Hi, good morning. Welcome back to classy classics by Kandis. I hope everything went good last week.
Did you get a chance to read last week’s blog about the hot chocolate and coffee station?
We are for sure enjoying it this week!

Finally, I’ve got some hot chocolate in for the container. It was kind of hard to find this year as I will only buy it from bulk barn because you can get twice as much for the same price and why not use the same container if not a cuter one.
We were going to try to really enjoy the hot chocolate station and just a fun joys of Christmas this year.
HOT CHOCOLATE AND COFFEE STATION!
Everything has been pretty crazy this year and then it happens and didn’t get any easier. Remember in April, it was supposed to just turn around to be joke on us. Happy Fool’s Day. Then it never did, there is so much still up in the air this year. With things not turning around, the world still going crazy and things being deemed non essential at the worst time of year. We did luck out here and nothing has been closed or roped-off or whatever is going on, all of our stores are still open.
This is one of the reasons of why I tried to get all of my Christmas shopping done as early as I could.
This year I am having different thoughts and I feel that we should just try to keep it as simple as we can I am bring back the joy of Christmas.
Working out the list, making sure each kid didn’t have more presents or know one had more stuff! Making sure the tinsell is perfect, trying to make sure everything is just perfect.

As I was making my first round of cookies, stay tuned for that recipe, this year there was so much extra stress added to stuff.

All of a sudden It’s December 1st, I know if I have a lot of stuff done more than what I even give myself credit for I am still just going crazy. With the kids at home all the time, and just the extra stuff happening, I’m not sure exactly how to do Christmas this year.
So, I decided to just take a step back and we’re going to just do a basic Christmas. With not do any Christmas trays this year and not as much to give out, also not doing my Christmas cookie giveaway, I’m trying to figure out how to keep all of my Christmas traditions going but with keeping them going with just the family.
So how am I trying to do Christmas this year?
What I am trying to do to keep Christmas as fun as I can with the kids?
I’m not the best one to always invite the kids to come and help the bigger ones sure get in here and come roll some cookie dough, with the little ones can be harder.
I got all of my Christmas decorations done in November this year of course waiting till after Remembrance Day.

Did you see that blog about?
The holiday prep in the house, I’ll leave the link here.
We had fun the kids had a lot of questions for me on that one. Why am I taking pictures of this why am I taking pictures of that?
My kids have seemed to be harder this year and I think that’s because they have been home you guys since March. I am really enjoying having them here tho, and I’m hoping that they can experience the joy of bringing Christmas into the house!
My son’s birthday was December 4th and with trying to do Christmas and now his birthday cake, which I have never not made my kids a birthday kid.

There is definitely a couple things on my plate to do this week but with having most of Christmas done, why not be able to bring some Christmas spirit and some of the Christmas tradition of his birthday being in December to the house right now.
His birthday I’m sad for him because he just wants to invite a bunch of friends because he doesn’t go to school so, he doesn’t see them as much and I had to explain to him. He really really good at understanding you guys I can not ask for a better kid to understand why he can’t invite his friends that he hasn’t seen since spring time to his birthday party.
I have to be very thankful that he has understood the concept and that he is willing to be okay with it. That’s a hard thing to do for a little boy’s 10th birthday.
So with the signs put up and the tensile hung we still have to give it tree. We haven’t yet because we hadn’t decided if we were going to do a real tree or fake tree.
What do you guys do you do a real tree?
So every year for the last 10 years we have done a real tree. Last year, we did a fake tree because it’s hard for us to get out and get a tree because of my husband’s accident. So we were going to do a real tree this year because we have we didn’t last year and that’s a hard thing to swallow.
However, another thing is is we have a wood stove in our living room and our Christmas tree with really last long it would last maybe 2 weeks, which is fine, but I kind of want a Christmas tree up longer than that, especially this year. Now Christmas is right around the corner anyways!
You guys I just want my Christmas tree and I want it to stay like that without having pine needles spread across my house within one week.
I don’t mind the mess that a real tree makes because it looks so nice. They make everything so nice and Christmassy but thats a bit of work for my Christmas tree to be dead week or two.
I should say that’s a little hard for me to try to do on the year that I’m trying to make Christmas a great traditional simple family fun, love year.
So with most of my stuff done, decorating and gift like that’s all that I have done. You guys don’t get me wrong when I say I’m done because I’m not. But, for the next couple weeks I do get to just hang out enjoy the tensile and enjoy baking cookies with my kids.
We are going to still have lots of cookies in the house this holiday, I’m making my kid his cake.
I started Thursday then, I’ll finish making it on Friday and actually I am making him his own pumpkin pie to.
Pumpkin pie is his favourite he will pick that kind over any other any day of the year. I hope you’re following I have a couple different recipes coming up next week.

On the blog I will have a black forest cake and gingerbread cookie recipes on next week’s blog with maybe . I have too see how the week goes lol.
