Hello good morning and welcome back to Classy Classic’s By Kandis!
How was your week on deep cleaning your zone?
I hope you are finding it an easier way to get holiday ready!
It is funny I thought with the week that I had I would try to incorporate my laundry routine into the holiday prep!
What a better time, then while I am washing everything under my roof!
Let me tell you why!
There is a couple reasons on why this blog is about my laundry routine! I am also going to be sharing my laundry detergent and fabric softener that I make.
I do laundry EVERYDAY here! The sad thing is is that is me being caught up, on laundry.
Last month my washer had went! A whole month I had no washer here, our neighbor was so nice and let us take some over to do it there. I will tell you the husband was never so eager to do laundry for me. It wasn’t all taken care of because I can’t take all of the laundry over. But, he was definitely more than willing to go for a beer to throw a load of laundry in for me.
Now that my washer is fixed. There is definitely a need for the laundry routine again. I spent the last 3 days catching up on laundry and boy was there still a lot! With the washer fixed and laundry back on track!

I thought it would be a good time to talk about my laundry routine.
Laundry is something that gets done everyday here. I really enjoyed using the delay button on my washer. I had never used this before and then I was watching a video one day and a lady had said why not use the delay system on the washer?
Well, why not?
She had said it’s like doing a chore while you’re sleeping. Why wouldn’t you have the laundry wash itself while you were sleeping and be able to put it into the dryer when you get up?
Just like that it made sense.
Why not put laundry in the night before have it set to go off super early in the morning? Throw it in the dryer and laundry is half done already, before I’m even having my coffee. This is something I am trying to put into the evening routine. I will put what I am washing the next day in and set it to go off at about 5 a.m. In morning when I get up, I can simply get it into the dryer.
If there’s another ready I can simply keep going with laundry!
Little while back, couple kids ago I sat down and I cropped it and new laundry routine! I am in the process of teaching my oldest kid how to do laundry, but with that it gets kind of difficult waiting on them to feel like putting it in.
So ready or not here we go.
I have something on the go for laundry every day, this is a nice way to keep me caught up. This also gives us enough time to make sure that is folded and everyone can get their clothes put away.
Monday- my sheets, toddler sheets and once a month are quilts.
Tuesday- I try to do towels.
Wednesday – my husband and my clothes
Thursday – the crib sheets and start of the big kids laundry pile
Friday- the big kids sheets once a month their quilts
Saturday -finish the big kids laundry from upstairs
Sunday – sort everything and to just finished washing folding and putting away.
Depending on the zone that I’m in that week depends on what extra I might be washing. For example if my zone is in the bathroom for an extra load, I will wash the bathroom matts that are on the floor also before the holidays I will always wash my shower curtains!
Like you can see laundry is always on the go here! There is always something that can get put into the wash.
This takes me my next part of my laundry blog which is my laundry detergent and fabric softener!
If you have been following me for a bit. Then you know that I make my own laundry detergent and fabric softener. I am sure this in a blog before. But I thought I would share it again here on this laundry blog.
Laundry detergent
For the laundry detergent that should last at least three months if not even longer. I’m not 100% sure of how long my last but I know it last definitely months. I always told myself to mark down when I make it so that I can see how long it lasts us here, but then I never do.
What you will need is:
1 box borax
1 large box baking soda
1 container, Unstoppable beads
1 box of Arm & Hammer laundry soap
3-4 graded bars of soap of sunlight laundry bars
1 container of oxy
Mix them all together and store them in any container. I use 2 scoops from one of the containers and that is all I do.

FABRIC SOFTENER
Where the fabric softener all you were going to need is:
2 cups of conditioner
3 cups of white vinegar
6 cups of water
Mixed together I use an old fabric softener jug that I have had for years and mix it all together. Put it into the jug. Give it a good Shake. Good to go use one capfull as you usually would in your wash.
So that it is there’s my laundry routine. That’s how I try to keep up with laundry and what I use when I do my laundry.
