my kids because he’s all about lighting candles. But it’s more for decoration because it’s just this cute little wrapped looking present so I think it looks really cute beside the snack tree.
After I get some cookies done, I’ll maybe have a couple cookies on there. But my cookies go into my snowman cookie jar here, and it’s really cute because you can turn the lid and it says full and empty so I can either trick the kids into leaving my cookies alone, or they know to let me know or to fill it up when it gets empty.
This is also kind of a problem because the kids tend to go through a lot of cookies when the cookie jar is always full.
The other cookie jar that I have here. I didn’t use just as a decoration this year,I actually went ahead and put parchment paper in it and I was keeping our Christmas oranges in it. It was really cute that way it works out really really cute. So I think I’m going to stick with that one and get some more Christmas oranges.
My kids are all about Christmas oranges at this time. I assume it’s because they can peel themselves and they’re just small and cute and super sweet and I only buy them at Christmas time! Do you remember when you were little and you could only get them at Christmas time? It was like the best Christmas trear ever! I don’t understand how all those things you can get Christmas oranges all year round!
Well that’ll probably wrap up the blog for my hot chocolate and coffee station!
What did you think?
Do you have a hot chocolate station?
They are really easy to make, you can use anything that you have in your house. You can just as easily go to the Dollar Tree and for as little as $5, you can have your own super cute hot chocolate station made.
Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Hi, good morning. Welcome to Classy Classics By Kandis. I hope you had a good week last week. We went through the laundry schedule. With homemade laundry detergent in my homemade laundry fabric softener!
How did your week go with your laundry?
Did you get a new laundry routine?
Do you have a good one in place?
I will leave a link to the blog at the end.
With November here, and Remembrance Day now over, the Christmas holidays can start. My rule was always that I would never start getting ready for Christmas until after Remembrance Day. Usually, it would be till after my son’s birthday, which is the 4th of Decembe, but this year he said we could do it early and I want Christmas to come. After discussion with the family and deciding that we can decorate early. I don’t usually have Christmas decorations up for his birthday, but why not incorporate Christmas into his 10th birthday?
Santa usually goes on a door or window, not this year!
All of a sudden on Facebook everywhere, I’ve seen everybody with their trees up. This is when I start getting a little antsy for Christmas. So, we then decided that we were going to start. It’s funny because when I start, we don’t start with a tree as a couple reasons for that, we do a real tree. Last year was the first year that we had a fake tree. We are not sure if we are going to do a fake tree or we’re going to go into the real tree again. We always do a real tree. It has become a family tradition that we were trying not to have to break.
START of the living ROOM!
So, when it comes to prepping for Christmas, my prepping is a little different. The first thing that I do to prep for Christmas is I make a new Christmas outline book. I did this one a couple years ago and I love it. It totally changed the way that I do Christmas plan and prep.
Just a easy cover as I’m not artistic
Everything is in one notebook it’s super easy and it’s just paper I put together. It is just as easy as can be and it’s also as cheap as can be. Both which is perfect for me at this time of year. In my book I have everything in there that I kinda would need to keep me organized through the year.
My Christmas outline
As you can see, I have everything from where Christmas is going to be, cards, baking down to our budget for everybody! What I have ordered, what needs to be ordered and some gift ideas. There’s also a spot for orders that maybe still need to come in or that I still need to order. I’m not sure how Christmas shopping will go this year. And so, I wanted it done early this year as there may be problems with shipping not fast this year, even issues with just getting gifts from the stores.
So, I went to Amazon to do a Christmas order, one on wish… my first time! We are getting ready to go to the city this weekend, I actually got a babysitter whoop whoop, hubby and myself are going to go hit up a city and try to get as much Christmas shopping as we can done.
one of a couple boxes coming in lol
Then if I need to place another order, hopefully I will have time to place one more order probably through Amazon because they are the quickest and easiest way to track my orders.
So, after my Christmas book is ready and my nerves get a little easier. Knowing that it’s still just the middle of November and I have lots of time, I then go and started pulling boxes. I have a crawl space upstairs; I am thankfully to have a spot I to put all of my Christmas decorations in to. So, my oldest son and me started pulling boxes, we got to start seeing where stuff was going to go.
I am taking a bit to get my decorating done, I’m really excited this year to get the hot chocolate and coffee station set-up. I think this will be a nicer set up to with the kids being at home. I tend to usually not always like it because then all they want to do is drink hot chocolate, however when it comes to this year and the craziness and all the uncertainty still, I am being more like come on kid if you want hot chocolate, go do some outside chores and come on in and have some hot chocolate. Haha.
I think that’s almost something that I am being more excited about is that my kids are home this year and they get to be here all day to enjoy the Christmas beautifulness. This might make it a little harder to do some of my prep and to keep stuff, I might have to hide them a little more, but I think it’ll be really good for all of us to be home.
With the early Christmas decorations have you started decorating for Christmas yet?
How do you start?
What is your step 1 and what you do for Holiday prep?
Another thing that I do is I do a local cookie giveaway. I used to do Christmas trays all the time, however it got a little hard to give out. So, with that I started doing a fun little Christmas giveaway. With some Christmas questions and just some Christmas fun for the community, fun for a dozen cookies, I still have a couple trays that I do give away, but not like I used to.
With this one of the next things that I do is I’m going to sit down and figure out my Christmas baking what cookies and desserts I need to prep for! Trying to get any of my groceries that are needing to come, with one haul right before Christmas. With this I tend to do too many cookies and I feel like I might have to back it off a little this year with not having as many, gatherings and visitors this Christmas season there is always some staple cookies that needs to be done. And so, no matter what there is lots of cookies and treats in this house for the Christmas season. With that I will be getting a list going and I will of coarse share oh so many yummy Christmas cookie recipes with you.
Do you do Christmas baking?
What is your favourite Christmas cookie?
I usually will make my cookies, decorate them depending on what kind of cookie, get them all completely done then I put them in the freezer. This way when we’re leaving a cookie tray or when the kids needs another round of cookies, we can just pull them out of the freezer and put them into the cookie jar.
As far as our stocking stuffers go, it’s so pricey all the time. I never know what to do, I tend to use the Dollar Tree and dollar stores for that stuff. This year will not be different. I never quite know what to put in the stocking’s and its always staple stuff that I put in so that it’s an easier thing. They always of course of cute little knick-knacks.Every year they do get body wash, new toothbrush, toothpaste, loofah, bubble bath, stuff like that! Bathroom stuff that they don’t always like to share, also my 2 oldest are boy and girl, so being able to give separate items is needed and an easy way to fill some stocking!
Usually, every year I will have my budget completely done before I even start putting an order in, but this year with the uncertainty of it all I really just picked some items, I will do a better layout before I hit the city tho! I am determined to get as much as I can done early like I say this because with my luck I would go to go do my Christmas shopping, and that city would shut down. LOL, this is just my luck of 2020, this is also why I said I wanted to have as much shopping as I could done, as early as I could so that I had time to still go and get what was needed without running around trying to find it and ended up spending a fortune on something that shouldn’t be that much.
It’s going to be such a fun holiday season on the blog. I hope you will join in on the Christmas spirit here. If you are liking holiday blogs, go ahead and give it a like. And make sure that you are signed up to follow the blog by adding an email you will get a notification of when I upload a new blog.
